Junior W. Dotson
Junior W. Dotson of Rolla, Missouri, formerly of Cuba,
Missouri was born on Sunday, April 13, 1924 in Japan, Missouri to
Walter E. Dotson and Anna Boster Dotson. He passed away on Sunday,
June 19, 2005 at St. James Nursing Center at the age of 81 years, 2
months, and 6 days.
Junior served his country honorably in the United States
Army during WWII. He married Rebecca Dotson in Owensville, Missouri
on February 10, 1953 and to this union one son was born.
He retired from Schwitzer Co. in Rolla, Missouri where
he was a member of the UAW 1760 union. Junior pastured several
churches and had recently been attending Roach Pentecostal Church in
Doolittle, Missouri.
He enjoyed gardening and most of all spending time with
his family and friends who will all sadly miss him.
Those who preceded him in death were his parents; his
wife Rebecca; brother Melvin Dotson; sisters Rose Prewitt, Clara
Griefe, Ruby Griefe and Melva Shoemaker; and one son Richard Roop.
He is survived by his sons Dale Dotson and wife Randee
of O'Fallon, Missouri, David Roop and wife Lucy, Franklin Roop and
wife Judy, all of Dixon, Missouri; daughter Earline Hughes and
husband Louis of Cuba, Missouri; sister Doris Welker of Wentzville,
Missouri.
Grandchildren Brad Hughes, Diane and husband Earl
Markland, Brian Hughes and wife Bridget, Sean Hughes, Sharon Hughes,
Kimberly Dotson, Aric Dotson, David Roop and wife Tammy, Rebecca
Carson and husband Kirk, Paul Roop and wife Melanie; 11 great
grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, June 21, 2005 from 6-8 p.m. at
Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral services were Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at 10
a.m. at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri with Rev. Herman Rogers
officiating. Music selections were "I'll Fly Away," "In the Garden"
and "Amazing Grace" sung by Paul Hutson.
Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri with
full military honors. Serving as pallbearers were Brian, Brad, Sean
and Sharon Hughes, Kimberly Dotson and David Roop.
All arrangements under the direction of Hutson Funeral
Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Earl George Edinger
Earl George Edinger was born Monday, October 27, 1913,
in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of the late Henry Edinger and Elsie
(Reinhardt) Edinger.
He departed this life Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at the
Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla, Missouri, at the age
of 91 years, 7 months and 18 days.
On April 7, 1942, at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri, Earl
was inducted into the United States Army Air Force where he earned
the rank of a Sergeant. He took part in the Gilbert Islands
Campaign. He also received an Asiatic Pacific Service Medal and Good
Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged on October 9, 1945 at
Atlantic City, New Jersey.
On August 3, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri, Earl was
united in marriage to Norma Marie Buehler. They were blessed with
over 46 years together. She preceded Earl in death March 13, 1993.
In addition to his parents and Norma, Earl was preceded
in death by one brother, Henry I. Edinger and one nephew, Eugene G.
Edinger.
Among those who remain to mourn his passing are his
devoted nephew Henry Earl Edinger and wife Lou Ann of St. Louis,
Missouri; great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great
great nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Earl was a member of the Steelville Presbyterian Church,
a member of the Masonic Organization for 56 years, serving over 25
years in Lebanon Lodge #77 AF and AE, and member of Mary and Martha
Chapter #364, OES, Steelville, Missouri, since 1983, serving as Past
Patron.
Earl George Edinger lay in state from 4-8 p.m. Monday,
June 20, 2005 at the Britton Bros. Funeral Home, Steelville,
Missouri where Masonic services were conducted at 7 p.m. followed by
a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. Hugh Stewart.
Earl lay in state from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21,
2005 at the Kutis Funeral Home, South County Chapel, St. Louis,
Missouri.
Graveside services with military honors were held at 11
a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at Jefferson Barracks. Interment
was in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Jefferson Barracks,
Missouri.
All arrangements were entrusted to the care of the
Britton Bros. Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Julius Jefferson Henslee
Julius Jefferson Henslee of Baytown, Texas was born
Monday, September 1, 1930 in Viburnum, Missouri, a son of the late
George Washington Henslee and Alice Payne Henslee.
He departed this life on Saturday, May 28, 2005 at the
Triumph Hospital, Channelview, Texas at the age of 74 years, 8
months and 27 days.
In addition to his parents, Julius was preceded in death
by one sister Hazel Prince King.
Among those who remain to mourn his passing are his
brother, Norman Henslee of Eureka, Missouri, a sister Maxine Sneed
of St. Clair, Missouri; special cousins, Jimmy Lee and Junia May
Turnbough of Davisville, Missouri; nieces, nephews, cousins, other
relatives and friends.
Committal prayers and inurnment was 11 a.m. Friday, June
24, 2005, in the Upper Indian Creek Cemetery, Viburnum, Missouri,
with Rev. Paul Davis officiating.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Britton Bros.
Funeral Home of Steelville, Missouri.
Sadie May (Rector) Ruwwe
Sadie May (Rector) Ruwwe was born December 19, 1913 at
Oak Hill, Mo. to Norman T. Rector and Ella Martha (Souders) Rector.
Sadie Ruwwe passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2005 at the age of
ninety-one years, six months and four days.
Sadie Rector married Andrew William Ruwwe on February
11, 1943 at Steelville, Mo.
Sadie and Andy shared the same birth date of December
19, with Andy being one year older than Sadie.
Sadie and Andy had no children of their own, but had
eleven nieces and nephews to enjoy and spoil.
Sadie is preceded in death by her parents and brothers,
Harvey, Clarence and Marvin Rector, and one sister, Ruth (Rector)
Licklider and an infant sister, Georgia Rector. Also preceding her
in death is nephew Larry Licklider, niece Mable Rector and Norma
Rector Daehn.
Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life is
husband Andy Ruwwe, eight nieces and nephews, Elinor (Rector)
Snelson, Cuba, Mo., Glenda (Rector) Warnhoff and Gary, Rosamond,
California; Virginia (Rector) Apperson and Bill, Granite City, IL,
Joan (Rector) Stewart and Cliff, Cuba, Mo.; Brenda (Licklider)
Stoddard, and Norm, Bourbon, Mo.; Nancy (Rector) Ousbourne and Ron,
Springfield, Mo.; Tony Rector and Sereta, Aurora, Mo. and Mike
Rector, Aurora. Niece-in-law, Dorothy (Larry Licklider's wife),
Cuba, Mo. Several great and great-great nieces and nephews, other
relatives and many friends.
Sadie lived most of her life in the Oak Hill/Bourbon
area. She loved the rural life with hobbies of growing flowers,
vegetable gardens and then canning and preserving the harvest. Sadie
also embroidered quilt blocks and pillowcases. Another real love of
life was dancing anywhere she could find music and a partner. Andy
being her lifetime partner did not join her in dancing. Sadie worked
in several local shoe and cap factories.
Sadie was a member of the Argo Presbyterian Church at
Argo, Mo., and a member of the Argo Ladies Group who are active in
community church dinners and apple butter making.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 25, 2005 at
10:00 a.m. at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Mo.
with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery. The service was officiated by
Rev. Don Kratz.
