Pauline Glasgow
Pauline Glasgow nee Warbritton of Cuba, Missouri was born December 28, 1911
in Greenway, Arkansas to the late William and Mary nee Hollis Warbritton,
and passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2003 in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of
91 years 5 months 3 days.
In 1930 Pauline was united in marriage to Ruby Glasgow at Popular Bluff,
Missouri. One daughter, Betty, and one son, William Joseph, were born to
this union. They enjoyed over 70 years together.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents and 11 brothers and sisters.
Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life are her devoted
husband Ruby Glasgow of the home in Cuba, Missouri; her daughter Betty
Bourne and husband Larry; her son William Joseph Glasgow and wife June; six
grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren;
nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Pauline was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great
great grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to all who knew her and
will be sadly missed.
Pauline Glasgow was in state at the Britton Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri
where funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at 2 p.m. with
Rev. Bob Coleman officiating. Interment was in the Woodland Heights
Cemetery in Rector, Arkansas on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at 2 p.m.
All arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of
Cuba, Missouri.
Orville Dempsey Hedrick
Orville D. Hedrick was born Friday, March 22, 1929, at Boss, Missouri, a
son of the late Joseph Seath Hedrick and Cora Belle Hedrick (nee Kathcart).
He entered eternal rest Friday, May 30, 2003, at Stonecrest Healthcare,
Viburnum, Missouri, at the age of 74 years, 2 months and 8 days.
Orville was united in marriage to Edith Irene Kriegbaum in 1960. Six sons
and four daughters were born to this union. Edith preceded Orville in
death, May 19, 2003. Also preceding him in death were two sons, Orvin and
Clifford Hedrick.
Among those who remain to mourn his passing are four daughters, Eva Dixon
of Payson, Arizona, Sue Durrant and husband Mark, Barbara Sturdevant and
husband Matt all of Hancock, Wisconsin, Linda Hayes and husband Herbert of
Lincoln University, Pennsylvania.
Four sons, Frank Hedrick and wife Serafina of Viburnum, Missouri, Wayne
Hedrick and Ronnie Hedrick, both of Hancock, Wisconsin, Robert Hedrick of
Bonne Terre, Missouri.
Two sisters, Bonnie Bohann of Piedmont, Missouri, and Ruby Edith Yarbough
of Arizona; two brothers, Johnny Hedrick of Mineral Point, Missouri and
Thomas Hedrick of Illinois; 15 grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Orville Dempsey Hedrick lay in state after 11 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2003 at
the Britton Brothers Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2003 in the Britton
Chapel with Rev. Paul Davis officiating.
Committal prayers and interment were in Boss Cemetery, Boss, Missouri.
Serving as pallbearers were Mark Durrant, Dennis Ray Hedrick, Steve
Hedrick, Waylon R. Hedrick, Cecil S. Orr, and Darrell Pryor.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home,
Steelville, Missouri.
Lida H. Hendrix
Lida H. Hendrix nee Martin was born February 21, 1912 in Cherryville,
Missouri to the late William Madison Martin and Mary Elizabeth Wisdom and
departed this life May 23, 2003 at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center in
St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 91 years 3 months and 2 days.
Lida attended school through eighth grade at Cherryville, Missouri. She
lived on the family farm and was responsible for most of the cooking from
the age of 15 through 25 at which time she married and later graduated high
school in Dillard, Missouri where her husband Arthur taught.
Lida married Arthur William Hendrix on August 11, 1937 in St. Charles,
Missouri and to this union three children were born.
She and Arthur lived at Butts, Missouri where he taught school, later
moving to Dillard, Missouri, and then to St. Louis, Missouri. She was proud
of the fact that she took a few college courses while Arthur earned his
degree.
Lida was a homemaker in every sense of the word. She loved providing for
her family, taking care of their home, and doing yard work. She enjoyed
drawing, working word search puzzles and sewing.
Lida accepted the Lord early in life and she and Arthur were very active in
church throughout their lives. They were members of Tower Grove Baptist
Church for approximately 40 years. She taught Sunday school, Training
Union, worked in Bible Schools, sang in the Choir, and was at church every
time the church doors were open. Lida lived a very full life; she enjoyed
traveling with her family. She amazed most people in that she never looked
or acted her age. She was doing things at 90 that many people couldn't or
wouldn't attempt to do in their 70s.
Lida was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur, sisters Orene
Eaton and husband John, Pearl Scott and husband Perry, brothers Kenneth and
wife Delma Martin, and Trenton and Bessie Martin, half sisters Virgie
Fleta, Marjorie Stafford House, Beulah Martin, Nora Martin, and Edith
Cummins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Gene Lovan, Raymond and Roberta
White and Stanley Hendrix.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are her loving children Dr. Ronald
Hendrix and wife Miriam of Hinsdale, Illinois, Gary Hendrix of Steelville,
Missouri, Pamela Hutson and husband Paul of Steelville, Missouri; one
granddaughter Corrie Hendrix of Florissant, Missouri; three step
granddaughters Rheanne, Kayla and Paula Hutson of Steelville, Missouri.
Two sisters Daphne Gahr of Salem, Missouri, Juanita Morgan and huband
Marrlan of Bourbon, Missouri; one brother Dewayne Martin and wife Lena of
Cuba, Missouri; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Artie Lovan of Kirkwood,
Missouri, Jewel Hendrix and wife Gladine of Farmington, Missouri, and Ruth
Hendrix of Camdenton, Missouri; nieces; nephews, cousins and friends all
who will sadly miss and fondly remember Lida Martin Hendrix.
Visitation was held Tuesday, May 27, 2003 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the
Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Hutson
Funeral Chapel in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Delmar B. Hutson and Rev.
Lynn Stroup officiating.
Pallbearers were Jerry Martin, Lawrence Lovan, Richard Lovan, Bill Gahr,
Leon Morgan and Treff Earney. Music selections were "It is no secret what
God can do", "Whispering Hope", and "Sheltered in the arms of God" sang by
Paul K. Hutson and accompanied by Helen Platter on piano.
Burial was in the Moutray Cemetery in Steelville, Missouri.
All arrangements under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home in
Steelville, Missouri.
Roberta Arlene Hudson
Roberta Arlene Hudson nee Land was born Thursday, October 13, 1921, at
Steelville, Missouri, a daughter of the late Robert Lee Land, Sr. and Ruth
Ann (Burke) Land.
She entered eternal rest Friday, May 30, 2003, at the Phelps County
Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Missouri, at the age of 81 years, 7
months and 17 days.
Roberta served her country in the United States Coast Guard, enlisting
February 9, 1943. She received the rank of Chief Yeoman and received an
Honorable Discharge from the Separation Center, Boston, Massachusetts on
May 24, 1946. She remarked to her family, "It was three of the most
enjoyable years of my life."
She was united in marriage to Dorse Hudson and one son, Gary, was born to
this union. Dorse preceded her in death, as did her parents and one sister,
Dorothy Mae Land.
Among those who remain to mourn her passing are her devoted son and
daughter-in-law, Gary and Margaret Ann "Peggy" Hudson of Edwardsville,
Illinois; one brother, Robert Lee Land, Jr. of Steelville, Missouri;
nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Roberta Arlene Hudson lay in state 5-8 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2003 at the
Britton Brothers Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2003 in the Britton
Chapel with Rev. Jim Simmons officiating.
Committal prayers and interment were in Steelville Cemetery, Steelville,
Missouri.
Serving as pallbearers were John Carr, Jeff Land, Natalice Radthe, Richard
Risku, Robert F. Rohrer and Chris Turnbough.
All arrangements under the direction of the Britton Brothers Funeral Home,
Steelville, Missouri.
Joseph William Patrick, Sr.
Joseph William Patrick, Sr. of Cuba, Mo. was born on May 8, 1920 to the
union of Henry Pietrzak and Sophie Morawski Pietrzak and passed away on
June 4, 2003 at Cuba, Mo. at the age of 83 years, 26 days.
On March 17, 1943 Joe was united in marriage to Freida Mae Roux in St.
Louis, Mo. One son, Joseph, Jr. and four daughters, Judith, Kathleen,
Deborah and Kimberly were born to this union. They were happily married for
60 years.
On March 11, 1943 Joe was inducted into the Army of the United States of
America and was honorably discharged on November 5, 1945. He served in the
Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Stanley Patrick and
one sister Mary Goodyear.
Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life are his devoted wife
Freida Patrick; one son, Joseph W. Patrick, Jr., and wife Doris; four
daughters, Judith Reindl and husband Robert, Kathleen Sutter, Deborah Haake
and husband Mark and Kimberly Brown and husband Dean.
Two brothers Edward Patrick and Gene Patrick and wife Chris; two sisters,
Eva Pietrzak and Vickie Benedict and husband Ben; sister-in-law Marie
Patrick; 14 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other
relatives and many friends.
Joe was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather,
brother, good friend to all who knew him and will be sadly missed.
Visitation was held on Friday, June 6, 2003 at the Britton Funeral Home,
Cuba, Mo. from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Graveside services were held on Friday,
June 6, 2003 at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo. at
2:15 p.m. All arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral
Home of Cuba, Mo.
