Mildred M. Seitz
Mildred Seitz was born August 5, 1915 at the age of 91 years old,
and she passed on July 3, 2007.
She is survived by her three children, Earl (Patty) Seitz, John
Seitz, and Nancy Layton and her brother, Charles Stack. Mildred was
the loving wife of the late John Seitz, and she had eight other
siblings, William Stack, Newt Stack, James Stack, Effie Stack, John
Stack, Stephen Stack, Hallie Stack, and Lou Wood. She is also the
beloved grandmother of 11 and great grandmother of 11.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 6th from 5-8 p.m. at Britton
Funeral Home, and funeral services will be held the following day:
Saturday, July 7th at 11 a.m. at Britton Funeral Home.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of
Cuba, MO
Herman Robert Wood
Herman Wood was born on November 16, 1911 at the age of 95 years
old, and he passed on July 4, 2007.
He is survived by his daughter Diane (Dr. James) Panagotacos,
grandsons Dr. John James Panagotacos and Jason James Panagotacos.
Herman is also the beloved uncle of Ronald Dean Hurst.
The graveside service, at Kinder Cemetery, will be held on Friday
July 6th at 1 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Britton Funeral Home of
Cuba, MO.
Joseph Crocker
Joseph Crocker was born November 12, 1961 in Bismarck,
Missouri, the son of Robert Lee and Jessie Lee (Hedgcoth) Crocker
and passed away Monday, June 25, 2007 as a result of an automobile
accident.
He is survived by his mother, Jessie Crocker of Czar
Tower, Missouri; special friend, Dee Cooper; one son, Dominic “Nick”
Dwayne Heckman and wife Suther of Enid, Oklahoma; five brothers,
James Robert Cocker of Cuba, Missouri, David Crocker and Rebecca of
Steelville, Missouri, Orville Crocker of Czar Tower, Missouri,
Steven Crocker and wife Sharon of Czar Tower, Missouri and Russell
Crocker and wife Valerie of Rolla, Missouri; three sisters, Goldie
Marie Parrett and husband Robert of Steelville, Missouri, Jane
Harmon and husband Don of Steelville, Missouri and Deloris Stricklin
and husband Jessie Jr. of Cherryville, Missouri; one granddaughter,
Hope Heckman and three step grandchildren, Zachary, Avery and Uriya.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 29, 2007 in the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev.
Harrison Brown officiating. Special music of “Amazing Grace” and “An
Unclouded Day” was sung by Bob and Carol Coleman.
Serving as casket bearers were Chris Skaggs, Jordan
Crocker, Don Harmon, Don Hedgcoth, Rick Fox and Tyler Hutchens with
committal prayers and burial in the Sam Crocker Cemetery in
Goodland, Missouri.
Arrangements were under the direction of the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, Missouri.
Bernice Hartung
Bernice T. Hartung, was born in 1919 to Christopher
Lenhoff and Wenna (nee Love) in Belle, Missouri and passed away
Monday, June 18, 2007 at the age of 88 years.
After her first husband, Norman Adams, died in 1953, she
married Burtung Hartung on December 24, 1955. She and her husband
enjoyed dancing and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a twin
brother, Bernard Lenhoff; another brother, Jasper Lenhoff; sister,
Roma Love and her first husband.
She is survived by her husband of the home; a son,
William Adams and wife Laura of Linn, Missouri; daughter, Judy
Tenholder and husband, Ronald of Ballwin, Missouri; five grandsons,
two great grandsons; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 11
a.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Sullivan, Missouri with
Reverend Dr. Charles Arand officiating. Interment was in the Odd
Fellows Cemetery, Sullivan, Missouri.
All arrangements were under the direction of the Eaton
Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri.
James Ray
James L. Ray of Bourbon was born on October 31, 1944 to
Leslie and Mildred (nee Jones) Ray in St. Louis, Missouri and passed
away Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at the age of 62 years.
He married Anita Thornhill on October 15, 1966 in
Bourbon, Missouri and to this union five children were born.
James worked at Ramsey in Sullivan, Missouri, now Mahle
in Manchester, Missouri for 43 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of the home; four sons, Brian
Ray of Sullivan, Missouri, Leslie Ray and wife Colleen of Union,
Missouri, Kevin Ray and fiancée Lisa of Bourbon, Missouri and
Brandon Ray of the home; one daughter, Teresa Lawrence of Bourbon,
Missouri.
One brother, Danny Ray and wife Sue of Branson,
Missouri; one sister, Charlotte Oliver of Dallas, Texas; nine
grandchildren; mother-in-law, Juanita Thornhill of Bourbon,
Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 1 p.m.
from the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri with Pastor James
Austin officiating. Interment was in the Bourbon Cemetery, Bourbon,
Missouri.
All arrangements were under the direction of the Eaton
Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri.
Lizzie Simmerly
Lizzie A. Simmerly of Sullvian, Missouri was born
August, 1922 to Virgil and Mary Frances (nee Clayton) Simmerly in
Hinch, Missouri, and passed away Friday, June 15, 2007 at the age of
84 years.
She made her home in St. Louis, Missouri and was
employed as a bookkeeper for a bridal shop for many years. In her
free time, she enjoyed working in the church she attended, Harmony
Baptist in St. Louis, Missouri, where she was a member. For the past
five years she had made her home in Sullivan, Missouri.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by one brother, John Simmerly and wife
Bessie of Bourbon, Missouri; two sisters, Betty Hardy of Sullivan,
Missouri and Edna Stumpf of Texas; nieces, nephews; other relatives
and friends.
Graveside funeral services were held Monday, June 18,
2007 at 10 a.m. at the Bourbon Cemetery with Rev. Richard Williams
officiating.
All arrangements were under the direction of the Eaton
Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri.
Vivian Young Morrison Warner
Vivian Aileen Morrison Warner, 75, of Cuba, Missouri,
the daughter of Raymong Algernon and Wynema (Underhill) Young,
passed away on Monday, June 25, 2007 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in
Sullivan, Missouri.
After graduating from Steelville High School, Vivian
moved to St. Louis, Missouri in 1948 where she met and married
Claude Morrison. To this union two children were born. The family
moved to California where Vivian continued her education and was
employed as an accountant for Douglas Aircraft Company and Hajoca
Plumbing Supply. Later in life she married John Warner on June 12,
1981 in Thousand Oaks, California.
In her later years, Vivian was a homemaker. Through her
life she enjoyed sewing, working in her flower garden, traveling,
family and friends.
She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Jon William
and Daniel Neil Gruver, Jr.; one son-in-law, Danny Gruver; two
brothers, Roy Young and his wife Earline and Harold Clay Young; and
one brother-in-law, Danny Richard Whalen.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years; one son,
Raymond Morrison of Hot Springs, Arkansas; one daughter, Claudette
Gruver-Smith and husband Kendall of Stoutland, Missouri; three
grandchildren, Cheryl Gruver of Steelville, Missouri, Stephanie and
Diana Morrison, both of Newbury Park, California; two sisters, Vera
Whalen and Lois Bridgeman and husband Orville, both of Newbury Park,
California.
Funeral services were conducted Thursdsay, June 28, 2007
in the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with
Rev. Bud Sanders officiating. Special music of “Build my Mansion”
and “Farther Along” were sung by Brenda Bridgeman accompanied by
Kendall Smith. Closing music of “How Great Thou Art” was played by
Delores Bell.
Serving as casket bearers were Orville Bridgeman, Rodger
Bridgeman, David Doyle, Larry Bridgeman, Richard Bridgeman and
Johnny Bridgeman. Serving as honorary casket bearers were Larry
Jackson and Clifford Bridgeman. Committal prayers and burial were in
the Steelville Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, Missouri.
