Delmar Jerry Eaton
Delmar Jerry Eaton, age 94, of Cherryville, Missouri
passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at the Gibbs Care Center in
Steelville, Missouri. He was born Thursday, August 8, 1911 in
Davisville, Missouri, the son of William M. and Jenny L. Martin
Eaton.
He was united in marriage to Rosella Mae Lloyd on
December 21, 1961 in Salem, Missouri. She preceded him in death on
May 21, 1987.
Delmar was the last of 12 children of William and Jenny
Eaton. Those left to mourn his passing are two sisters-in-laws,
Roseann Eaton and Lorene Eaton and many nieces and nephews and other
family friends.
He is preceded in death by his four brothers, Lawrence,
Harrison, Raymond and Duel Eaton and seven sisters, Zelma Turnbough,
Thelma Worley, Bessie Worley, Esther Worley, Golden Bolling, Relda
Brakefield and Josie Quinton.
Delmar was a member of the Davisville Assembly of God
Church. He had spent his life living and working the farm.
Funeral services for Delmar Eaton were held Friday, May
26, 2006 in the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene
Thrasher. The eulogy was given by Rev. Chris Richardson.
Special music of "If We Never Meet Again" was sung by
Andrea Richardson with Jerry Beers accompanying. "I Won't Have To
Cross Jordan Alone" was sung by Jerry Beers.
Serving as casket bearers were Sonny Eaton, Larry Eaton,
Kenny Martin, James Martin, Joey Richardson and Stanley Eaton.
Serving as honorary casket bearer was Anderson Richardson.
Committal prayers and burial were held in the First
Baptist Church Cemetery in Cherryville, Missouri.
All arrangements were under the direction of the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, Missouri.
Mavis Lucille Slowensky
Mavis Lucille Slowensky was born Monday, September 1,
1919, in Shirley, Missouri the daughter of William and Bertha Vieten
Manion and entered into eternal rest Saturday May 20, 2006 at Phelps
County Regional Medical Center.
She was united in marriage on December 10, 1939 in
Shirley, Missouri to Raymond Wilford Slowensky. One son was born to
this union. They enjoyed 60 years together before Raymond's death on
October 16, 2000. On July 26, 2005, their only son, Raymond William
"Bill" Slowensky, passed away.
Among those who remain are, her daughter-in-law, Jean
Slowensky of Steelville, Missouri; grandson, John and wife Molly
Slowensky of St. James, Missouri; and one great granddaughter, Riley
Slowensky; many nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by seven brothers,
Kermit, Claude, Leo, Frank, Clifton, Floyd, and Walter Manion and
two sisters, Fern Perkins and Norma Faye Fronk.
Mavis will be remembered for her love of the family
farm, which the whole Slowensky family received recognition as a
Missouri Century Farm by the College of Agriculture at the
University of Missouri. Mavis loved gardening, cooking, canning and
time with her family. She was a member of the Huzzah Baptist Church
and had taught Sunday School and had been the song leader.
Services were held Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at the
Britton-Bennett Chapel with Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Special
music of "Just A Closer Walk" and "I Come To The Garden" were sung
by Brother Mike Cooper.
Serving as casket bearers were: David Stroud, Steven
Pulley, Carl Brandt, John Perkins, Scott Manion, and Joe Stein with
burial and committal Prayers in the Steelville Cemetery.
All arrangements were under the direction of the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, Missouri.
Susan Kay Watson
Susan Kay Watson of Bourbon, Missouri passed away on
Monday, May 22, 2006 at the age of 53 years.
Susan was born on April 24, 1953 in Kirkwood, Missouri
to Edward and Dorothy (nee Rasch) Sontag, one of four children.
After graduating high school, she married Lloyd Paul
Watson on November 28, 1970 in Ellisville, Missouri. To this
marriage, two daughters were born, Nicole and Michelle.
Her attention to detail and sweet spirit, served well as
she tended to her flowers and precious grandchildren. She enjoyed
her church and shopping.
Susan is survived by her husband, Lloyd Paul Watson; two
daughters, Nicole Butyenek and husband Danny of Leasburg, Missouri
and Michelle Volkmann and husband Scott of Bourbon, Missouri; two
brothers, James Sontag and wife Kathy of Ellisville, Missouri and
Richard Sontag of Kenosha, Wisconsin; one sister, Cindy Soukup and
husband Rick of Ellisville, Missouri; five grandchildren, Jordan,
Lane and Lacie Volkmann and Jake and Brett Butyenek; nieces, nephews
and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services for Susan Watson were conducted at 11
a.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2006 from the Living Word Church in
Leasburg, Missouri with Pastor James Delacourt officiating.
Interment was in the Sweet Home-Watson Family Cemetery.
All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton
Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
