MO Local Obituaries for the Week of June 27, 2012 Robert Elsworth Allen Robert Elsworth Allen of St. James, Missouri was born on July 26, 1928 in Hartford, Connecticut to James Ellsworth and Florence (Dupuis) Allen and passed away at the Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the age of   83 years, 10 months and 26 days. Robert married Jo Ellen Schweiss on August 3, 1974 in Alpine, California. Robert known by his family and friends as Bob or Colonel Bob having attended auctioneer school in Kansas City, and auctioned for many years. He attended Hillyer College in Harford, Connecticut where he graduated, in Architectural Drafting and Design. His father started and operated Mayflower Moving and Storage Company. The family owned and operated the Mayflower Company until a fire consumed the warehouse in California. Bob joined the Navy and served in the U.S. Navy and completed Gunnery school, as a gunner on the SS Selma. He worked at Sverdrup and Parcel as an architectural draftsman and specification writer and while employed at Sverdrup and Parcel he worked on the construction of the St. Louis Arch. In 1977, they moved to St. James, Missouri where they operated the Show-Me Antiques and Furniture Refinishing. Bob and Jo Ellen operated the antique store and the Allen Auction Service. Later Bob was a Supervisor at the Shelter Workshop in Rolla. He collected antique jars, had a tremendous cookbook collection and published a book, Collectors Guide to Collecting Cookbooks. He collected vintage papers and enjoyed studying about Jello- Jellentian and baking powders and items of time past. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in St. James having been a past president and past Distinguished President of the St. James Kiwanis Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Florence Allen; one brother, James Allen and two sisters, Dorothy Schaeper and Doris Allen. He is survived by his wife of the home, Jo Ellen (Schweiss) Allen of St. James, Missouri; five daughters, Mary Ann Allen of St. James, Missouri, Barbara Jean Wallace and husband Douglas of Rolla, Missouri, Barbara Joe Hepburn and husband Rod of Romona, California, Elsa Gay Svensson and husband Ron Gleason of Salt Lake, Utah and Marta Jean Svensson of Ronona, California; son, Eric Alan Svensson and wife, Sharon of Alpine, California; seven grandchildren; other relatives and friends. A memorial will be conducted July 1, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in St. James, Missouri with Jerry Bauman officiating. Hymns “Amazing Grace,” “We Will Gather at the River” and “I’ll Fly Away” will be sang by Stephen Brubaker with Janet Ashley at the organ. Louise Dease Coffey Louise Dease Coffey of Cuba, Missouri was born Sunday, October 12, 1926 at Laurel, Mississippi to John and Gladys Louise (nee White) Dease and passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan at the age of 85 years. Louise retired after 30 years of dedicated service as a Data Programmer for the Civil Service Department of Defense located at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. She always enjoyed working outside in her flower gardens. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gladys Dease; two sisters, Juanita and husband Roy Pitts and Pat Turan Schultz; three brothers-in-law; Van Blackledge, Raymond Turan and Walter Schultz She is survived by her son, Claude Coffey of Cuba, Missouri; one daughter, Geneva Louise and husband Ken Conner of Johnson City, Tennessee; one granddaughter, Heather and husband David Klein of Durango, Colorado; two sisters, Mildred Blackledge of Pascagoula, Mississippi and Norma and husband Jerry Gardner of Biloxi, Mississippi; other relatives and friends. John Joseph Gorney John Joseph Gorney of St. James, Missouri was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 27, 1943 to Theodore and Mollie (Sonengren) Gorney and passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the age of 68 years. John was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2025 and an avid Nascar fan. He is survived by two sisters, Patricia Lautenbach of St. James, Missouri and Christine Burger and husband Richard of Phoenix, Arizona; two nephews, Scott Lautenbach and wife Cindy and family of St. James, Missouri and Steven Lautenbach and family of House Springs, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon at the Null & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Mick Thrasher officiating. Lucy Vona Haacke Lucy Vona Haacke of St. James, Missouri, was born August 4, 1920 at Sedgewickville, Missouri to Pearly Edward and Ella Catherine Hanners Seabaugh and passed away Friday June 22, 2012, at the St. James Golden Living Center at the age of 91 years. On January 16, 1958 in Rolla, she was united in marriage to William Louis Haacke. Lucy grew up in southeast Missouri and for several years worked in Kansas City, Missouri at the Colgate-Palmolive Plant. After returning home to St. James, Missouri she met and married Bill. Bill owned a farm east of town and Lucy loved the farm and loved being outdoors. Lucy and her husband always enjoyed a big garden. She enjoyed her coffee on the front steps watching birds and enjoying her flowers. They traveled a lot, having one summer in South America where Bill worked in oil fields. Lucy was active in the St. James Order of the Eastern Star #235 where she was Worthy Matron in 1968. She spent many years making quilts, sewing cloths and wedding dress. After Bills death, Lucy stayed active in many local volunteer positions. She was active at the Golden Age Center and was an Omsbudsman for the residents at the St. James Golden Living Center, she worked with the local veterans at the Missouri Veterans Home, and delivered meals at the St. James Golden Age Center, she not only worked with the seniors but with the young also, she taught students how to read at the Carahan Center in St. James. She also volunteered at the St. James United Methodist Church where she attended. She was known to all as Aunt Lou. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearly and Ella Seabaugh; her husband, Bill on July 6, 1984; sister, Doris Green; brothers-in-law, Eugene Allen Moreland, Lloyd (Shorty) Peters and Buford Green. She is survived by two sister, Nadine Moreland of St. James, Missouri and Audrey Peters of Pacific, Missouri; nieces and nephews, Vickie Dixon and husband Mark, Randy Moreland and wife Roxanne and Tim Moreland and wife Paula and Nina Stewart and husband Mark; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held on Monday, June 25, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri. Rhonda Michelle Hicks Rhonda Michelle Rosenow Hicks of Rolla, Missouri was born in Rolla, Missouri on January 29, 1965 to Charles “Chuck” and Leona (Sargent) Rosenow and passed away on Monday, June 18, 2012 at the age of 47 years. Rhonda worked as a registered nurse in Ohio before returning to Rolla, Missouri approximately two years ago due to health concerns. She was preceded in death by her father, Chuck Rosenow; one brother, Craig Rosenow; grandparents, Glenn and Grace Sargent and William and Ada Rosenow. She is survived by her mother, Leona Rosenow of Rolla, Missouri; brother, J. Scott Rosenow and wife Tracy of St. James, Missouri; half brother, John Rosenow and wife Giuliana of London, England; two nephews, Cliff Rosenow of Springfield, Missouri and Colin Rosenow of St. James, Missouri; two nieces, Nunziatina and Sabrina Rosenow of England; other relatives and friends. Kaysinger Eildean Kaysinger of Bourbon, Missouri was born on February 8, 1926 in Bonne Terre, Missouri and passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012 at the Meramec Nursing Center in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 9 days. She married Troid Kaysinger on September 13, 1946. He preceded her in death on March 14, 1994. While Eildean worked a few odd jobs, her biggest job was as a homemaker. She was a member of the VFW Post 3987 Woman’s Auxiliary. She is survived by her son, Rick Kaysinger of Bourbon, Missouri; three grandchildren, Sean and Eric Kaysinger of Bourbon, Missouri and Crystal Kaysinger of Sullivan, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the Eaton Funeral Chapel in Bourbon, Missouri. Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the chapel with the Rev. Timothy McCarty officiating. Burial followed at the Bourbon Cemetery. Betty Catherine Vickers Mohesky Betty Catherine Vickers Mohesky, nee Terry, of Steelville, Missouri was born March 1, 1932 in Stoddard County, Missouri to John and Marie Mary (Henderson) Terry and passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 80 years. On November 13, 1948 in St. Louis, she was united in marriage to William (Bill) Vickers and to this union four children were born.  He preceded her in death in 2002. She was later united in marriage to Bob Mohesky on May 23, 2009. While living in St. Louis, Betty worked as a receptionist at the Schnucks Company office for 10 years and later after moving to Steelville, Missouri, she was co-owner with her husband Bill at 7 Cedars Supply from 1977 to 2001. Betty was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Steelville, a member of the Parish Council and Ladies Guild at St. Michael’s and a member of TOPS. She was a past president of the Steelville Ambulance Board. She loved fishing and would always try to out-fish Bob. She enjoyed playing golf, volleyball, softball, bowling, crocheting and having a big garden each spring. During retirement, she had time to use her artistic talents and enjoy painting. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marie Terry; her first husband, Bill Vickers; one brother Ed Terry and wife Donna. She is survived by her husband, Bob Mohesky of Steelville, Missouri; two sons Terry Vickers and wife Linda and Alan Vickers and wife Jeannie, all of Sullivan, Missouri; two daughters Susan Dwyer and husband Dennis of Rio Rancho, New Mexico and Sharon Simpson and husband Bob of North Richland Hills, Texas; 12 grandchildren Teri, Beth, Elaine, Kevin, Tom, Shannon, Sarah, Shawn, Kate, Jeff, Tara and Jessica; 13 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lou Mohesky of St. Louis, Missouri; special aunt, Edith Love of Steelville, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Father Paul E. Telken officiating. Special music of “Softly and Tenderly,” “Oh, Loving God,” “Jesus Remember Me” and “Amazing Grace” was played and sung by Karin West. Memories were shared by the family. Sandra "Sandy" Lee Tacchi Sandra “Sandy” Lee Tacchi of Ellisville, Missouri was born on April 19, 1945 at St. Louis, Missouri to Angelo Charles and Goldie Marie (Strauser) Tacchi and passed away at her home on Monday, June 18, 2012 at the age of 67 years. She lived both in the St. Louis and Sullivan, Missouri areas throughout her life. Sandy was employed in the offices of many businesses, which included the insurance industry and swimming pool construction and maintenance. Her last employment was a waitress at Steak and Shake. She really enjoyed working there and thought of her co-workers as family. She loved NASCAR but truly loved her cat “Niki.”  Sandy was a 25-year breast cancer survivor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Angelo and Goldie Tacchi; and a brother, Richard F. Tacchi. She is survived by a son, Christopher Michael Franck of Perryville, Missouri; two daughters, Stephanie Ann Loeher of Wildwood, Missouri and Christina Machelle Casey of Valley Park, Missouri; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Heather, Nick and Tabitha, two sisters, Toni Wilcox and Jackie Blair; a sister in-law, Carolyn Tacchi; other relatives and friends. Memorial funeral services were conducted at noon on Sunday, June 24, 2012 from the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri with Pastor Mike Delashmit officiating.
