She was 49 years, 8 months and 11 days of age. Elizabeth “Beth” Edgar was born on October 7, 1960 at Rolla, Missouri to her parents: Merel Jackson and Irma Hermina (Rieke) Steen. She was united in marriage to John Edgar in St. James, Missouri on July 21, 1979. To this union three children were born. Elizabeth “Beth” Edgar is survived by her beloved husband, John Edgar of St. James, Missouri; one beloved daughter of the home, Meghan Marie Edgar; two beloved sons, John Travis Edgar and fiance’ Leslie Tackett of Fayette- ville, Arkansas and Brett Thomas Edgar of St. James, Missouri; mother-in-law, Alma Edgar of St. James, Missouri; four brothers, Merel Wayne Steen and wife Loveta of St. James, Missouri, Earl Duane Steen and Betty of Eureka, California, Joel Edward Steen of Santa Jose, California and Terry Jackson Steen and wife Lynda of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sisters, Deborah Louise Schoolcraft and husband Roger of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Kathleen June Glenn and husband Ellory of St. Louis, Missouri; and two brother-in-laws, Cecil Leroy Edgar of Kansas City, Missouri and P. Dennis Edgar of Rogers- ville, Missouri; along with a host of relatives and friends. Preceding Elizabeth “Beth” Edgar in death are her parents, Merle Jackson and Irma Hermina (Rieke) Steen; and father-in-law, Cecil Edgar; and one brother-in-law, Keith Edgar. Visitation for Elizabeth “Beth” Edgar was held on Sunday, June 20, 2010 from 3-8 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, June 21, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in St. James, Missouri with Jerry Baumann and Roger Schoolcraft officiating. Pallbearers were Brett Edgar, Travis Edgar, D. J. Edgar, Micah Glenn, Aaron Schoolcraft, Zebulon Glenn, Shawn Steen and Kevin Steen. Honorary pallbearers were: Phillip Edgar, Wes Steen, Charles Steen, Jon Steen and Chuck Cantrell. Music was provided by Lori Garver: I’ll Fly Away and The Old Rugged Cross; Haley Lindemann: Amazing Grace and Stephen Brubaker: When I Get Where I’m Going; with Jeanette Ashley at the organ. Larry Lester Elkins Larry Lester Elkins of Steelville, Missouri, formerly of Columbus, Indiana, was born Tuesday, November 17, 1959 in Fremont, Ohio to Elmer Ernest and Ilajean Marie Rohm Elkins and passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010 at his home in Steelville, Missouri at the age of 50 years, 6 months, and 24 days. Larry married Jerri Ann Schmeltz on October 26, 1989 in Greenville, South Carolina and to this union two children were born. Larry worked as a driver for a towing company for a few years before becoming disabled. He accepted the Lord early in life and attended a Baptist church in his youth. He enjoyed working on cars, hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Ilajean Elkins; one brother, Lee Elkins and mother-in-law, Ruby Janet Schmeltz. Wayne Edward Lewis, Jr. Wayne Edward Lewis, Jr. of Cuba, Missouri formerly of Gary, Indiana, was born January 23, 1972 at Hammond, Indiana and passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 38 years. Wayne was a truck driver for many years. He drove for Stevens Van Line located in Michigan. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and playing pool. He is survived by his father, Wayne Edward Sr. and wife Carole of Hebron, Indiana; mother, Mary Lewis of Cuba, Missouri; children, Wayne E. Lewis III, Marica Nicole Lewis and Catlyn JoAnn Lewis of Griffith, Indiana; siblings, Sandra (Bryan) Phelps of Lake Station, Indiana and Sanda “Sis” Lewis of Shell Lake, Wisconsin; other relatives and friends. Helen Dickson Joslin Helen Dickson Joslin of Sullivan, Missouri was born on May 11, 1924 to Ervie and Gladys (nee Bowers) Dickson and passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the age of 86 years. She graduated high school at Granby, Missouri and was married to Gale Joslin on December 25, 1943. Helen worked as a secretary in Neosho, Missouri and was an owner of a retail grocery store in Jasper, Missouri. She and her family moved to Sullivan in 1959 where she went to work as clerk/office manager at Bi-Rite market in Sullivan. Helen enjoyed gardening and traveling. She was a member of the Sullivan Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ervie and Gladys Dickson and husband, Gale Joslin. She is survived by two sons, Dr. Gale Joslin and wife Linda of Norman, Oklahoma and Paul Joslin and wife Karen of Bourbon, Missouri; two daughters, Jan George and husband Steve of Mexico, Missouri and Elaine Joslin of Sullivan, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Dr. Gale L. Joslin and wife Trina, Amy Elliott and husband Ken, Melissa Huston and husband Mike, Jenny Joslin, Brandilyn Podner and husband Brian, Christopher Joslin and wife Amy, Jeremy Joslin and wife Melanie and Byron George and wife Lexi; 17 great grand- children; other relatives and friends. Charlotte Mae Licklider Charlotte Mae Licklider nee Litty of Steelville, Missouri was born in Steelville, Missouri on Wednesday, March 21, 1928 to William Alexies Litty and Stella Elvira (Walker) Litty and passed away on Monday, June 14, 2010 at the age of 82 years, 2 months, and 24 days. She married Oliver Eugene Licklider on November 16, 1946 in Steelville, Missouri and six children were born to this union. Charlotte was a factory worker in the shoe industry. She loved growing flowers, gardening, ceramics, quilting, cooking, canning, fishing and the outdoors. She was a member of the Highland Busy Bee’s Extension Club and a former 4-H member and leader. She accepted the Lord early in life and was member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she was active in the WMU and choir. She also enjoyed decorating the church and serving at church dinners. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Stella Litty; daughters, Alexies E. Marshall and Alberta Gwen Larrison; sister, Wilma Ivie and husband J.R.; brothers-in-law, Charles “Jake” Walls, Charles “Buck” Rowden and James R. Licklider. She is survived by her husband, Oliver E. Ruth Ann Vavra Ruth Ann Vavra of south rural Steelville, Missouri, was born July 27, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri to Walter and Beulah (Beyerstedt) Dahlheimer and passed away Friday, June 18, 2010 at her home at the age of 70 years. In 1958, she was united in marriage to Joseph S. Vavra who preceded her in death on May 17, 1988. Ruth Ann was of the Catholic faith. She loved the outdoors, watching NASCAR and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Beulah Dahlheimer and her husband, Joseph. She is survived by her son, Joe Vavra and wife Charlotte of Steelville, Missouri; one grandson, Joey Vavra of Steelville, Missouri; other relatives and friends. James “Lee” Yowell James “Lee” Yowell was born to Everett and Bessie (Noakes) Yowell in Newburg, Missouri on September 2, 1948 and passed away Sunday, June 6, 2010 at Beauvois Manor in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 61 years. Lee loved to watch and cheer for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team and was the champion Wii bowler at the manor where he lived. He loved to fish and hunt and tell stories about it with his buddies. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Bessie Yowell; two sisters, Sylvia Gordon and Sharon Goodall; five brothers, Alvis, Amos, Everett, Ralph and Mark Yowell.
