MO Local Obituaries for the Week of June 24, 2020 Kaye Elizabeth Banta Kaye Elizabeth (Jaycox) Banta of Potosi, Missouri was born October 16, 1954 in Steelville, Missouri to Noel and Mildred Lucille (Sutton) Jaycox and passed away Saturday, June 13, 2020 at the age of 65 years, 7 months and 28 days. On September 25, 1975 Kaye married Epke "Ted" Banta Jr. and they were blessed with 44 years of happiness. Kaye was known throughout her community as a kind and caring person, who always put others before herself. She always had a positive attitude and was there to help anyone in times of need. She was a devoted member of the Crossroads Fellowship Christian Church and worked for 25 years as a cook for Washington County Headstart, before retiring in 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Noel and Mildred Jaycox; her brother, Ron Jaycox; sister, Clara Gruver; brothers and sisters-in-law, Debbie Jaycox, Dave Gruver, Larry Coleman, Margie and Joe Thurman, Norma Ruth Nipper, Lou Ann and Don Whitener; niece, Pamela Baumann; and nephew, Tim Jaycox. She is survived by her husband, Ted; daughter, Tabitha Randall and Shane Riddle of Potosi, Missouri; son, Epke "Teddy" Banta III of St. Louis, Missouri; six brothers, Larry Jaycox and wife Carolyn of St. Louis, Missouri, Gene Jaycox and wife Genie of Steelville, Missouri, John Jaycox of Venice, Florida, David Jaycox and wife Linda of Steelville, Missouri, Russell Jaycox of Potosi, Missouri, Woody Jaycox of Bismarck, Missouri; two sisters, Patty Coleman of Potosi, Missouri, Helen Bone and husband Mike of Potosi, Missouri; three grandchildren, Wyatt Bust, Garrett Randall, Dylan Randall other relatives and friends. Visitation was held Thursday, June 18, 2020 from 4-9 p.m. at the Moore Funeral Home in Potosi, Missouri. Funeral services were held Friday, June 19, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Moore Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Wilson officiating. Burial and final prayers were at the New Masonic Cemetery in Potosi, Missouri. Jennie Mae Copper Dicks Jennie Mae Copper Dicks of Rolla, Missouri was born February 6, 1926 to Ralph and Martha Jones Copper and passed away Friday, June 19, 2020 at the age of 94 years. On December 21, 1946 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, Jennie married Harold Chester Dicks Sr. Jennie and Harold lived in many places due to his career in the Air Force. They had homes in Japan, Virginia, Illinois, Hawaii, the Philippines, Missouri and Pennsylvania. They raised three children. Their oldest son, Harold Jr., had Down Syndrome. At the time of his birth, doctors recommended that they place him in an institution. Instead, they made sure he enjoyed the same quality of life as his siblings. Jennie achieved much in her life as a military wife. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Martha Copper; husband, Harold Chester Dicks Sr. in 1982; son, Harold Jr.; sisters, Catherine and Shirley; and brothers, Gerald, Dale and Ralph. She is survived by one daughter, Pamela and husband George Timson of Rolla, Missouri; one son, Mark and wife Donna Dicks of Talent, Oregon; grandsons, Joel Faucett, Seth Faucett and Craig Timson; two great grandchildren, Thomas and Joanna; other relatives and friends. Due to COVID-19, the family requested a private visitation and funeral Monday, June 22, 2020 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri. Billy Dan Earney Billy Dan Earney of Steelville, Missouri was born January 9, 1965 in Rolla, Missouri to Danny and Katherine (Henson) Earney and passed away Friday, June 12, 2020 at the age of 55 years, 5 months and 3days. He married LaDonna Nipper in Belgrade, Missouri on September 28, 2002. Billy graduated from the Steelville Class of 1983. After graduation, he was employed as a machinist for a few years and in 1990 began working at Perkins Cattle Farms as the farm manager. Billy was a believer of God and on occasion would attend the Belgrade Methodist Church with LaDonna. Billy had many joys in life. He was a collector of antique tractors with his father. He was an avid antique pursuer for skillets, granite wear, buckets and tools. His other hobbies included woodworking, hunting, fishing and planting his garden. Two of his greatest joys were his first car, a 1970 Monte Carlo and a restored 72 Chevy pickup. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marion "Bill" and Minnielee Earney and Warren and Virgie Marie Henson; mother-in-law, Margaret Nipper, brother-in-law, Dennis Nipper; sister-in-law, Diane Nipper; and dog, Zip. "Ricky" Greathouse of Cuba, Missouri was born Monday, May 25, 1959 in Morocco, at the United State Air Force base, to Richard and Sedelia "Sadie" M. (nee Garcia) Greathouse and passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at the age of 61 years. Ricky enjoyed carpentry work, wood working and sports. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan, New York Giants baseball fan and he loved his Rottweiler "Roxie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Sadie Greathouse. On July 17, 1943 in Salina, Kansas she married Zane G. Pennock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zane G. Pennock on September 30, 2014; two brothers, Jim (Charlotte) and Bill (Sally) Hendrix; three sisters, Dorothy (Harry) Harman, Juanita (Ben) Pennock and Linda Hendrix; her in-laws, Walter and Florence Pennock; brother-in-law, Asa (Francis); and sister-in-law, Bonnie (Woodrow) Bouse. Harper Rivera Quisenberry Harper Rivera Quisenberry was born in January 26, 2020 to Mia Rivera and Tristan Quisenberry. Harper was born premature with a congenital heart defect and passed away February 26, 2020 at the age of one month. Tristan James Quisenberry Tristan James Quisenberry was born October 27, 1996 to Brenda Byrd Forrester and James D. Quisenberry and passed away May 13, 2020 at the age of 23 years. Tristan loved to fish, hunt and even studied at the Culinary Institute of Nashville to become a chef to pursue his love of cooking. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Harper Rivera Quisenberry; and grandfather, James Quisenberry. He is survived by his brother, Justin Quisenberry; sisters, Drenda Barnett and Briana Plank; step sister, Cameron Forrester; mother and step father, Brenda and David Forrester; father, J.D. Shelvie Jean Ryan Shelvie Jean (nee Fogle) Ryan of Steelville, Missouri, previously of Rockwood, Pennyslvania, was born on Wednesday, June 2, 1937 in Berlin, Pennyslvania to Robert and Virginia Rose (Logue) Fogle and passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at the age of 83 years and 15 days. Shelvie graduated from Berlin Brothersvalley School District in Somerset, Pennsylvania in 1955. She then graduated from Windber Hospital Training School for Nurses. Shelvie worked as a RN in Cardiac Care at Somerset Hospital for 20 years and retired in 2002. She married Terrance Dennis Ryan in Virginia on October 17, 1958. While in Pennsylvania, Shelvie attended St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She was a member of the crafting group, Knotty Knotters where they were active in quilting, embroidery and crocheting. Shelvie was an artist. She was always the one to decorate for activities at a Lutheran Church in her community. Shelvie was passionate about helping people, she always took part in Operation Christmas Child and crocheted dolls for the boxes that went overseas and crocheted hats for cancer patients at hospitals. She especially loved her 18 year old dachshund Arnie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Fogle and Virginia Saylor; and sister-in-law, Barb Fogle. Kaye Eileen Turnbough Kaye Eileen (nee Lindsey) Turnbough of Steelville, Missouri was born July 7, 1933 in St. Louis, Missouri to Robert and Beatrice Gooch Lindsey and passed away Sunday, June 14, 2020 at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 7 days. Kaye was raised by her mother and step-father, Marvin R. Pfeiffer. She married William "Bill" L. Turnbough Sr. on October 31, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri. Kaye was employed by McGraw-Hill Publishing as a customer service book specialist retiring after 22 years with the company. She was a long time loyal and faithful member of the Cherryville First Baptist Church. Kaye was involved in her surrounding community being a lifetime member of the Trail Blazers Saddle Club, a 4-H Leader of the Saddle Tramps Horseman group and working the election polls for many years. She was also in the women's quilting group at her church, enjoyed playing cards and Scrabble and baking and decorating cakes for others. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather; her husband, Bill Turnbough; two sons, William L. Jr. and Don E. Turnbough; two grandchildren, Brandy Turnbough and Bobbie Sue Carrow; three brothers, Frank Pfeiffer, Richard Lindsey and Ronald Lindsey; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Willard Turnbough, Jake Turnbough, Wilma (Riley) Todd and Zelma (Vondell) Callahan. "Newt," "Nate" and "Nathan" as he was known by, worked as a drywaller for the last few years. He had been a cook for Applebee's and Country Kitchen and in his younger years he worked at Blue Beacon. He enjoyed cooking, camping and going to the river. It was never to cold out to go swimming. He spent hours reading James Patterson and John Grisham books. In his younger years he enjoyed playing football, baseball and basketball, even though he somehow always broke a bone when he played sports. He was a fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball team. He loved his four-legged child "Denali". He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Miller Sr.; and grandfather, Don Wheeler.
