Steelville Star-Crawford Mirror, Steelville, Crawford Co. MO Local Obituaries for the Week of July 6, 2000 Nell C. Breuer Nell C. Breuer, 90, Palmyra, passed away June 2, 2000, at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home. She was born August 3, 1909 at Bourbon, MO, the daughter of Frank W. and Martha W. Wilmesherr Linstrombert. She married William Lloyd Breuer August 9, 1930 in Bourbon. He preceded her in death January 27, 1999. Survivors include two daughters, Joan Wiesemann and her husband, Lewis, Palmyra; and Joyce Suter and husband, Johnny, Palmyra; five grandsons, David Wiesemann, Odessa, MO; Mark Wiesemann, Lee's Summit, MO; Joey Suter, Chesterfield, MO; Jerry Suter, Hendersonville, TN; Jay Suter, Chesterfield, MO; and nine great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mabel Adams. Mrs. Breuer was a homemaker. She and her husband had formerly owned and published The LaGrange Indicator in LaGrange, MO, from which they retired after many years of publication. Mrs. Breuer was a graduate of Bourbon High School and was a member of the Palmyra Church of Christ. Funeral services were held Monday, June 5, 2000, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel with Ron Duncan officiating. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery. Casket bearers were David and Mark Wiesemann and Joey, Jerry and Jay Suter. Rev. James "Al" Mouser Rev. James "Al" Mouser formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born on February 7, 1917 in Fredericktown, Missouri to the union of Samual and Flava Mouser nee Young and passed away on June 24, 2000 at the St. Peters Manor in St. Peters, Missouri at the age of 83 years 4 months and 17 days. He was united in marriage to Catherine Louise Hunt on September 2, 1939, and to this union two children, James Franklin and Karen Louise, were born. Al and Catherine were happily married until she preceded him in death on December 8, 1979. On January 31, 1980, Al was united in marriage to Lora Ann East in St. Louis, Missouri. They have been married for 20 years. On April 10, 1944, Al entered the U.S. Navy. He served in the U.S. Navy CB's, 7th Construction Battalion in World War II in the Southern Pacific Theatre he received the Victory Medal and was honorably discharged on January 5, 1946 as a Carpenter's Mate 3rd Class. In 1953 Al was ordained as a Baptist Minister at the Crossroads Mission, Bland, Missouri. He then attended the Clear Creek Mountain Preacher's College at Pineville, Kentucky. After completing his education he returned to pastor the Crossroads Baptist Church at Bland, Missouri. Through the years of his ministry Al served at the First Baptist Church of Hermann, MO, Second Baptist Church of Rolla, Mt. Olive Baptist Church at Dolittle and the Newburg Baptist Church. At the end of his ministry he served as the Meramec Association Missionary Minister until retirement. Al's tireless ministry and witnessing to others will never be forgotten. Rev. Al was a member of the Cuba Masonic Lodge No. 312, Scottish Rite and a member of the Cuba First Baptist Church. Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life are his loving wife, Ann Mouser; one son, James Mouser and his wife Patricia; one daughter, Karen Mouser; one step son, Dan Mouser and wife Vivian; one step daughter, Patsy Chetta and husband Jim; Two brothers, Lloyd Mouser and wife Midge; Charles Mouser and wife Norma; one sister, Faye Phillips and husband Bruce; four grandchildren and one great grandson. Other relatives and many friends. Rev. Al was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and a good friend to all who knew him and will be sadly missed. Rev. James "Al" Mouser was in state at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 28, 2000 at the Cuba First Baptist Church, Cuba, Missouri at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bob Houchins officiating. Interment was in the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
