Harry Paul Bouse, Jr.
Harry Paul Bouse, Jr. of Cuba, Missouri was born on October 1, 1941 at
Potosi, Missouri to the union of Harry Paul Bouse, Sr. and Iva Elizabeth
(Pharis) Bouse and passed away on May 23, 2002 at Cuba, Missouri at the age
of 60 years 7 months and 22 days.
Those who survive to mourn his passing are his daughter Debbie Crider and
husband Ronnie; two stepdaughters Carla Beal and Pam Foust and husband Lee;
three brothers Fred Bouse and wife Wilma, Larry Bouse and wife Alberta, and
Russell Bouse and wife Charlotte; three grandchildren; nieces, nephews,
other relatives and many friends.
Harry was a loving father, step-father, grandfather, brother, good friend
to all who knew him and will be sadly missed.
Harry Paul Bouse, Jr. was in state at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba,
Missouri where funeral services were held on Saturday, May 25 at 1 p.m.
with Rev. Haskell Bridgeman officiating. Interment was in the Kinder
Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. All arrangements were under the direction of the
Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Rodney L. Day
Rodney L. Day of Cuba, Mo. passed away on Friday, May 31, 2002 at the age
of 45 years.
Mr. Day was born on February 25, 1957 in White Plains, Nevada to Oran Ewell
and Rachel (Lee) Day. He made the Bourbon and Sullivan area his home for
approximately seventeen years. Throughout his adult life Rodney worked as a
cook and a restaurant manager. On March 15, 1995 he was united in marriage
to Elizabeth Leibert in Steelville, Mo. Rodney enjoyed fishing, camping,
boating, and also found pleasure in building things around the family home.
He will be remembered and cherished as a very warm-hearted man who would
"give you the shirt off of his back."
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Day of Cuba; his mother, Rachel Hodge
of the state of Mississippi; four brothers, Ewell Day and wife, Janet of
Bourbon, Mo., Mike Day and wife, Elaine, of Medford, Oregon, David Day and
wife, Laurie, and Jerry Day, all of the state of Mississippi; other
relatives, and friends. In addition to his father, Rodney was preceded in
death by his sister, Zetta Day.
A memorial service was conducted at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2002 from the
Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Tom Wehrman
officiating.
Raymond Joseph Droney
Raymond Joseph Droney, 73, Viburnum, Missouri, died May 22, 2002 at St.
Joseph's Hospital in Kirkwood, Missouri, after a two-month illness.
He was born March 1, 1929 in DuBois, Pennsylvania. He was the youngest of
six sons of Mary Burton Droney. He was raised in Erie, Pennsylvania at St.
Joseph's Orphanage. He attended Cathedral Preparatory School for Boys.
After graduation in 1948, he served as a yeoman in the U.S. Navy from 1948
to 1952. He retired from the reserves later in life and was honorably
discharged from the United States Air Force on June 3, 1983 as Lt. Colonel.
He attended the University of Detroit Mercy in Detroit, Michigan. He
graduated from the Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1960. He
served as a physician for the Doe Run Lead Mining Company and for the
citizens of Viburnum, Missouri from 1978 to his retirement in 1998.
His first wife, Bonnie Bonn Droney of Detroit, Michigan and his second wife
Verda Dorine Drummond Droney of Mansfield, Missouri preceded him in death.
Four brothers also preceded him in death, Theodore of Florida, Kenneth of
Utah, Jerome of New York, Frederick of Pennsylvania and one child Denise
Droney.
He is survived by seven children, John Droney and wife LaDonna of Visalia,
California; Sheryl Doggett of Kent, Ohio; Susan Barthelow and husband Terry
of Springfield, Missouri; Norah Droney of Rolla, Missouri; Frederick Droney
and wife Barbara of Manchester, Missouri; Benjamin Droney of Maryland
Heights, Missouri; and Robert Droney of Florissant, Missouri.
One brother, Lawrence Droney of Erie, Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren and
one great grandchild also survives him.
He was a member of St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church of Viburnum, Missouri,
a life member of the American Legion Post 0601 and 1st Degree member of the
Knights of Columbus of Salem, Missouri.
Raymond Joseph Droney lay in state at the Britton Funeral Home, Steelville,
Missouri from 79 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2002, with prayer service at 7
p.m. conducted by Father Dan Hirtz.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2002 at St. Philips
Benizi Catholic Church, Viburnum, Missouri with Father Unterreiner and
Father Anthony Gaydos officiating.
Committal prayers and interment were in St. Philips Benizi Church Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Fred, Robert and Ben Droney, Martin Mazzei,
Herman Tiepelman and Dan Schmidt.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home,
Steelville, Missouri.
Howard Owens Fry III
Howard Owens Fry III of St. Louis, Mo. was born on January 29, 1964 in St.
Louis, Mo. and passed away suddenly on May 30, 2002 in St. Louis, Mo., at
the age of 38 years, 4 months and 1 day.
Howard worked for Master Card as a computer program analyst.
He had a great zest for life, worked hard and enjoyed spending time with
his many friends.
Those who survived to mourn his passing from this life are his loving
mother Goldie Gibson; father Howard O. Fry II and wife Doris; three
brothers Zeno Fry, Jerry Stasiak and Adam Fry and wife Amy; aunts Wilma
Weathers and Shirley Brown; uncles Ervin Bollinger, Jim Fry and Rollen Fry;
two nieces Breanna and Rachel Fry; and multiple friends.
Howard was a loving son, brother, nephew, uncle, good friend to all who
knew him and will be sadly missed.

where funeral services were held on Monday, June 3, 2002 at 11 a.m. with
Rev. Larry Buettner officiating. Interment was in the Kinder Cemetery,

Home of Cuba, Mo.
Mary Ursula Gunn
Mary Ursula Gunn of Cuba, Mo. was born on July 6, 1910 at St. Louis, Mo. to
the union of William Henry Gunn and Lillian Pearl (Cook) Gunn and passed
away on May 27, 2002 at Cuba, Mo. at the age of 91 years, 10 months and 21
days.
Ursula was preceded in death by her parents and one brother William "Budge"
Gunn.
She was a member of the Cuba United Methodist Church of Cuba, Mo.
Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life are her loving sister
Helen Hyacinth Gunn; one brother Daniel Christopher Gunn; nieces and
nephews, Lillian McCann, Bill Gunn, Bobby Gunn, Margaret Rousset, Buddy
Gunn, Mary Gunn, Christine Durbin, Catherine Goyette and Winifred Gunn;
cousins, Frances Nixon and Wilbur Cook; other relatives and friends.
Ursula was a loving sister, aunt, good friend to all who knew her and will
be sadly missed.

where funeral services were held on Thursday, May 30, 2002 at 11 a.m. with
Rev. Mike Hannah officiating. Interment was in the Lea Cemetery, Leasburg,
Mo. All arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home
of Cuba, Mo.
Lemoin Morrison
Lemoin Morrison nee Baker was born Saturday, August 26, 1923, at Dillard,
Mo., a daughter of the late Lou Stephen Baker and Vesta (Halbert) Baker.
She departed this life Sunday, May 19, 2002, at her home in Cuba, Mo., at
the age of 78 years, 8 months and 23 days.
Lemoin was married to Fennel Moutray. Three daughters were born to this
union. She later married Lloyd Morrison. They had one son, Donnie Lloyd
Morrison. Donnie preceded her in death, October 21, 1973 and Lloyd preceded
her in death June 28, 1982. One brother, Dorman Baker and one sister, Elsie
Moutray also preceded her in death.
Among those who remain to mourn her passing are her three daughters, Maxine
and husband Larry Heft of Jefferson City, Mo., Mary Ann Bailey of Holt
Summit, Mo. and Bonnie and husband David Callahan of Cuba, Mo.; eleven
grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
Also remaining are brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lennie and Alma
Morrison, Naomi Richardson, all of St. Clair, Mo., Claude and Mary Morrison
of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Irene McKinley of Steelville, Mo., Norma and
Loman Duke of Arnold, Mo., Mary Ann and Cliff Thompson; other relatives and
friends.
Lemoin Morrison lay in state after 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at the
Britton Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2002 in the Britton
Chapel with Rev. Clarence Morrison officiating.
Committal prayers and interment were in Freeman Cemetery, Cherryville, Mo.
Serving as pallbearers were Mike Callahan, Lonnie Dickens, Alan Laws,
Claude Morrison, Stan Prince and Jerry Schneider.
Arrangements were under the direction of Britton Funeral Home, Steelville,
Mo.
Donna Sue Roberts
Donna Sue Roberts nee Potter was born in Steelville, Mo., Sunday, August
23, 1953, a daughter of Louis B. Potter and Daphyne Sellers Potter. She
entered eternal life Sunday, May 26, 2002, at the home of her parents,
Steelville, Mo., at the age of 48 years, 9 months and 3 days.
Among those who remain to mourn her passing are her husband Timothy C.
Roberts; her parents Louis and Daphyne (Sellers) Potter, all of Steelville,
Mo.; father-in-law, Lloyd Roberts of Salem, Mo.; two sons, Andrew Jay
Harris of West Palm Beach, Florida and Robert Daniel Harris of Cuba, Mo.
Three sisters, Sandy Johnson and husband Denny of Mt. Vernon, Illinois,
Linda Brand and husband Thomas of Hazelwood, Mo. and Debbie Smith and
husband Charles of Steelville, Mo.; brother-in-law, Daniel Roberts of
Ironton, Mo.; step-daughter, Jodi Anne Roberts of New Orleans, Louisiana;
nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
One brother, Denny G. Potter, her mother-in-law, Leattrice Roberts and one
stepdaughter, Amy Marie Roberts, preceded Donna in death.
Donna Sue Roberts (nee Potter) lay in state 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, May 29,
2002, at the Britton Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2002, in the Britton
Chapel with Rev. Chuck Whitmire and Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. Rev.
Beers, Bruce Turnbough, Kati and Kassi Johnson provided the music.
Committal prayers and interment were in the Steelville Cemetery,
Steelville, Mo. Serving as pallbearers were nephews, Jeffery Johnson, Chris
Johnson, Bart Johnson, James Brand, Russell Brand, Mat Smith, Lucas Smith
and Corey Johnson.
Arrangements were under the direction of Britton Funeral Home, Steelville,
Mo.
Bernard Joseph Sagel
Bernard Joseph Sagel of Cuba, Mo. was born on May 15, 1950 to the union of
Timothy Sagel and Mary (Birmingham) Sagel and passed away on May 29, 2002
at Cuba, Mo. at the age of 52 years and 14 days.
Bernard was preceded in death by his father, Timothy Sagel.
He was retired out of the Army and returned to the Cuba area after
retirement. He was a member of Holy Cross Church of Cuba, Mo.
Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life are his loving
mother, Mary Sagel; six brothers Phillip (Lois) Sagel, Tom Sagel, Albert
(Betty) Sagel, Steve (Sue) Sagel, Paul Sagel and Eddie (Terry) Sagel; four
sisters Margaret Hoke, Teresa (Steve) De Pauw, Elizabeth (Edward) Garner
and Alice Rodrequiz; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Bernard was a loving son, brother, uncle, good friend to all who knew him
and will be sadly missed.
Bernard Joseph Sagel was in state at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Mo.
where prayer services were held on Friday, May 31, 2002 at 7 p.m. Funeral
Mass was held on Saturday, June 1, 2002 at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Church of
Cuba, Mo. with Father Bob Duesdieker officiating. Interment was in the Holy
Cross Cemetery, Cuba, Mo. All arrangements under the direction of the
Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Mo.
Mary Elizabeth Schwarze
Mary Elizabeth Schwarze of Cuba, Missouri passed away Friday, May 24, 2002
at the age of 86 years. She was born on May 20, 1916 the daughter of the
late Frank X. Schwarze and Johanna (Demming) Schwarze.
Beloved sister of William (Constance) Schwarze, Antonia (Emil) Datesh,
Henrietta Schwarze; aunt of Dr. Martin (Janet) Schwarze, Dr. Robert (Donna)
Schwarze, Mary Constance Schwarze, Dr. Daniel (Laurie) Schwarze, Barbara
Datesh (Steven Kraus), Jacqueline Mead (William, Jr.), Larry Datesh
(Ellen), James Datesh (Rose), Elizabeth Poloere (Dennis), also great
nephews and nieces, great great nephews and nieces and many friends.
Mary Elizabeth Schwarze was cremated and no public services were held.
Masses preferred. All arrangements under the direction of the Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Martha Virginia Tappen
Martha Virginia Tappen nee Anderson of Cuba, Missouri (formerly of Lyons,
Kansas) was born on August 12, 1915 at Lyons, Kansas to the union of Worth
Anderson and Emily (Nellis) Anderson and passed away on May 26, 2002 at her
home in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 86 years 9 months and 14 days.
On April 10, 1932 Martha was united in marriage to Russell Tappen at
McPherson, Kansas. Two children, Karen and Arlen, were born to this union.
They were happily married until Russell preceded her in death on June 21,
1991.
Martha was also preceded in death by her parents.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Lyons, Kansas, Pass
Worthy Marton of the Chase Eastern Star and a member of the Mariners.
Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life are her loving
daughter Karen Williams and husband Richard; one son Arlen Tappen and wife
Dee; two sisters Helen Smith and Lucille Huffman; our dear grandmother;
great grandmother; aunt; relative and friend.
Martha was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother,
sister, good friend to all who knew her and will be sadly missed.
Martha Virginia Tappen nee Anderson was in state at the Britton Funeral
Home, Cuba, Missouri on Tuesday, May 28, 2002. Funeral services were held
on Thursday, May 30, 2002 at 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church of
Lyons, Kansas with Rev. Tom Eastman officiating.
Interment was in the Lyons Cemetery, Lyons, Kansas. All arrangements were
under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Earl Washington Turnbough
Earl Washington Turnbough of Leasburg, Missouri was born on September 3,
1928 at Davisville, Missouri to the union of William Turnbough and Pearl
(Martin) Turnbough and passed away on May 25, 2002 at the Missouri Baptist
Hospital, Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 73 years 8 months and 22 days.
In 1947 Earl was united in marriage to Olga Scott. One son Jeff, and two
daughters Debbie and Earlene were born to this union. Olga preceded Earl in
death.
On March 25, 1970 Earl was united in marriage to Rose Savio in Steelville,
Missouri. They were happily married.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, one daugther Debbie White, two
grandchildren Kimberly and Jessica White and one brother Cletus Turnbough.
Earl had a great love of hunting, fishing and shooting pool.
Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life are his loving wife
Rose Turnbough; son Jeff Turnbough and wife Elaine; daughter Earlene Waller
and husband William; two brothers Ercie Turnbough and wife Donna and
Delbert Turnbough and wife Sharon; two sisters Marie Geller and Gladys
Parsons; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; nieces, nephews,
other relatives and many friends.
Earl Washington Turnbough was a devoted husband, loving father,
grandfather, great grandfather, brother, good friend to all who knew him
and will be sadly missed.
Earl Washington Turnbough was in state at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba,
Missouri where funeral services were held on Monday, May 27, 2002 at 11
a.m. with Rev. Stan Collins officiating. Interment was in the Meramec Hills
Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. All arrangements were under the direction of the
Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
