Loretta Burt
Loretta Burt, nee Crowder, of Riverton, Illinois, was born on
April 8, 1953 in Bourbon, Missouri to Thomas and Emma Flaim Crowder
and passed away on April 22, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center at
the age of 60 years.
Loretta practiced as an LPN for many years in the Springfield,
Illinois area. She worked at the Illinois Presbyterian Home for 22
years, Roosevelt Square Assisted Living in Springfield, and at
Petersburg Manor. As well as caring for her patients Loretta dearly
loved her family, and her three Yorkies: Sarah, Barney and Binkey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Emma Crowder;
and a brother, Neal Crowder.
She is survived by her son, Christopher (Rachel) Burt of Eyota,
Minnesota; her sisters, Cynthia Perry of San Diego, California,
Viola (Ken) Moger of Harker Heights, Texas and Lucia Crowder of
Olney, Maryland; her brother, Earl (Cassandra) Crowder of New Bern,
North Carolina; step-brother, Gary (Cathy) John of St. James,
Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Memorial visitation was from 2 p.m. until the time of services
Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at the Bisch Funeral Home West in
Springfield Illinois.
Memorial service was held on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 3 p.m.
at the Bisch Funeral Home West in Springfield Illinois.

Jean N. Collias Sr.
Jean N. Collias, Sr. of Sullivan, Missouri was born to George N.
and Martha L. (Van’Buskirk) Collias on October 4, 1935 in St. Louis,
Missouri and passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Mercy Hospital
in Washington, Missouri at the age of 77 years.
Jean was united marriage to Geraldine L. “Geri” Robinson on
March 15, 1957 and to this union four children were born.
Jean was a retired truck driver, having spent many hours and days
and traveling many miles on the road. He proudly served his country
in the U.S. Navy. In his spare time he enjoyed collecting coins,
crossword puzzles, history and watching Jeopardy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Martha Collias;
wife, Geraldine L. “Geri” Collias; one brother and sister-in-law,
Bill and Nyla Mae O’Donnell.
He is survived by his four children, Jean N. Collias, Jr. of
Robertsville, Missouri, Theodore E. and wife Connie Collias of
Warrenton, Missouri, Maria L. and husband Edward Potter of Leasburg,
Missouri, Melanie and husband Larry Busse of Sullivan, Missouri; one
brother, Joe and wife Margaret Collias of St. Louis, Missouri; one
sister-in-law, Edna Kelso of St. Louis, Missouri; eight grandchildren;
seven great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Cremation rites were accorded. A memorial service will be held at a
later date.

Cuba, Missouri.
Shaun Lee Demo
Shaun Lee Damo of Steelville, Missouri was born on Thursday,
June 6, 1985 to David Peter and Gloria Jean Williams Damo and
passed away in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at
the age of 28 years and 2 days.
Shaun graduated from Steelville High School and then worked at
Meramec Shoe Industry in Sullivan, Missouri for a few years. His
hobbies were fishing and collecting Eagle figurines. He was very
patriotic and liked to play all sports. He enjoyed watching the
St. Louis Cardinal ball team.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Fred Williams and
Frank Damo and grandmother, Mary Helen Damo.
He is survived by his parents, David and Gloria Damo of Steelville,
Missouri; sisters, Sheryl Damo of Steelville, Missouri and Rebecca
Miller of Bourbon, Missouri; brother, David (Trish) Damo of
Steelville, Missouri; grandmother, Mary Williams of Mt. Olive,
Illinois; nieces, Brianna, Alaina and Jamie Miller and Trishelle
Damo; nephews, Laden Miller and Tristan Damo; caretaker Mrs. Lee
Ruck of Rolla, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, June 18, 2013 from 6-7 p.m. and Memorial
Service at 7 p.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri
with Pastor Jerry Beers officiating.

Joyce Darlene Frasure
Joyce Darlene Frasure of Mountain Home, Arkansas, was born on
May 16, 1946 in Bourbon, Missouri to Maurice and Genora (Spurgeon)
Jost and passed away Friday, May 31, 2013 at the age of 67 years.
She was raised in the Cuba, Missouri area as a child.
On April 6, 1968 she was united in marriage to Charles Kenneth
Frasure at St. Charles, Missouri.
Joyce and Charles had made their home in Mountain Home, Arkansas
since 1998.
She was known as a giving and loving woman who contributed to her
community by helping many people. Joyce was involved with the
Salvation Army Food Pantry and the Home League as a volunteer and
as a member of these organizations, her faith in God showed through.
Joyce also worked as a Park Attendant with the Army Corp of Engineers
in Mountain Home. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church
of Mountain Home, Arkansas.
She is survived by her husband, Charles of the family home; one
son, Dennis Knehans and wife Kelly of Villa Ridge, Missouri; two
daughters, Shelia Knehans of High Ridge, Missouri and Natalie Damery
and husband John of Belleville, Illinois; one brother, Bill Jost and
wife Ruth of Owensville, Missouri; one sister, Mary Lou Miller and
husband Kenny of Bourbon, Missouri; five grandchildren, Mellissa
Whitford, Charlie Scheer, Emily Damery, Molly Damery and Chloe
Knehans; one great grandchild, Brenden Whitford; other relatives
and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from 9 a.m. until
time of services at noon at the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan,
Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted at noon on Wednesday, June 5, 2013

Fellows Memorial Cemetery.

Staff Sergeant Mark Allen Byrd Gorzik, Jr.
Staff Sergeant Mark Allen Byrd Gorzik, Jr., U. S. Marine Corp, Camp
Pendleton, San Diego, California, formerly of Leasburg, Missouri,
was born at Rolla, Missouri on November 22, 1983 to Mark Byrd, Sr.
and Shelby K. Williams and passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at
the age of 29 years, 6 months and 6 days.
He was raised in the Leasburg, Missouri area and was a 2002 graduate
of Bourbon High School. After his graduation, Mark enlisted in the
U.S. Marine Corps and served three tours in Iraq and one tour in
Afghanistan. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant and was awarded
the Good Conduct Medal, two Combat Action ribbons, Afghanistan
Campaign medal, Iraq Campaign medal, gold War of Terrorism medal,
Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary medal, National Defense medal
and the NATO medal. In his free time he enjoyed the outdoors, which
included camping, hunting, fishing, golf and hiking.He was preceded
in death by his grandmothers, Nadine Waisner and Judity Ann Gorzik;
grandfather, Claude Byrd; step-grandfather, Rolla Waisner and great
grandmother, Muriel Gorzik.He is survived by a son, Adam Keith
Gorzik of San Diego, California; his father, Mark Byrd and wife
Vicki of St. James, Missouri; his mother, Shelby Gorzik and husband
Ryan of Leasburg, Missouri; a brother, Matthew Gorzik of the state
of Oregon; sisters, Amanda Shifflett and husband Marcus of Houston,
Texas, Katie Gorzik of Leasburg, Missouri, Courtney Gorzik of Leasburg;
step-sisters, Amanda Studdard of Sullivan, Missouri and Amber Roller of
St. James, Missouri; grandmother, Shirley Williams of Leasburg,

Jerry Lee Harris
Jerry Lee Harris of Cuba, Missouri was born on Thursday, July 8, 1948
in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at
the age of 64 years, 10 months and 17 days.
He spent most of his life in St. Louis, Missouri graduating from
Central High School then Vatterrott Technical School as an
engineering technician. He worked at Anheuser-Busch, then later
worked and retired from Hussman Refrigeration. He enjoyed playing
in tournament pool, fishing and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Jason Harris and
Jacob Michaels; and one sister Cindy Oker.
He is survived by his children, Raymond (Natalie) Harris of
St. Louis, Missouri, Danny (Ellen Litton) Harris of Gerald, Missouri
and Bryan (Rachel Hager) Harris of Cuba, Missouri; brother, Mark
(Patty) Harris of Cuba, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; other relatives
and friends.
No public service was held.

Leoda Mae Lister
Leoda Mae Lister of Rolla, Missouri was born in Vichy, Missouri on
September 19, 1934 to Ermil Newton and Ethel (Jurgensmeyer) Duncan
and passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at the age of 78 years.
On May 12, 1956 she married Robert Lister.
Leoda retired from the United Telephone Company after 36 years of
service, then worked an additional 16 years for the Rolla Public
Schools.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ermil and Ethel Duncan;
her brother, Leo Duncan and one brother-in-law, John Hunter.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert Lister of the
home; two children, Duane Lister and his wife Sherry of Vichy,
Missouri and Shelly Loughridge and her husband Joe of Rolla,
Missouri; two sisters, Wanda Hunter of St. James, Missouri and
Leona Sieg and husband Donald of Vichy, Missouri; one sister-in-law,
Jo Ann Duncan of Rolla, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jacob Lister
and wife Lisa of Rolla, Missouri, Adriana Loughridge and Shanna
Loughridge, both of Rolla, Missouri; two step grandchildren, Shelby
Henson and Bradley Henson; one great grandchild, Albrie Lister; other
relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2013 at the Null &
Son Funeral Home in Rolla, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the
Null & Son Funeral Home in Rolla, Missouri.
Interment followed in the Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Edith Hermine Love
Edith Hermine Love, nee Remke, was born November 16, 1916 in Chicago,
Illinois to Erick and Minnie Peth Remke and passed away Tuesday,
June 4, 2013 at her home at the age of 96 years, 6 months and 18 days.
On September 14, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois she was united in marriage
to James Francis Love.
Edith worked along side her husband in their business as the
bookkeeper at the B&B Locksmith in Chicago for over thirty years.
While living in Chicago, Edith and her husband enjoyed ballroom
dancing. In 1993, they moved to Steelville, Missouri to be closer
to their family.
She loved caring for the stray dogs and cats who wondered in her yard.
She was even known to feed the raccoons and opossums who ventured on
her deck. Edith always loved to read and watch NASCAR in her spare
time. She also was artistically talented and enjoyed painting
outdoor scenery and florals.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Erick and Minnie Remke; her
husband, James Love in 1995; sister, Maxine Urquhart and husband Don;
nephews, Bill Vickers and wife Betty Vickers Mohesky and Terry
Vickers; and niece-in-law, Terry Love.
She is survived by three nephews, Alan Vickers and wife Jeannie of
Sullivan, Missouri, Skip Love of Tennessee and John Knapik of Florida;
two nieces, Susan Dwyer and husband Dennis of New Mexico and Sharon
Simpson and husband Bob of Texas; one niece-in-law, Linda Vickers of
Sullivan, Missouri; dear friends, Art Koosman and wife Pat of Chicago,
Illinois; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2013 at the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
A funeral service was held at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2013 at the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Jerry
Beers officiating. Special music of “Herr, gib Frieden dieser Seele,”
“In the Garden” and “Amazing Grace” was played by Karin West.

Gilbert Harry Stephens Sr.
Gilbert Harry Stephens, Sr. of Hermann, Missouri was born in Red Oak,
Missouri on March 14, 1941 to Tarlton M. and Geneva (Garner) Stephens
and passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Truman VA Memorial Hospital
in Columbia. He had reached the age of 72 years, 2 months and 19 days.
On August 20, 1960 at the Port Hudson Church near Leslie he was
united in marriage to Berniece Shoemaker.
He served his country with the United States Air Force.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Stephens and three
sisters, Margie Helling, Lucy Brightenbach and Opal Klott.
He is survived by his wife, Berniece; sons, Gilbert Stephens Jr.
of Hermann, Missouri, Tracy Stephens of Owensville, Missouri and
Dale Stephens of Hermann, Missouri; two daughters, Juanita Brown
and husband Dewayne of St. James, Missouri and Angie Rehmert and
husband Scott of Owensville, Missouri; 13 grandchildren; 13 great
grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Thursday, June 6, 2012 from 9 a.m. until time of
service at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri.
Memorial service was held on Thursday, June 6 at 11 a.m. at the
Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri with Deacon
Bob DePyper officiating and with full military honors.

Marvin R. Summers
Marvin R. Summers was born to William and Elizabeth (Dace) Summers
on August 21, 1921 in Shirley, Missouri and passed away
October 30, 2012 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the age of 91 years.
Marvin was a Political Science Professor at UW-Milwaukee from 1954
to 1988. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1943
to 1946.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (nee Baugher); his
parents, William and Elizabeth (nee Dace) Summers; his brother,
Dale Winston Summers and his wife Edna; and his dear friend,
Estella “Tuttie” Pedersen.
He is survived by his son, Gregory and wife Ellen Summers of
Fishers, Indiana; two grandchildren, Allison and Duncan Summers;
other relatives and friends.
A memorial visitation to celebrate Marvin’s life will be held on
Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 3 p.m. until time of memorial service
at 4:30 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Dace, officiating.
Private burial will take place at Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba,
Missouri.

Leroy Tidwell
Leroy Tidwell of Cherryville, Missouri was born in Milan, Tennessee on
Thursday, September 5, 1935 to John and Doxie Casey Tidwell and passed
away on Friday, June 7, 2013 at the age of 77 years, 9 months
and 2 days.
Leroy married Barbara Jean Green on May 1, 1955 in Steelville,
Missouri at the Assembly of God Church on Main Street.
He worked for 33 years at Universal Printing Co., St. Louis, Missouri
and retired in 1995. He accepted the Lord early in life and was a
member of the Center Ridge Pentecostal Church. He loved music and
played his harmonica for several years and especially enjoyed playing
it in church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Doxie Tidwell;
step-mother, Effie Tidwell; infant daughter, Cathy Lee Tidwell;
brothers, Paul Tidwell and Joey Tidwell; sister, Juanese Ufkin;
brothers-in-law, John Green, Jr. and Kenny Green.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Tidwell of Cherryville,
Missouri; daughters, Regina (Dan) Bilgere of St. Louis, Missouri
and Holly (Art) Kreienkamp of Cuba, Missouri; brothers, Fred Tidwell
of O’Fallon, Missouri, Elmer (Mary) Tidwell of San Diego, California,
Terry (Jane) Tidwell of Iloilo, Philippines, Cleo (Melba) Amarine
of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; sisters, Joan (Bob) Bosma of Boonville,
Missouri and Wanda (Bill) Trent of O’Fallon, Missouri; sisters-in-law
and brothers-in-law, Betty Tidwell of St. Louis, Missouri, Ellie
Tidwell of Rockford, Illinois, Marie Martin, Oma Smith and Harold
(Linda) Green, all of Cherryville, Missouri, Jim Green and Joe (Glenda)

Burial at the Martin-Trask Cemetery, Cherryville, Missouri.
