MO Local Obituaries for the Week of May 31, 2017 James Wesley Creson James Wesley Creson of Cuba, Missouri was born Thursday, March 27, 1952 at Springfield, Missouri to Walter and Pawnee (nee Payne) Creson and passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the age of 65 years. Wesley, as he was known by, married Patricia Michelle Engle on July 26, 1986 at Springfield, Missouri. Wesley worked as a LPN for five years before becoming a stay at home dad. After Andrea became a teenager he went back to work. He worked for Karsch' Grocery Store which became Mace's Grocery Store in Cuba, Missouri and he ended his career in the grocery business at Country Mart in Steelville, Missouri. Wesley was a natural born mechanic and his love of working on vehicles led him to his next job at O'Reilly Auto Parts store in Cuba. For the last five years Wesley had worked for Auto Zone in Sullivan, Missouri. In his spare time he did leather work, wood carvings and he enjoyed watching all the old TV shows especially the westerns. Wesley specialized in helping people, from the elderly who were ill to the young people who needed help with their cars. He never met a stranger and his gift to gab allowed him to help people every step of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Pawnee Creson; and one niece, Angie Creson. He is survived by his wife, Michelle Creson of the home; four children, Matthew and wife Heather Clary of Bourbon, Missouri, Amber Creson of Springfield, Missouri, Andrea Creson of Springfield, Missouri and Aaron and wife Login Creson of Springfield, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Taylor, Addison, Sierra, Dakota, Alexia, Rena and Pheenix; one brother, Stan Creson of Marshfield, Missouri; one sister, Deidre Creson of Springfield, Missouri; two nephews, Shane Creson and Noah Creson; one great nephew, Hunter Creson; sister-in-law, Rene and husband Doug Dahl of Kansas City, Missouri; other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life service was held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri. In keeping with Wesley's wishes he was cremated. Michele Nicole Lautenbach Michele Nicole Lautenbach of Rolla, Missouri was born on June 8, 1988 in St. Louis, Missouri to Steven Craig and Bethany Marie (Gehm) Lautenbach and passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the age of 28 years. Michele was always able to light up a room with her presence and infectious smile from the very beginning. Michele has struggled with her addiction over the past 10 years and tried repeatedly to overcome it. She had dreams of getting married and raising a family of her own. She was preceded in death by her great grandmother, Mollie Gorney; grandfather, Daniel Lautenbach; and great uncle, John Gorney. Thomas Edward "Tom" Mabe Thomas Edward "Tom" Mabe of Steelville, Missouri was born on Thursday, September 11, 1952 in Steelville, Missouri to Richard Lindell and Marie Jane (Lancaster) Mabe and passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the age of 64 years, 8 months and 14 days. Tom was a lifelong resident of Steelville, Missouri. He accepted the Lord and was of the Catholic faith. He worked for a number of years for Skip Wishon as a caretaker on his farm. After that he worked in maintenance for Brown Shoe Company in Steelville, Missouri until it closed. He then worked for Doe Run Recycling Plant in Viburnum, Missouri until he got sick. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Marie Mabe; brothers, Danny Mabe and Richard Mabe; and sister, Julie Duncan. Miller Sr. of Rolla, Missouri was born on December 30, 1936 in St. Louis, Missouri to Murphy Linwood and Edith Hallie May Miller and passed away on Wednesday May 24, 2017 at the age of 80 years, 4 months and 24 days. He married Dolores (Dee) Macovey on December 28, 1960 in Waterloo, Illinois. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers of East St. Louis, Missouri. He was a Police Officer in Washington Park, Illinois. He served as Assistant Fire Chief of French Village Section of Fairview Heights, Illinois and was one of the first EMT's in the State of Missouri. After the family moved from the St. Louis area he worked for the Salem Hospital as an EMT and also a Police Officer for the City of Salem. Chuck considered himself a good squirrel hunter and was known for his delicious BBQ. He was a great fan of John Wayne and loved to read western novels. He was preceded in death by his beloved pet, Snoopy; parents, Murphy Linwood and Edith Hallie May Miller; sister, Linda K. Spindler of Sullivan, Missouri was born August 19, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri to John and Leona (Record) Pounds and passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the age of 87 years. She grew up and attended school in various places including Sullivan, before graduating from Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, Missouri. Norma married Cranford Spindler on June 11, 1949 in Union, Missouri. Norma stayed at home while their girls were in school and eventually worked at various places in town. She was a gifted seamstress who loved sewing, crafts and crocheting. Norma also enjoyed fishing as well as playing Dominoes with her friends over the years. Norma attended First Baptist Church and New Testament Baptist Church and taught many years of Sunday School. She also served as a Brownie Leader locally. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Leona Pounds; a brother, Bob Pounds; and a sister, Shirley Landing. John Edward Williams John Edward Williams of St. James, Missouri was born Friday, March 10, 1944 at Rolla, Missouri to Arthur Thomas and Lucy Pearl (nee Mathis) Williams and passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the age of 73 years. John was united in marriage to Charlotte Ruth Jackson on October 16, 1964 at Rolla, Missouri and to this union one son was born. For nearly 20 years John was an over the road truck driver. In 1979 John became the owner and operator of Williams Insulation. During John's life he built houses, did remodeling and he could build anything and everything. John attended the Christian Church of St. James for a few years and recently he was attending the Deer Creek Church of Cuba, Missouri. In his spare time he enjoyed tractor pulls, pheasant hunting and working in his yard. John enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, JD and Paige. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lucy Williams, wife, Charlotte Williams; in-laws, Adolphus and Alice Faye Jackson; one sister, Lena and husband Austin Vogeler; and brother-in-law, Wallace Blair.
