MO Local Obituaries for the Week of June 20, 2012 Brenda Joann Harris Brenda Joann Harris, nee Lamphere, of Robertsville, Missouri, was born January 25, 1980 in Lawton, Oklahoma and passed away June 10, 2012 at the age of 32 years. She married Carl Harris on April 7, 2001 in Wildwood, Missouri. She is survived by her father, Raymond Jessup; her husband, Carl Harris; two children, John and Mary Harris; one brother, James Turner; two sisters, Jesse and husband Tony Kemp and Nicole Turner; parents-in-law, John and Barb (nee Gault) Harris of Belle, Missouri; grandparents-in-law, Courtney and Evelyn Harris of Cuba, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Visitation was Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. at the Bell Funeral Home, Pacific, Missouri. Graveside services were held at the Meramec Hills Memorial Cemetery in Cuba, Missouri. Arrangements under the direction of the Bell Funeral Home of Pacific, Missouri. Wilma G. James Wilma G. James, of Vichy, Missouri was born in Vienna, Missouri August 5, 1918 to George and Phoebe (Walls) Snodgrass and passed away June 8, 2012 in Vienna, Missouri at the age of 93 years. After graduating from Vienna High School, she went on to the University of Central Missouri at Warrensburg. After completing two years at Warrensburg Wilma Snodgrass was united in marriage to Charles H. James, three children were born to this union. She and Charles moved to her parents’ river farm located on the Gasconade River in Maries County where they spent many years raising cattle and farming the land. In the summer when the children got out of school and could help their dad with the farm, Wilma went back to school attending Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri until she received her degree in Elementary Education. Armed with a new degree and teaching certificate Wilma started her teaching tenure at Tennyson School, a one teacher school where she taught all grades. After Tennyson School closed she then went to The Star School, another one room schoolhouse. When the era of one-room schoolhouses was finally over, Wilma took her education to St. James where she taught second grade for 27 years. She taught for a total of 32 years before she retired. She and Charles relocated to the Vichy, Missouri community in 1969 where they continued to farm. They were deeply devoted to the Vichy community donating the land for the Fire Department. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, listening to the radio, spending time with family and friends and her beloved dogs Jake, and she had Jake 1, Jake 2 and Jake 3. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Phoebe Snodgrass; husband, Charles in 1982 and son, George James. She is survived by her sons, Donn James and wife Connie of Salem, Missouri, Darel James and wife Donna of St. James, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Rita Schmidt of St. James, Missouri; grandchildren, Craig James, Dawn James, Daren James, Derek James, Melissa Riley and Bradley James; 13 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Visitation was Monday, June 11, 2012 from 3-7 p.m. Funeral service was Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Reverend Lindy Hardwick officiating and Dr. Don James did the eulogy. Kalo Neidert Kalo Neidert, a retired Professor of Accounting at the University of Nevada, Reno, Nevada, was born September 1, 1918 on the family farm near High Gate, Missouri, and passed away June 12, 2012 at the age of 93 years. Following World War II, he received his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis and then attended graduate school at the University of Minnesota, before spending the remainder of his professional career in higher education. Kalo taught at the University of Mississippi from 1953 to 1957, the University of Texas from 1957 to 1961, Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota from 1961 to 1962, and the University of Nevada from 1962 until his retirement in 1990. A C.P.A., Kalo was active in the Nevada State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Accounting Association. For his professional accomplishments, he was listed in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, and Who’s Who in the West. On June 22, 1952 he married Stella Vest of St. Louis, Missouir. They would of celebrated their 60th anniversary this year. An active member for almost 50 years at St. John’s Presbyterian Church in Reno, Kalo served on its Session multiple times and provided his financial expertise to the church for many decades. Long involved in Scouting, Kalo received the Silver Beaver award for his many years of service to the Boy Scout movement at the Pack, Troop, and District levels. He is survived by his wife, Stella; four sons, Edward (Marcelle) of Carson City, Karl of San Diego, California, David (Laura) and Wayne, both of Reno, Nevada and a daughter Meg, stationed at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas; five grandchildren, Russ, Rob, Elizabeth, Andrew and Jeremiah; four great grandchildren, Trustin, Brycen, Mayson and Kayden; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be conducted from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri with burial at the High Gate Cemetery. Henry F. “Hank” Peterson III Henry F. “Hank” Peterson III was born to Shirley (Foster) Peterson and the late Henry F. Peterson Jr. on June 1, 1960 in Rolla, Missouri and passed away June 11, 2012 at the St. Clair Health Center in Fenton, Missouri at the age of 52 years and 10 days. Hank attended school in Cuba, Missouri and later moved to Sullivan, Missouri where he worked for many years at Meramec Industry. He loved the outdoors and grew an abundance of beautiful flowers. He gardened, hunted and loved fishing. He is survived by his mother and step father, Shirley Burch and Earl Burch of Cuba, Missouri; one son, Henry F. Peterson IV; one grandson, Gavin; one brother, Steven Brown; three sisters, Terralynn Brown, Ellen (Peterson) Hutchens and Tammy (Peterson) Gardner; two step brothers, Mike Burch and wife Stacy and Tim Burch; other relatives and friends. Cremation rites were accorded. Memorial service will be June 23, 2012 at 9 a.m. in the Delhi Cemetery on Highway UU in Cuba, Missouri. Kevin Allen Roth Kevin Allen Roth was born July 24, 1971 in Columbia, Missouri to Keith Wilson and Gayle Walton and passed away May 16, 2012 at the age of 40 years. Kevin married Tammra Ensor on January 16, 2001. He was preceded in death by his father, Keith Wilson and grandmother, Vivienne Stover. He is survived by his wife, Tammy Roth of Salem, Missouri; mother, Gayle Walton of Jefferson City, Missouri; daughters, Jessica O’Hern and Nikki Dellbringge; half-sister, Sally (Wilson) Lloyd; half-brother, Kenny Wilson; other relatives and friends. Philip Timothy Sagel Philip Timothy Sagel of Newburg, Missouri, was born April 22, 1946 in Cuba, Missouri, to Timothy B. and Mary Sagel and passed away June 12, 2012 at the age of 66 years. Philip married Lois Slawson on December 23, 1970. He loved music and guitar. He played and sang in church and loved reading books. He was preceded in death by his father, Timothy Sagel; brothers, Bernard and Tom Sagel. Terry of Stanton, Missouri was born at Hannibal, Missouri on August 3, 1929 to Charles and Tissie Pearl (Briggs) Hinks and passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 4 days. She lived in the Hannibal area until 1947 when she was united in marriage to Richard Terry.  They then moved to Stanton, Missouri to make their home. Betty was employed several years as a cook at the former Stanton School and later worked in retail sales as a secretary.  She lived for her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandson. Betty was an avid cook, seamstress and reader. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Tissie Hinks; her husband, Richard and one sister, Linda Gayle Ravenscraft. She is survived by a son, Richard Terry and wife Rita of Stanton, Missouri; two daughters, Jane McClary and husband Ron of Bourbon, Missouri and Linda Terry of Stanton, Missouri; one sister, Mary Sue McElroy and husband Charles of the state of Arkansas; three grandchildren, Robert O. Stoops, Richard Ethan Terry and Carl Terry; one great grandson, Elijah Stoops; a special nephew, Butch Terry and wife, Linda of Stanton, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
