MO Local Obituaries for the Week of July 1, 2015 Roy Louis Baldwin Roy Louis Baldwin of Sullivan, Missouri was born in the New Rock area near Bourbon, Missouri on September 17, 1929 to William and Leona (Servais) Baldwin and passed Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at the age of 85 years and 9 months. He was a graduate of Bourbon High School Class of 1947 and later honorably served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. Roy attained the rank of Corporal with the 10th Military Police Company and was a mechanic the in motor pool on all of the military police vehicles. On April 5, 1953 Roy married Joyce Sansouci at the Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan, Missouri and to this union two daughters were born. While still in the service, Roy and Joyce moved to Junction City, Kansas in 1954, where he helped organize the First Baptist Church and was a trustee. Later, after moving back to Sullivan, Roy owned and operated Town and Country TV. After several years, Roy became employed at the former Sullivan Community Hospital as a maintenance man and ambulance driver. He worked there for 22 years before leaving to become a maintenance man at Meramec State Park. He retired after 10 years there. Roy was a 51-year member of the Sullivan Volunteer Fire Department and was past Fire Chief and sat on the first Board of Directors when the District was formed. He was a member of Sullivan Lodge #156 Independent Order of Odd Fellows and a 64-year member of Temple Baptist Church. He worked with the youth and was President of the Men's Brotherhood of Missions. At one time he was chairman of the Board of Deacons. Roy enjoyed camping, fishing and woodworking. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Leona Baldwin; a brother, Everett Baldwin; and two sisters, Viola and Lucille Baldwin. He is survived by his wife, Joyce of the family home; two daughters, Kay L. McCowan and husband Darrell of Sullivan, Missouri and Kim Jones and husband Thomas of Sullivan, Missouri; one granddaughter, Kayla Savant and husband Michael; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held Saturday, June 20, 2015 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan, Missouri. The funeral was concluded with Firefighter's Honors. Interment with military honors was in the Crow Cemetery, rural Sullivan, Missouri. Neal Farmer of Murfreesboro, Tennessee formerly of Steelville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday June 23, 2015 at the age of 56 years. Neil was a native of Steelville, Missouri and a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He was a HVAC Salesman for R.E. Michel Company in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Neal was a graduate of Steelville High Class of 1977 and attended Ranken Technical College in St. Louis Missouri. He loved his Nash his German Shepherd, gardening, grilling on his Green Egg, his 1997 "tricked out" Ford F150 truck, 2013 Jeep Wrangler and Stag Beer. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary and Theodore Brown and Alfred and Marguerite Goodma; and father-in-law, Edgar Stellhorn. Ruth Ann Garver Ruth Ann (Waring) Garver was born July 18, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away June 4, 2015 in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 69 years. She was united in marriage to Everett "Red" Garver on November 14, 1964. Ruth Ann enjoyed bringing happiness to everyone in her life, even at an early age. Her parents, Frank and Ruth Waring managed a number of eating establishments around St. James, Missouri and Ruth Ann quickly learned from her mother many wonderful cooking skills and the expression of warm hospitality which greeted each of their customers at every meal. Ruth Ann will always be remembered by her family, friends, and neighbors for being there when they were in need, or just dropping in to bring all sorts of baked treats and mouth-watering meals. Preparing all the special holiday dinners for her children and grandchildren has created many warm family memories. She is perhaps best known for her years of owning and operating Ruby's Ice Cream. She found true joy in making a huge ice cream cone to serve to that wide-eyed, delighted youngster who always left with a smile! After retiring from Ruby's, she devoted many hours of service to the community by volunteering at the Golden Age Center in St. James, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Kenneth C. Waring. Jack Olms Jack Olms of Steelville, Missouri was born on Wednesday, October 9, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri to Walter and Mary Standing Olms and passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 15 days. Jack served his country honorably in the United States Marines during the Korean War. He married Venita Mae Marston on February 18, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri and to this union seven children were born. Jack worked over 40 years as a sheet metal worker at the McDonnell Douglas Aerospace Industry now Boeing in St. Louis, Missouri and was a member of the Aerospace Workers Union. He was a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church and the American Legion in Steelville, Missouri. He bowled on a bowling league for many years and was a St. Louis Cardinal's ball team fan. He also enjoyed fishing and deer and squirrel hunting. On May 6, 1995 she was married to Mark Shoemaker in Sullivan, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Huff. Ray Edward Wehmeier Ray Edward Wehmeier of St. James, Missouri was born on December 21, 1921 in Newburg, Missouri to William P. and Clair K. (Hudgens) Wehmeier and passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the age of 93 years. On October 26, 1945 he married Ruth (Thomas) Wehmeier. Ray was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He loved farming, hunting, fishing and gardening. Ray and his son Bill founded the historic Wehmeier Angus Farm, but his family and friends were the most important things to him. He was a lifetime member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rolla. Ray retired from the U.S.G.S in 1977. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Clair Wehmeier; his wife, Ruth on March 22, 2012; sister, June Munzert; and a brother-in-law, William R. Thomas.
