Willa Bea Chrisco
Willa Bea Chrisco was born March 10, 1934 at Shannon County, Missouri and
passed away June 3, 2010 in St. Louis, Mo. at the age of 76 years.
On May 12, 1951, she was united in marriage to William Dan Chrisco and to the
marriage two children were born.
Willa was employed as a factory worker for several years and had made her
home in Salem, Missouri since 2003. She was baptized a Jehovah’s
Witness on September 5, 1987.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bertha Derryberry;
husband, William Dan Chrisco: one brother, Bob Derryberry; two sisters,
Louise Ellerman and Joyce Baugh, and one step son, Vernon Chrisco.
Survivors include: two children, Jimmy Chrisco of Arkansas and Susan Ard and
husband David of Salem, Missouri; two step sons, David Chrisco of Salem,
Missouri and Donald Chrisco and wife Jerry Ann of Cuba, Missouri; three
sisters, Elsie Briggs of Summersville, Missouri, Emogene Prater and
Virginia Keys of Illinois; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren;
10 step grandchildren; many step great grandchildren; other relatives and
friends.
Memorial service was Saturday, June 5, 2010 in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah
Witnesses with Russell Blattner officiating.

Lenna O. Doss nee Sanders of Steelville, Missouri was born on Tuesday,
September 12, 1922 in Waurika, Oklahoma to James Herkley Sanders and Bertha
Delle Faulkner Sanders and passed away on Monday, June 7, 2010 at Cuba Manor
at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 26 days.
Lenna married Harold Clinton Doss in Owensville, Missouri on August 10, 1940
and to this union one son was born.
Lenna was a homemaker and enjoyed working with flowers, gardening, quilting,
sewing, and knitting. She was a member of the First Baptist Church,
Steelville, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Bertha Sanders; parents-
in-law, Claude and Mary Doss; brothers, Vernon (Agnus) Sanders, James “Bud”
(Delores) Sanders, Jr. and Joshua “J.T.” (Lila) Sanders; sisters, infant
Lois Elizabeth Sanders, Pearl (Arthur) Krueger and Bertha Sanders.
She is survived by her son, Donald (Judith A.) Doss of Cuba, Missouri;
brother, Thomas Otis (Doris) Sanders of Madison, Illinois; sister, Gloria
Lee (Bill) Coffman of Steelville, Missouri; step grandson, Michael J. Tivoli
of Vichy, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Wednesday, June 9, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. and Funeral Service
Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville,
Missouri with Pastor Kevin Farr officiating.
Burial was at the Steelville Cemetery.

Gladys Eaton
Gladys Eaton, nee Caringer of Steelville, Missouri, formerly of Cherry-
ville, Missouri was born Friday, November 5, 1920 at Huzzah, Missouri to
Charles Caringer and Jennie (Huitt) Caringer and passed away Sunday,
June 6, 2010 at Gibbs Care Center in Steelville, Missouri at the age of
89 years.
On June 7, 1941 in Steelville, Missouri, she was united in marriage to
Wilbur Eaton who preceded her in death in March of 1988.
Gladys had attended the First Baptist Church at Cherryville and was a
charter member.
She loved the outdoors with all of her flowers, plants and bountiful garden.
In her spare time, she became an expert at needlework and made many
beautiful quilts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Jennie Caringer; her
husband, Wilbur; one brother, Bill Caringer and wife Ina; two sisters, Eula
Cisler and husband Ray and Eva Kehner and husband Winston; brother-in-law,
Bryan Preston Eaton and wife Pansy; and two sisters-in-law, Alma Worley and
husband Eugene and Sybil Earls and husband Carson.
She is survived by one son, Wilbur Ray Eaton and wife Diana of Benton,
Kentucky; two daughters, Wilma Faye Eaton of St. Louis, Missouri and Norma
Brady and Harold of St. Charles, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Keith Brady,
Roger Brady, Stephen Eaton, Andrea Pritchard, Ryan Eaton, Aubrey Simpson and
Aarin Eaton; four great grandchildren, Madelyn Brady, Blaine Brady, Peyton
Pritchard and Adley Simpson; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at the Britton-
Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at the
First Baptist Church in Cherryville, Missouri. with Rev. Jim Chilton
officiating. Special music of “Mansion Over the Hilltop” and “Precious
Memories” was sang and played by Alice and Rob Morton.
Casket bearers were Jack England, Terry England, Stephen Eaton, Keith
Brady, Roger Brady and Travis Caringer.
Committal prayer and burial were in the Cherryville Baptist Cemetery.

Tracy Erlea Forester of Edgar Springs, Missouri was born in Houston,
Missouri on January 20, 1972 to Gary and Mary (York) Wilson and passed away
on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at the age of 38.
She is survived by her son, Joshua Eugene Forester of the home; parents,
Gary and Mary Wilson of Duke, Missouri; brother, Gary Lee Wilson and wife
Debra of St. James, Missouri; nephew, Garrett Wilson of St. James, Missouri;
other relatives and friends.

Mabel Anna Hebberger
Mabel Anna Hebberger of St. James, Missouri was born in Hawkeye, Missouri
on November 14, 1912 to Frank and Clara (Groff) Ferguson and passed away
Sunday, June 13, 2010 in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 97 years.
In 1932 Mabel Anna Ferguson was united in marriage to Paul Hebberger and to
this union three children were born.
Paul was the Pastor of the Trinity Episcopal Church of St. James, Missouri
for almost 50 years. With her husband as the pastor she was a very active
member and was the church organist for 29 years. Mabel loved to play golf
and did whenever she could. She always looked forward to spring and the
start of golf season.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Clara Ferguson; husband,
Paul Hebberger; daughter, Janet Bauer and sister, Dorcus Louis.
She is survived by her daughter, JoAnna Hebberger, of Des Moines, Iowa; son,
Robert Paul Hebberger of Clearwater, Florida; sister, Marion Lewis of
St. Louis, Missouri; four grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
A visitation was held prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. in the Trinity
Episcopal Church Rectory.
Funeral service was Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at the Trinity Episcopal Church
in St. James, Missouri at 11 a.m. with Reverend Steve Barber officiating.
Interment in the St. James Cemetery, St. James, Missouri.

Eva V. Hoth
Eva V. Hoth of Cuba, Missouri and St Peters, Missouri this past year,
passed away Saturday May 29, 2010 at the age of 88 years.
Eva emigrated from Budapest, Hungary and became an American citizen in 1950.
She retired after 30 years as an Interior Decorator longest at Holscher
Wernig, St Louis. She loved cooking, gardening, and collecting fine arts
and glassware. She and Paul had a happy retirement puttering around Cuba
and the vicinity everywhere inseparably.
She will be missed for her accent, tireless energy and willful fiery
personality. She made everyone believe you could do anything you set your
mind to.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Hoth in 2005.
She is survived by her children, Aniko Florian, Z. Peter Florian and,
Ildiko Solly; daughter-in-law, Jackie Florian; grandchildren, Jennifer
Dusin, Michael Januskevicius, Drew Florian, Brian Florian, Daniel Florian,
Anli Solly, Meilan Solly; two great grandchildren; stepchildren, Pamela
Stolten, Deborah Gutbier and Jacqueline Morrill and their spouses and
families; many supportive and friends in Cuba, Missouri and recently in her
last year in St. Peters too.
Memorial service will be at Oak Tree Village Retirement Community,
St Peters, Missouri on Saturday June 19, 2010 at 11 a.m.
Internment will be at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri on Sunday,
June 20 with family.
Christopher L. Joseph
Christopher L. Joseph of Cuba, Missouri, formerly of Washington, Missouri,
was born January 1, 1983 at St. Louis, Missouri to Bradford C. and Teresa
(nee Jansen) Joseph and passed away Sunday, June 6, 2010 at the age of 27
years.
Christopher graduated from Washington High School and was employed by
Castle Contracting as a heavy equipment operator.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Teresa and grandfather, Forrest
Joseph.
He is survived by his father Brad and his step mother, Linda Joseph of
New Haven, Missouri; sister, Michelle Gerdes and husband Doug of New Haven,
Missouri; grandparents, Murial Joseph of St. Louis, Missouri and Al and
Shirley Jansen of Granite City, Illinois; niece and nephew, Emma and

Opal L. Lorts was born June 24, 1918 in Rolla, Missouri to Roy and Nellie
Benson and passed away June 7, 2010 in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 91
years
Opal was a member of the First Christian Church in Rolla, Missouri. She
owned and operated Lorts Grocery Store in Rolla for 35 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Nellie Benson; husband,
Leo Lorts (2008) and her brother, Bud Benson.
She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

John Manues
John Manues of Sullivan, Missouri was born on November 19, 1936 in
St. Louis, Missouri to John Golden Manues and Bertha May Christeson Manues
and passed away on Monday, June 7, 2010 at the age of 73 years, 6 months
and 19 days.
John served honorably in the United States Air Force.
He married Audrey Lois Railey on April 30, 1955 in Houston, Texas and to
this union four children were born.
He retired as a truck driver working most recently for KLLM Trucking Co.
in Jackson, MS. He was a former member of the Teamsters Union in California.
His hobbies were bowling and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bertha Manues; brothers,
Raymond Manues, Eddie (Josephine) Barber and Jim (Geneva) Barber; sister,
Sandra Husch; brother-in-law, Larry Railey; sister-in-law, Mary Helen Storey

Donna Sue McCall
Donna Sue McCall (nee Streiler) of Steelville, Missouri was born on
Saturday, October 11, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri to Donald Eugene Streiler
and Louise Hardin and passed away on Sunday June 6, 2010 in Steelville,
Missouri at the age of 62 years, 7 months and 26 days.
She married Ronald Wayne McCall in Chicago on March 5, 1965.
She worked initially as a seamstress in Chicago for the Armani Company and
taught sewing. Later, she worked for over 20 years at Brown Shoe Company as
a stitcher. Her hobbies were painting, sewing, carpentry and crafts. She
loved her family and her Sheltie dog Maggie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Louise Streiler;
brother, Donald Eugene Streiler; daughter, Tricia Louise McCall and step-
father, James Ralph Hardin.
She is survived by her children, Virginia Jenny McCall (Henry) Gibson of
Steelville, Missouri and Ronda St. John (friend Mike) of Tucson, Arizona;

Maud E. McDaniel of Sullivan, Missouri was born on October 5, 1922, in
Steelville, Missouri to Fritz and Cora (nee Land) Weber and passed away on
Sunday, June 6, 2010 at the age of 87 years.
She was a long time member of 1st Baptist Church of Stanton, Missouri. She
was known by her family as a woman of few words and a great cook who
enjoyed sharing with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clyde, Charles, and Leslie
Weber.
She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Beers of Sullivan, Missouri; son,
Ronald D. McDaniel and wife Becky of Union, Missouri; six grandchildren,
Darrell Beers, Cory and Colten McDaniel, Josh and Adam Schmidt and Rachel
Lasswell; five great grandchildren, Kadenn, Ruby, Isaac, Charlie and Gabe;
other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, in
the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri, with Pastor
Scott Perry officiating.

Amerson T. Pratt
Amerson T. Pratt of St. James, Missouri was born in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas
to William and Mattie May (Gaines) Pratt and passed away June 11, 2010 at
the age of 74 years.
Amerson was united in marriage to Ruth Meyer on December 31, 1953 and to
this union four children were born.
He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Rolla, Missouri
where he served as a Deacon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, country music
and home cooking; spending time with family and friends, serving the Lord,
reading the bible and being active in the church.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth of 57 years, of St. James, Missouri;
children, Amos Pratt and wife Sue of St. Louis, Missouri, Deborah Jenkins
and husband Tom of Dover, Delaware, Daniel Pratt of St. James, Missouri,
Phil Brown and wife Carolyn of St. Louis, Missouri; brothers, Andy Pratt
and wife Patty of St. Louis, Missouri, Huey Pratt of Gray Summit, Missouri;
sister, Tippie West of St. Louis, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; other
relatives and friends.

William Clay Richardson
William Clay Richardson of rural Steelville, Missouri was born
August 11, 1947 to Houston Richardson and Capitola Madiline (Sain)
Richardson in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and passed away Thursday,
June 10, 2010 at his home at the age of 62 years.
On July 18, 1970 in Florence, Alabama, he was united in marriage to
Darlene Doyle.
William served in the US Navy from 1964 to 1967 during the Vietnam Conflict.
He worked for the Franklin County Road Dept. for several years and was a
member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #2. He was
a lifetime member of the VFW #2482 and a member of the American Legion #347
both of St. Clair, Missouri.
He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to fish and hunt and also was a big fan
of Arkansas Razorback football.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Madiline Richardson;
three brothers, Lloyd and Floyd Richardson and Donald Gilmer; and two
sisters, Lora Eastham and Rosemary Moore.
He is survived by his wife Darlene of the home in Steelville, Missouri;
four brothers, Houston Richardson Jr. of Lexa, Arkansas, Jack Richardson of
Augusta, Arkansas, James Gilmer of Modesto, California and Robert Richardson
of Palestine, Arkansas; two sisters, Christine Krank of Ada, Georgia and
Barbara Walters of Polk City, Florida; other relatives and friends.
He chose to donate his body to medical research.

Bonnie J. Schell
Bonnie J. Schell of St. Louis, Missouri was born Friday, November 13, 1959
at Centerville, Illinois to Billie Gene and Neoma Jane (nee Cutter) Chandler
and passed away Wednesday, June 09, 2010 at St. Louis, Missouri at the age
of 50 years, 6 months and 26 days.
Bonnie spent many years taking care of her home and spending time with
family and friends. She enjoyed traveling to Cuba with her friends and
camping at the farm.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Neoma Chandler; husband, William
Schell; two sisters, Vicky Lynn Chandler and Becky Jane Chandler; other
relatives and friends.
She is survived by her father, Billie Gene Chandler of Cuba, Missouri; one
brother, Mike Chandler of Cuba, Missouri; sister, Lindy and husband Perry
Myers of Bourbon, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Memorial service will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the
Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Don Martin officiating.

James “Jim” Herman Schmitt
James “Jim” Herman Schmitt of St. James, Missouri, formerly of Steelville,
Missouri, was born December 6, 1926 in St. Louis, Missouri to Herman and
Edna (Susanka) Schmitt and passed away Monday, February 8, 2010 at the
Missouri Veteran’s Home in St. James, Missouri at the age of 83 years.
On March 17, 1951, he was united in marriage to Nancy Jane Riley.
Jim served our country as a Seaman 2nd Class in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to
1946. He was aboard the USS Bushnell in the Asiatic-Pacific areas.
During his lifetime, Jim was top agent for Guardian Life Insurance for 10
years, owned and managed Trails End Riding Stables in Chesterfield, Missouri,
owned Mississippi Mortgage Co. and owned Red Wheel Restaurant in Warrenton,
Missouri, which was fitting because he loved to cook. In 1979, Jim and his
wife retired to Steelville, Missouri, where they owned and operated Nancy’s
Dolls and Antique Shop. Jim also enjoyed various community involvements and
was a member of the Steelville Chamber of Commerce. He was awarded “Citizen
of the Year” during that time period. After the death of his wife, Jim moved
to Kansas to be near one of his daughters.
He always had a love for law and took several classes to learn more. He was
a lifetime member of the NRA and for many years enjoyed participating in
reenactments of the Pre-1840 Mountain Men Rendezvous. In later years, he
took some time in traveling to other countries.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Edna Schmitt and wife
Nancy Schmitt (October 2002).
He is survived by nine children, Michael Schmitt of Austin, Texas, Barbara
Hatch and husband Ray of Houston, Texas, Mary Lane and husband Dennis of
Granite City, Illinois, Catherine Boyer and husband Bruce of Mineral Point,
Missouri, Richard Schmitt from the state of Alaska, Edward Schmitt and wife
Brenda of Eureka, Missouri, Suzanne Hatcher and husband Mark of North
Augusta, South Carolina, Theresa Schmitt of Cuba, Missouri and Elizabeth
Smith of Overland Park, Kansas; 24 grandchildren; four great grandchildren;
one brother, Robert Schmitt; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
A memorial graveside service was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2010
at the Steelville Cemetery with Dennis Lane and David Lane
officiating. Military honors were by the U.S. Navy and St. James VFW.

Harvey Allen Snodgrass
Harvey Allen Snodgrass of Owensville, Missouri was born in Lanes Prairie,
Missouri, on December 28, 1935 to Lucy A. (Davis) and James Lloyd Snodgrass
and passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at his residence at the age of
74 years, 5 months and 5 days.
On October 4, 1957 he was united in marriage to Verna Goettling.
He was a member of the Church of Christ, Owensville Masonic Lodge, Charter
member of the Owensville Gun Club and retired member of the UAW.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Snodgrass and Kenneth Snodgrass;
grandson, Jeremy Snodgrass; brothers, Wilbur, Robert, Buel and Paul
Snodgrass; and by two sisters, Jewel Cruts and Norma Dean Spencer.
His survivors include his wife, Verna; children, Patti Kriete and husband
Sam of Union, Missouri, Ronald Snodgrass and wife Darlene of Union,
Missouri, Richard Snodgrass of Belle, Missouri and Les Snodgrass and wife
Jenny of Beaufort, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Robin Gray and husband Mike
of Union, Missouri; brother, James Snodgrass and wife Martha of Steelville,
Missouri; sisters, Faye Cloud and husband Bill of Slidell, Louisiana and
Goldene Rodriguez of Warrenton, Missouri; sister-in-law, Mary Snodgrass of

Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri with Pastor Larry

Burial was in the Snodgrass Cemetery in Vienna, Missouri.

George Coywell Taber
George Coywell Taber of St. James, Missouri was born in Cook Station on
March 24, 1935 to George Harrison Taber and Thelma Freda (Talbert) Taber
and passed away on June 11, 2010 at his home at the age of 75 years.
George was a veteran of the US Army, having served in the Korean War in
Okinawa as an air traffic controller and radar technician. He retired
from Forness Construction Company following 25 years in the construction
industry. Following retirement, he was employed by the St. James Golf
Club. George has been a member of the St. James Christian Church since
April 5, 1956.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Thelma Taber; mother
and father-in-law, Arthur L. Mitchell and Mary V. Mitchell; brother-in-law,
Arthur E. Mitchell and nephew, Rusty E. Britt.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ellen (Mitchell) Taber of St. James,
Missouri: two children, Brad A. Taber of St. James, Missouri and Lisa A.
Taber Rolufs and husband Jim D. Rolufs Sr. of Rolla, Missouri; four
grandchildren, Jimmy D. Rolufs, Jr., Branden C. Taber, Andrea M. Rolufs
and Brooke A. Taber; three sisters and three brothers; two sisters-in-law,
Viola V. Radcliff and husband Donald, Peggy J. Britt and husband Russell;
other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, June 13, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at James & Gahr
Mortuary in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 14, 2010 at James & Gahr Mortuary
of St. James, Missouri with Pastor Edward McDonald officiating.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Rolufs, Jr., Branden Taber, Vernon Miller, Chip
Parker, Stan Runyon and Bob Rivers.
Interment followed at the St. James Cemetery in St. James, Missouri.

Katherine M. “Kay” Zweig
Katherine M. “Kay Zweig” of Rolla, Missouri, formerly of Vichy, Missouri
was born on March 22, 1929 to George E. and Lena (Cordes) Smith in Red Bird,
Missouri and passed away in St. Louis, Missouri on Monday, June 7, 2010 at
the age of 81 years, 2 months and 18 days.
Katherine was united in marriage to Clifford L. Zweig of North Dupo,
Illinois on July 29, 1950 in Salem, Arkansas and to this union three
children were born.
Katherine attended high school in St. James, Missouri, college at Southwest
Missouri State and began teaching locally and later in the State of Kansas
and Texas. After marriage she initially lived in Dupo, Illinois, moved to
Greensboro, North Carolina, Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Bedford, Texas
before returning to the area and residing in Vichy, Missouri.
In the year of 2000 she moved to Rolla, Missouri where she resided until
her death. She worked at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James, Missouri
for a number of years in addition to her primary role as a homemaker. Her
interests were family, friends, reading, quilting, sewing, cooking, dancing
and any form of travel whether near or far.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lena Smith; husband,
Clifford L. Zweig on July 25, 1997; two sisters, Berneice Zinn and Nora
Johnston.
She is survived by two sons, Kurt C. Zweig and wife Lynne of Plano, Texas
and Dr. Doug Zweig and wife “Dee” of Chesterfield, Missouri; one daughter,
Vicki Gibbons and husband Jerry of Rolla, Missouri; two brothers, George J.
Smith and wife Joyce of Rolla, Missouri and James Leroy Smith and wife Donna
of St. James, Missouri; two sisters, Ella Mae Cowan of St. James, Missouri
and Mildred Brown of Rolla, Missouri; four grandchildren; two great
grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, June 11, 2010 at the Jones Funeral
Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at
the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri with Amy Turner
officiating.
Pallbearers were Dustin Gibbons, Jason Zweig, Sandy Zinn, Steve Smith,
Greg Zweig and Ken Fox.
Burial was in the family plot in St. James Cemetery in St. James,
Missouri.

Missouri.
