John worked as a machinist in Moberly, Missouri and he worked for Chrysler a short time but what he did most of his life was cut wood. You could find John in the woods every day of the week. He sold wood to the canoe rentals and the campgrounds for over 40 plus years. John also worked for Richards Wood Products in Steelville, Missouri for 30 years. Even after John's health began to decline, three years ago, he still went to the woods. John enjoyed working, cutting wood, listening to classical rock music and he was a good cook. Stella Vest Neidert Stella Vest Neidert was born on September 21, 1927 to Marvin and Stella Green Vest and passed away November 23, 2016 at the age of 89 years. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri she graduated from Harris Teachers College in St. Louis with a Bachelor in Education and later received a Master's in Education from the University of Nevada, Reno. She married Kalo Neidert on June 22, 1952 and they had five children. Stella taught in Washoe County Schools for 30 years, including 24 years at Grace Warner Elementary School. She was an active member of St. John's Presbyterian Church for 54 years, serving as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and Stephen Minister. After retirement, she was an active volunteer at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center and traveled widely with her husband. She and Kalo volunteered for several years with the National Forest Service and were active members of several RV clubs. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2012; and two brothers, Lawrence and Eugene. She was united in marriage to Wayne Sneathen on November 22, 1964. They spent 37 years together before his death on December 7, 2001. She worked as an aide in the healthcare field for many years before her retirement. She enjoyed quilting, going to yard sales and going driving around. Watson of St. James, Missouri was born in Cook Station, Missouri to Manche and Vivian (Williams) Watson on November 26, 1924 and passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017. Cordell married Dormalee Foster on May 21, 1949. Cordell proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. After his military career he came home to Missouri, moved to St. Louis, Missouri and went into business for himself opening gas stations around the city. After selling the stations he and Dormalee settled into St. James, Missouri where they opened and operated Watson's Shoe Store. Cordell was a longtime member of the First Christian Church of St. James. He was very active in the St. James community receiving his first Citizen of the Year award on December 20, 1978 presented by the Lions Club for service to the Betterment of the Community. On January 20, 2004 he and Dormalee were presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award given by the St. James Chamber of Commerce for their work and support of the Chamber. He also joined the Masonic Lodge, the South Central Shrine Club, lifetime member of the VFW, Past President of the St. James Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, St. James Golf Club; Chairman of Construction of Nelson Hart park, the St. James Bicentennial, and the St. James Tree Planting Program. Cordell attended every single T-ball game, or sporting event that his grandchildren participated in. There on the bleachers sat Dormalee and Cordell offering their own cheering section to those boys.
