Chris Bell of Cuba, Missouri was born in Rolla, Missouri on Sunday,
June 17, 1984 to Stephen Bell and Gail Mahurin Bell and passed away
Sunday, June 20, 2010 at the age of 26 years and 3 days.
Chris was a graduate of Crawford County R-II High School. He was employed
as a driver for Mullally Distributing Co., Cuba, Missouri. He enjoyed
hunting and riding his motorcycle.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Gale Mahurin and Donald Bell;
grandmother, Clara Mahurin and father, Stephen Bell.
He is survived by his parents, Gail (Alan) Cape of Cuba, Missouri; grand-
parents, Mary Jean Beasley of Steelville, Missouri, Wilma Bell of Rolla,
Missouri and Jim (Darlene) Cape of Cuba, Missouri; great grandparents,
Edna Mahurin of Mt. Grove, Missouri and Jack Lewis of Steelville, Missouri;
brother, Jeremy (Melissa) King of Eureka, Missouri; sisters, Lendsay Cape
Garbo of Norman, Oklahoma, Courtney Cape of St. Louis, Missouri, Casey Cape
of Saratoga Springs, New York and Stephanie Bell of Rolla, Missouri; nieces,
Ava King and Audrey Guzman; godson, Chase Guzman; aunts and uncles,
Patrick (Laurie) Smith, Denver Mahurin, and Kevin (Kathie) Mahurin, all of
Steelville, Missouri, Pastor Terry (Joanie) Mahurin, Randy Cape and Scott

Visitation was Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at the Hutson Funeral
Home, Cuba, Missouri and funeral service was Thursday, June 24, 2010 at
11 a.m. at Change of Heart Worship Center, Cuba, Missouri with Pastor
Terry Mahurin.
Burial was at the Harrison Cemetery, Jerome, Missouri.
Arrangements under the direction of Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba,
Missouri.
Carl L. Blair
Carl L. Blair of Cuba, Missouri, formerly of Steelville, Missouri, was born
July 23, 1930 in Potosi, Missouri to James Horace Blair and Vicie (Beers)
Blair and passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Cuba Manor in Cuba,
Missouri at the age of 79 years.
Carl worked at Wagner Electric in St. Louis for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Vicie Blair; six
brothers, George, John, James, Charles, Burket and Earl Blair; five
sisters, Martha Oliver, Minerva Martin, Bertha Turnbough, Delores Blair
and Mary Rulo; and close friend, Mary Wallen who he took care of during her
ill health.
He is survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
A graveside service was held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the
Shoal Creek Cemetery, east of Steelville, with Rev. Bob Coleman officiating.
Memories were shared by Al Wallen.
Casket bearers were Taylor Hoerner, Al Wallen, Ken Halbert, Ron Hallum,
Lane Bennett and Bill Bennett.

Mary Alice Bolin
Mary Alice Bolin was born on July 8, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri to
Melvin Littleton and Edna Marie (Raymo) Christeson Bass and passed away
in Neelyville, Missouri on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at the age of 69 years,
11 months and 21 days of age.
Mary was united in marriage to Jessie Neely Bolin on December 14, 1957 in
East St. Louis, Missouri and to this union seven children were born.
Mary enjoyed playing the lottery and doing the scratch off tickets.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Littleton and Edna Marie
Christeson; husband, Jessie Neely Bolin on August 4, 2001; one daughter,
Mary Sue Bolin and one brother, William Christeson;
She is survived by four sons, David Bolin and wife Katherine of Neelyville,
Missouri, Allen Bolin of Salem, Missouri, Terry Bolin of Silva, Missouri and
Joseph Bolin of Silva, Missouri; three daughters, Kathleen Craig of Silva,
Missouri, Shiela Bolin of Houston, Texas and LeeWana Bolin of Silva,
Missouri; three brothers, John Christeson and wife Shirley of Potosi,
Missouri, Dale Christeson and wife Anna of St. James, Missouri and James
Christeson and wife Susan of St. James, Missouri; four sisters, Donna Zimmer
and husband John of Russellville, Arkansas, Louise Straucer and husband
Donald of Mineral Point, Missouri, Edna Belcher and husband Jerry of
St. James, Missouri and Carrol Belcher and husband Ronald of St. James,
Missouri; 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; other relatives and
friends.
Visitation was on Monday, July 5, 2010 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Jones
Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, July 5, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the
Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri with Loraine Bossaller
officiating.
Pallbearers were David Bolin, Allen Bolin, Joseph Bolin, Kathleen Craig,
Shiela Bolin, and LeeWana Bolin.
Burial was in the family plot in the Wentzell Cemetery in Vichy, Missouri.

David Phillip Bonebrake
David Phillip Bonebrake, of St. James, Missouri was born on May 29, 1947
in St. Louis to Charles and Gertrude (nee Wertz) Bonebrake and passed away
on Friday, June 25, 2010 in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 63 years.
He was a Navy Veteran and formerly worked for the Terminal Railroad as a
clerk and driver for Yellow Truck Lines.
He is survived by a daughter, Lisa Richardson and husband Dwayne of
St. Louis, Missouri; granddaughter, Paige Richardson; sister, Juanita
Limbaugh and husband Harold of Cuba, Missouri and close friend, Barbara
Benson of Villa Ridge, Missouri.
Services were private with arrangements by the Eaton Funeral Home,
Sullivan, Missouri.
Michael Douglas Gaddis
Michael Douglas Gaddis of Steelville, Missouri was born on January 24, 1947
in Bloomington, Illinois to James and Marjorie Moit Gaddis and passed away
at Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla, Missouri on Thursday,
June 24, 2010 at the age of 63 years and 5 months.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Marjorie Gaddis.
He is survived by his sons, Michael Douglas Gaddis, II of Phoenix, Arizona,
John Gaddis and Brandon Gaddis, all of Dallas, Texas; daughters, Terri
(David) LeGassey of Phoenix, Arizona and Stacey Gaddis of California;
brothers, Dan (Linda) Gaddis and Don (Mary) Gaddis, all of Steelville,
Missouri; sister, Judy Gaddis of Tucson, Arizona; two grandchildren, Ashley
and Morgan; other relatives and friends.
No public services were held.

Earline Hughes
Earline Hughes nee Roop of Cuba, Missouri was born on Friday,
January 23, 1942 in Kansas City, Kansas to Richard Roop and Rebecca Jane
Dotson Roop and passed away on Friday, July 2, 2010 at Phelps County
Regional Medical Center at the age of 68 years, 5 months and 9 days.
Earline married Louis Silas Hughes on August 1, 1964 in Oak Grove, Missouri
and to this union five children were born.
Earline was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, reading, and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Rebecca Roop;
brother, Richard Roop; brothers-in-law, Audrey Hughes, Henry Isgriggs and
Harvey Rodgers.
She is survived by her husband, Louis; children, John B. Hughes of
Springfield, Missouri, Diane (Earl) Markland of Cuba, Missouri, Brian
Hughes of Sullivan, Missouri, Sean Hughes of Cuba, Missouri and Sharon
(Tony) Corral of Austin, Texas; brothers, Vaughn (Lucy) Roop and Paul
(Judy) Roop, all of Dixon, Missouri and Dale (Randee) Dotson of O’Fallon,
Missouri; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Irene (Robert) Taylor of
Springfield, Missouri, George (Rose) Hughes, Harold (Peggy) Hughes, all
of Rolla, Missouri, Karen Rodgers, Winston (Betty) Hughes and Donald
(Artie) Hughes, all of St. James, Missouri, Ella Hughes of Salem, Missouri
and Alice Isgriggs of Steelville, Missouri; six grandchildren; other

Visitation was Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. and funeral service
was Wednesday, July 6, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba,
Missouri with Rev. Delmar Hutson officiating.
Burial was at the Hughes Cemetery, St. James, Missouri.

Alice Juanita Moore
Alice Juanita Moore of St. James, Missouri was born Monday, November 5, 1928
to James and Zula (nee: Weatherman) Western and passed away Monday,
June 28, 2010 at St. James, Missouri at the age of 81 years, 7 months and
23 days.
Alice was united in marriage to Paul K. Moore on June 28, 1947 at Salado,
Arkansas.
Alice retired in 1992 from the Crawford County R-II School District after
28 years of being the school nurse. Prior to that she worked at the
Sullivan Hospital in the ER and the OB. She was a former member of the Church
of Christ in Cuba and Rolla. She always enjoyed Big Band music, the Beatles
and of course Elvis. But what she loved most in life was spending time with
her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Zula Western; husband,
Paul Moore; son, Maj. Kindall Wayne Moore; brothers, Jimmy and wife Louise
Western, George Western and Bonnie Western; brother-in-law, C.L. and wife
JoAnn Moore; sisters-in-law, Madge Moore and Irene and husband Woodrow
Cantrell; other relatives and friends.
She is survived by her children, Deborah and husband Phil Mullen of Liberty
and Cuba, Missouri, Pam and husband Sam Barone of Kansas City, Missouri,
Rebecca and husband Charlie Guthrie of St. James, Missouri, Susan and
husband Dennis Garoutte of Cabot, Arkansas and James “Wesley” and wife Aimee
Moore of Haskell, Texas; six grandchildren, Kelli, Cliff, Andy, Laura, Devin
and Madyson; great grandchild, Aiden and two on the way; sisters, Mary and
husband Marvin Moore of Roanoke, Texas, Jan and husband Bob Sutton of
Beaumont, California, Paulette Sullivan of Keller, Texas and SA and
husband Dennis House of Missouri City, Texas; sisters-in-law, Becky Western
of Texarkana, Texas and Carol Western of Chipley, Florida; brother-in-law,
Roy Dean Moore of Flint, Michigan; other relatives and friends.
Memorial visitation was held Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 5-7 p.m. at the
Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Memorial service was held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the
Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri with Cliff Mullen officiating.
Special music was “What a Wonderful World,” “Never Grow Old” and
“How Great Thou Art.”

Jasper S. Oliveri
Jasper “Jay” S. Oliveri of Cuba, Missouri was born to Tony and Helen
(Siess) Oliveri on Wednesday, April 9, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri and
passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2010 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age
of 63 years.
Jay worked as a Vendor at Busch Stadium before becoming disabled. He
enjoyed country and western music especially Patsy Cline, St. Louis
Cardinals and Rams, black liquorice, traveling and in his younger days
riding the Hodiamont Street Car in St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Helen Oliveri; other
relatives and friends.
He is survived by his aunt, Elsie Gurie of Gray Summit, Missouri; other
relatives and friends.
Private services were held.

Darren Lee Ragan
Darren Lee Ragan was born on June 26, 1959 at the Charles Still Osteopathic
Hospital in Jefferson City (Cole County) Missouri to Leroy and Dixie Ragan
and passed away at the East Texas Medical Center in Tyler on Wednesday,
June 9, 2010 at the age of 51 years.
Darren left his 1978 classmates at Fox High School early in order to serve
with distinction in the US Army from 1976 to 1981, which included a tour of
duty in Germany, and completed his high school education while in the
military.
He attended the Fox C-6 School District for many years and made many friends
in the Arnold area. Darren was a self-taught skilled craftsman in the
electrical field and practiced his trade in the St. Louis area and continued
his pursuit of an Electro-Mechanical Engineering degree at Angelina College
in Lufkin, Texas, when his health deteriorated recently.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kennard, Texas and actively
participated in various church functions. Darren enjoyed outdoor activities
such as fishing. As health concerns arose, he redirected his activities
with indoor quality time with his family, such as participating in playing
video games with the children.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy and son, Michael.
He is survived by children, Jessica Ragan Moran, Jason Ragan, Jennifer
Ragan, Jonah Ragan, all adult children of Missouri; his wife, Mary (Bass)
Ragan Crockett, Texas; extended family, Shawna Cagle, Michael Cagle, Destiny
Sutton and Darren Lee Ragan, Jr. of Crockett, Texas; 11 grandchildren and a
twelfth expected any day; his mother, Dixie Ragan of Angier, North Carolina;
two brothers, Robert Ragan of Angier, North Carolina and Kevin Ragan and wife
Christine of Floresville, Texas; one sister, Kimberly Woolf and husband
Charlie of Columbia City, Indiana; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Kennard, Texas
on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Jim Durham officiating.
It was Darren’s wish to be cremated and have his cremains returned to
Missouri, to lie next to his father at the Sellers Cemetery near Davisville,
Missouri.
Services in Texas were provided through the Hilliard Funeral Home of Van,
Texas and an additional memorial service will be held in St. Louis on
Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Lemay, Missouri,
1601 Telegraph Road at 10:30 a.m.
A military honor guard will be in attendance from Jefferson Barracks.
Raymond Donald Vance
Raymond Donald Vance of Steelville, Missouri was born Friday, July 14, 1933
at Steelville, Missouri to Jewell and Iona (nee Starks) Vance and passed
away Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 76 years,
11 months and 18 days.
Ray proudly served in the United States Navy from September 1952 till
September 1958.
Ray was married to Joyce A. Dollman on November 21, 1975 at Union, Illinois
and to this union one daughter was born.
Ray retired from Union Special in Illinois after 21 years of dedicated
service. He also had worked for Arnold Engineering in Marengo, Illinois
before retiring to Steelville. Ray or known by some as “Donnie” owned Ray’s
Sharpening Service in Steelville for the last eight years and he was a member
of Rivers of Life Fellowship Church for the last 10 years. In his spare time
he enjoyed raising vegetables and flowers, fishing and spending time with
family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jewell and Iona Vance; sister,
Ilene Pasternacki; other relatives and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce A. Vance of the home; children, Jeffrey
and Dennis Vance, both of Illinois and Timothy Vance of Wisconsin, Penny
Lynn Loefel of Poplar Grove, Illinois, Jenny Lou Vance of Texas and Jill
and husband Andy Slown of Freeport, Illinois; grandchildren; brothers,
Edgar Vance of Ten Mile, Tennessee and Melvin Vance of Poplar Grove,
Illinois; brother-in-law, Frank Pasternacki of Steelville, Missouri;
other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Monday, July 5, 2010 from 4-8 p.m. at the Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba.
Funeral service was held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the Rivers of
Life Fellowship Church, Steelville, Missouri with Pastor Henry Copling
officiating. Special music was “The Great Speckled Bird” and “Life is like
a Mt. Railroad.”
Casket bearers were Bill Coffman, Lester Vance, Frank Pasternacki, Randy
Ransom, Steve Neumann and Tom Lott.
Interment and prayers followed at the Liberty Cemetery, Steelville,
Missouri.

Phyllis Ann Wyatt
Phyllis Ann Wyatt of St. James, Missouri was born in Hastings, Nebraska on
June 24, 1933 to Ernest Rudolph and Anna Marie (Ruhter) Schmidt and passed
away on June 28, 2010, at the Meramec Nursing Center in Sullivan, Missouri
at the age of 77 years and 4 days.
Phyllis was united in marriage to Frank Wyatt Jr. on July 5, 1958 in
Aurora, Colorado and to this union four children were born.
Phyllis was a dietician at the Waynesville Hospital in Waynesville, Missouri
and at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Missouri for
several years. She also worked in the Nursing Homes in Cuba and
St. Roberts as a dietician. Phyllis retired from the Missouri Veteran’s
Home in St. James, Missouri after 10 years of service there.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank on September 10, 2005; one
brother, Bernard Schmidt; one sister, Mary Shinn and one grandson, Doug
Wyatt.
She is survived by four sons, Frank Richard Wyatt III and wife Joan of
Houston, Texas, Gary Allen Wyatt and wife Cythyna of Sullivan, Missouri,
Rick Kevin Wyatt and wife Wendy of St. James, Missouri and Donald Bernard
Wyatt and wife Marcia of St. James, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and 10 great
grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was on Friday, July 2, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at the Jones Funeral
Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at
the St. John Lutheran Church in St. James, Missouri with Jeffrey A.
Schanbacher officiating.
Pallbearers were Michael Wyatt, Pat Wyatt, Matt Wyatt, Alex Wyatt, Steve
Wyatt and Craig Wyatt.
Burial was in the family plot in the Miles Cemetery.
Arrangements under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James,
Missouri.
