MO Local Obituaries for the Week of July 12, 2007 Harvey Eugene Chandler Harvey Eugene Chandler of Cook Station, Missouri was born on Saturday, April 1, 1944 in Palmer, Missouri to Theodore Chandler and Beaulah Mason Chandler. He passed away at Phelps County Regional Hospital on Monday, July 2, 2007 at the age of 63 years, 3 months and 1 day. Harvey married Patricia Fairbairn on January 25, 1964 at Cook Station, Missouri and to this union three children were born. He worked as a laborer for poly pipe manufacturing. He became a Christian in 1971 at Wesco Baptist Church and was baptized by Bro. Ray Alexander. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, being outdoors and enjoying time spent with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and son, Joseph Chandler. He is survived by his children, Michael (Dawn) Chandler of Salem, Missouri, and Patricia George of St. James, Missouri; companion, Edith Schroeder of Cook Station, Missouri and her four children, Earnest Schroeder, Edward Schroeder, Edith Harris and Julie Brand. Brothers, Alvin (Barb) Chandler and Frank (Sandy) Chandler, all of Wesco, Missouri; sisters, Betty Brewer of Cuba, Missouri, Shirley (Larry) Joyce of Sullivan, Missouri, Ellen (Craig) Elsner of St. James, Missouri, Sue (Rick) Martin and Teri (Tim) Dicus, all of Steelville, Missouri; brother-in-law, Dick (Joy) Adkins of Cuba, Missouri; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Visitation was held Thursday, July 5, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri. Funeral service was Friday, July 6, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Bro. Casey Reed officiating. Burial at Carr Cemetery, Cook Station, Missouri with pallbearers Robert Watson, David Knott, Joe George, Michael George, Tim Martin and Roger Ellis. Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Gibson Jr., Jamie Marty, Josh Brand, Rick Bomarito and Tommy Gibson Sr. All arrangements were under the direction of Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri. Donald Ray Fox Donald Ray Fox, was born February 5, 1947 near Success, Missouri, the son of Claude and Peggy (Longwell) Fox, and passed away June 28, 2007 at the age of 60 years and 4 months. He was a life long resident of Licking, Missouri and graduated from Licking High School in 1965. He owned and operated Fox Funeral Home for 36 years and was joined in this endeavor by his wife Carol the last 22 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed farming and raising cattle, fishing and being with his dog, “Sammy.” He was very active in The Field Trial Sportsman Association. He judged many trial events throughout the United States and was teaching his art to fellow sportsmen. He volunteered and served on various committees and boards for many years including the Licking Senior Citizen Housing and Texas County Library Boards. He was a member of the Quail Forever-Piney River Covey of Texas County and the Licking United Methodist Church. He served 10 years as mayor; two years as a consultant for the correctional center project and seven years as alderman. You could see him riding a donkey (or least trying) to benefit the Parks Department, flipping pancakes at the Fire Department breakfast or greeting different governors as they visit the city. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife of the home; two daughters, Dawn Schieler of Terra Belle, California and Rhonda Rao of Kansas City, Missouri; three grandchildren, Dara Schieler, Madison and Charles Rao; his mother of Rolla, Missouri; sister, Cindy Hammonds and husband Rick of Steelville, Missouri; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Don and Margret Heithold of Salem, Missouri; nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Graveside services were held Sunday, July 1, 2007 at Concord Cemetery with Pastor Connie Bell officiating. Pallbearers were nephews, Matt Hammonds, Mark Hammonds, Chad Heithold, Jocab Heithold, Luke Heithold and Blake Heithold. Myrtle Petty Myrtle Petty of Warrenton, Missouri, was born January 10, 1929 to Robert and Mrytle Smith Fahr and passed away June 28, 2007 at the age of 78 years. She was a homemaker and she loved working in her garden and canning. She belonged to Laborers for Christ, Lutheran Bible Translators, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Cuba, Missouri; and was a member of Lutheran’s Women’s League. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Ivonne Grice and Thelma Knoche. She is survived by her husband, Harvey Petty of Warrenton, Missouri; daughters, Vickie (Dennis) Howell of Warrenton, Missouri, Sandy (Darrell) Bollegar of Warrenton, Missouri; brother, Robert (Diane) Fahr of St. Charles, Missouri; sisters, Dorothey (Ken) Kimbrell of Cuba, Missouri and Marcella (James) Petty of Cuba, Missouri; grandchildren, Tiffany (Todd) Claire and Kyle McHenry. Anna Mae Richards Anna Mae Richards of Potosi, Missouri, formerly of Steelville, Missouri, was born Thursday, June 11, 1925 in Steelville, Missouri, the daughter of John and Florence (Edwards) Stafford and passed away Monday, July 2, 2007 at the age of 82. Anna was united in marriage to Bill Richards in Bourbon, Missouri and he preceded her in death in October 1981. She was a homemaker and enjoyed camping, fishing, swimming, laying in the sun with eggshells on her eyes and most important being with her family. She enjoyed cooking, making peach cobbler and fabulous spaghetti sauce. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Stafford and Robert “Bob” Stafford; and two grandsons, Slate and Tink. She is survived by four sons, Charley “Bill” Richards and wife Charlett of Desoto, Missouri, Mike Richards and Jeff Richards, both of Hillsboro, Missouri and Russ Richars and wife Linda of Cadet, Missouri; two daughters, Debbie Schenks and husband Mike of Van Buren, Missouri and Betty Winn and husband Ray of Payette, Idaho; two sisters, Myrna Boyd and husband Roy of Oliverhurst, California and Peggy Tackett and husband George of Sparks, Nevada; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Seitz of Cuba was born Thursday, August 5, 1915 at Crawford County, Missouri to the union of William Stack and Nancy (nee Wright) Stack and passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at Steelville, Missouri at the age of 91 years, 10 months and 29 days. Mildred was united in marriage on May 8, 1937 at St. Louis, Missouri to John Seitz and to this union three children were born. Mildred spent many years working on the family farm helping with the cattle. She raised a garden each year and canned for hours every summer. She enjoyed the beautiful flowers she grew, was a great cook, loved to dance with her husband John in their younger years and enjoyed making quilts for everyone, but what she treasured most was spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; five brothers, William, Newt, James, John and Stephen Seitz; three sisters, Effie and Hallie Stack and Lou Wood and many other relatives and friends. She is survived by two sons, Earl and wife Patty Seitz of Columbia, Missouri and John W. Seitz of Cuba, Missouri; daughter, Nancy and husband Lee Layton of Steelville, Missouri; brother, Charles Stack of St. James, Missouri; brother-in-law, Jim Wood; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; nieces; nephews and other relatives. Brian Senters Brian Keith Senters of Bourbon, Missouri, was born in February of 1962 in Springfield, Illinois to Howard L. Senters and Betty J. Ratliff Senters and passed away Thursday, June 21, 2007 at the age of 45 years. His family moved to the Bourbon area in February of 1979. He was a graduate of Bourbon High School, Class of 1980. He was united in marriage to Pamela Helton in Sullivan, Missouri on July 16, 1988. Brian was self-employed as a building contractor and was known for his love of the game of golf and the outdoors. He was, at one time, an amateur boxer and was also a NASCAR enthusiast, which was a love shared by him and his father. He was preceded in death by his father and his mother-in-law, Mae Helton. He is survived by his wife; one son, Jason Stout of Bourbon, Missouri; three daughters, Brooke Hukill and husband Ryan of Edmond, Oklahoma, Brianna Mock and husband Morgan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Britttany Senters of the family home; his mother; three brothers, Dale Senters and wife Karen of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jeff Senters and wife Sheila of Nashville, Tennessee and Brad Senters and wife Debbie of Sullivan, Misouri; two sisters, Robyn Revelle and husband Chuck of Moore, Oklahoma and Joni Ealey and husband Bill of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Taylor, Jordan and Jackson; father-in-law, Arlen Helton of Sullivan, Missouri; brother-in-law, Rich Helton and wife Karen; three sisters-in-law, Shelby Dunn and husband Darryl, Tammie Corbett and husband Jim and Shelly Jones and husband Donny; other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Monday, June 25, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Bourbon, Missouri with Rev. Leo Shumaker officiating. Cremation followed the services. Herman Robert Wood Herman Robert Wood of St. James, Missouri formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of John Arthur Wood, Jr. and Lillian Ann (Fellner) Wood on November 16, 1911 in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away Wednesday July 4, 2007 in St. James, Missouri at the age of 95 years, 7 months and 19 days. Herman was a self-employed painter and was a retiree of Painters Local #115. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He enjoyed playing golf, watching sports on TV and always enjoyed a good conversation and he was best known for his quick wit. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jane Hurst. He is survived by his daughter, Diane and husband Dr. James Panagotacos of Corte Madera, California; two grandsons, Dr. John James Panagotacos of Los Angeles, California and Jason James Panagotacos of Corte Madera, California; one nephew, Ronald Dean Hurst of San Diego, California. Graveside service was held on Friday, July 6, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri with Rev. Gary Mace, officiating followed by full military honors.
