MO Local Obituaries for the Week of June 22, 2011 Willa Mae Dennison Willa Mae Dennison of Cuba, Missouri formerly of Huntington, West Virginia was born November 17, 1926 at Huntington, West Virginia to Robert and Vesta (nee: Kessler) McComas and passed away Friday, June 18, 2011 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla, Missouri at the age of 84 years. Willa spent her life taking care of others. She was mom to her three children Acie, Virginia and David and then became Mom to many foster children in Huntington, West Virginia for nearly 20 years and did this as a single parent. Willa attended the Church of Christ in Huntington for many decades without ever missing a Sunday or Wednesday evening service. Willa believed her calling was to always help others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Vesta McComas; two sons, Acie and David Sayre; six sisters, Dolly McComas, Della Gilbert, Georgie McComas, Francis Elkins, Margaret Willoughby and Ruth Adkins; one brother Walther McComas; other relatives and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia “Ginger” and husband Howard Sansoucie of Cuba, Missouri; eight grandchildren; many great grand- children; great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri. John Ernie John Ernie was born at Oak Hill, Missouri on October 22, 1931 to John H. and Lucille Ryerson Ernie and passed away at his residence in Ellington, Missouri on May 30, 2011 at the age of 79 years, 7 months and 8 days. On June 30, 1956 in Hernando, Mississippi, John was united in marriage to Carole Keaton and to this union two children were born. John was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the 82nd Airborne. He worked for Paramount Cap Factory for 19 years. In 1958 John moved to Ellington to oversee the construction of Paramount’s new factory, serving as its first superintendent. John owned and operated Webb Creek Boat Dock from 1965 until 1996. He owned and operated Ernie’s Sales and Services up to his death. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially turkey hunting. He enjoyed turkey hunting for over 40 years with his good friend, Mel Janis. John enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. He loved his dogs and enjoyed watching hummingbirds and doves. He liked watching Cardinals baseball also. He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. and Lucille Ernie; his daughter, Cindy Jean Ernie Baker; two sisters, Della Faye Ernie and Bonnie Immekus; daughter-in-law, Patricia Price Ernie and son-in-law, Denny Paul Baker. He is survived by his wife, Carole Ernie of Ellington, Missouri; his son, Steven Ernie of Ellington, Missouri; two grandchildren, Danielle Ernie and John Logan Ernie, both of Ellington, Missouri; two sisters, Darlene Bell and husband Stanley of Bourbon, Missouri and JoAnn Williamson and husband Gene of Sullivan, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Thresa Violet Falloon Thresa Violet Falloon of Bourbon, Missouri was born on August 24, 1937 at Wood River, Illinois to Fritz and Lily (Sadich) Meyers and passed away at her home on Monday, June 13, 2011 at the age of 73 years. She was raised in the Livingston, Illinois area and on June 30, 1962 was united in marriage to Emil Paul Falloon. Thresa was self-employed in a quilt making business, which she ran out of her home. She enjoyed he flowers and gardening as well as watching the hummingbirds. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fritz and Lily Meyers and a brother, Ed Meyers. She is survived by her husband, Emil Paul Falloon of the family home; one son Douglas P. Falloon and wife Michelle of Pacific, Missouri; one daughter, Veronica L. Meyers and husband Dana of Ellisville, Missouri; brother, John Meyers of Staunton, Illinois; three sisters, Roseanne Schardan, Juantia Greeling and Betty Sternickle, all of Staunton, Illinois; two grandsons, Brian and Kevin Meyers; other relatives and friends. Patricia May Hendrix Patricia May (Powers) Hendrix of St. James, Missouri was born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 30, 1929 to Edwin Lee and Juanita Irene (Dickison) Powers and passed away June 15, 2011 in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 81 years and 11 months. Graduating Baden High School in 1946 Patricia took a job as a clothing model for Famous and Barr and then later attended nursing school, working for doctors in the St. Louis area. In 1956 she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, taking a job as a dental assistant. In 1964 Patricia married James Frederick Hendrix. After her son was born in 1965, Patricia persuaded her husband to move to the St. James, Missouri area. They bought a farm north of town. Patricia loved all kinds of arts and crafts, from ceramics to stained glass to doll making. She also liked to design and make much of her own clothing. One of her projects turned into the career which her and James reupholstering her own living room couch, so the idea of a shop in St. James known as The Furniture Shop Upholstery was born. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Juanita Powers; one sister, Wanda Hanebrink, nephew, Rodney Hanebrink and step grandson, Gary Gallamore. She is survived by her husband, James Hendrix of the home; her son, Raymond Lee Hendrix and wife Angela of St. James, Missouri; six step children, James Frederick Hendrix Jr. and wife Melissa of Houston, Texas, Wanda Rea Shewmon of St. Louis, Missouri, Susan Brown and husband Wayne of St. Charles, Missouri, Jama Russell of Popular Bluff, Missouri, Marybeth Gallamore and husband Gary Davis of West Plains, Missouri; grandchildren; great grand- children; nieces and nephew, Debra Mesle, Melissa Pleasents, Beth Hanebrink and Jim Hanebrink; other relatives and friends. Blake Thomas Smith Blake Thomas Smith of Bourbon, Missouri was born on June 24, 1991 in Crystal City, Missouri and passed Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the age of 19 years. attended Cuba, Bourbon, and Washington schools. Blake enjoyed fishing and motor sports, especially riding his motorcycle. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Tex Smith. Helen Turnbough Helen Turnbough, nee Kaysinger of Steelville, Missouri was born July 5, 1929 at Huzzah, Missouri to Otis and Hattie (Usery) Kaysinger and passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Gibbs Care Center at the age of 81 years. On April 23, 1949 in Piggott, Arkansas, she married Kenneth Ray Turnbough. Helen was a member of Center Point Baptist Church, attended Courtois Baptist Church with Kenneth and the last several years attended the First Baptist Church in Steelville, Missouri. As a younger lady, she had been an avid softball player and was called “Mighty Casey”. For many years she worked the election polls in the Liberty area and answered the phone for the Britton Bros. Funeral Home. enjoyed attending and supporting all of the singings for the Journeymen and her family. She was well known for her good cooking. Special memories were shared by grandchildren, Michaela and Micah and sons, Mike and Bruce. Music of “What a Meeting,” “I Know a Man Who Can,” “He’ll Hold to My Hand” and “When We All get to Heaven” was sung by the Journeymen Group and family members. Other music of “I Bowed on my Knees and Cried Holy” was sung by Rev. Jerry Beers and “Shelter in the Arms” was sung and played by Kendall Turnbough. Committal prayer was by Rev. Stan Gibson and special poem was read by Rev. Jerry Beers. Interment was in the Steelville Cemetery, Steelville, Missouri. Casket bearers were Ricky Kaysinger, Dean Kaysinger, Larry Kaysinger, Jackie Kaysinger, Steve Biggs and Dave Cole with Scott Biggs, Chuck Jinkerson and Bob Rowe as honorary casket bearers. Chester Warren Ware Chester Warren Ware of Cuba, Missouri was born to Jacob and Minnie (West) Ware on Thursday, October 28, 1920 in Cuba, Missouri and passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at his home in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 90 years. was united in marriage to Margaret L. Gandy on January 11, 1943 in Steelville, Missouri and to this union three children were born. Chester was a farmer in Crawford County and served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a charter member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church and a member of the Cuba Memorial American Legion Post #522. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Minnie Ware; son, Chester L. “Butch” Ware; three brothers, Estel, Herman and George Ware; six sisters, Martha Hopwood, Mable Williams, Catherine Ware, Lorene Ware, Viva Fann and Zula Micallef. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Margaret L. Ware of Cuba, Missouri; two daughters, Shirley and husband Kermit Pennock of Eldon, Missouri and Carolyn and husband Gene Trinkler of Lenexa, Kansas; two sisters, Maxine Branson of Park Hills, Missouri and Bonnie Ware of Cuba, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
