Hettie May Hewlett
Hettie May Hewlett nee Weidner of Cuba, Missouri was born on July 5, 1910
in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of William Weidner and May Pierson
Weidner and passed away on July 9, 2004 at her home in Cuba, Missouri at
the age of 94 years and 4 days.
On June 16, 1928 Hettie was united in marriage to Barth W. Hewlett in St.
Louis, Missouri. One daughter, Shirley, and one son, Robert, were born to
this union. They were happily married until Barth preceded her in death on
May 19, 1964.
Hettie was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters,
Ellen, William, Wilma and George, son Robert Hewlett and daughter, Shirley
Stubbs.
Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life are her three
grandchildren, Catherine Chandler and husband Jim, Sandra Ellington and
husband Steve and Michael Stubbs; great grandchildren, great great
grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Hettie was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother
and great great grandmother, good friends to all who knew her and will be
sadly missed.
Hettie May Hewlett was in state at the Britton Funeral Home, Cuba,
Missouri where funeral services were held on Saturday, July 10, 2004 at 10
a.m. with Gary Mace officiating.
Interment was in the Valhalla Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
All arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of
Cuba, Missouri.
Robert Wayne Ogle
Robert Wayne Ogle was born Tuesday, December 16, 1930 at Granite City,
Illinois, a son of the late Fredrick W. Ogle and Pearl Ogle (nee Jones).
He entered eternal life Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at the Phelps County
Regional Medical Center, Rolla, Missouri at the age of 73 years, 6 months
and 14 days.
On My 5, 1950, at St. Louis, Missouri, Robert, (better known as "Bob") was
united in marriage to Ruth Olive Howdeshell. Four sons and five daughters
were born to this union. They enjoyed 54 years together.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by one daughter,
Donna Ruth Roper; one grandson, Dennis Lea, Jr.; one brother, Fredrick
Ogle; son-in-law, Richard Roper; one sister died as an infant, Dorothy
Louise Ogle; brothers-in-law, Noah Livesay, Elbert Parrett and wife Myrna;
Treff Hogan, Kenneth Howdeshell, Dwight Howdeshell and wife Margaret and
Eddie Lefler; sisters-in-law, Daphna and husband Versel Callahan.
Among those who remain to mourn is passing are his devoted wife, Ruth Ogle
of the home; four sons, Rick Ogle of St. Louis, Missouri, Dennis Ogle and
wife Debbie of Illinois, Robert "Bobby" Ogle of Steelville, Missouri,
Randy Ogle and wife Cathy of Belton, Missouri; four daughters, Rhonda Hill
and husband Greg of Oklahoma, Linda Lea and husband Dennis of Steelville,
Missouri, Marie Roper of Oklahoma and Leona Jones and husband James of
Steelville, Missouri.
Three brothers, Richard Ogle and wife Patricia of Sullivan, Missouri,
James Ogle of Steelville, Missouri, Raymond Ogle and wife Glenda of
Bismarck, Missouri; two sisters, Shirley Livesay of Arnold, Missouri,
Margaret Bolt and husband Dave of Cuba, Missouri.
Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Linda Ogle, Noel and Helen Howdeshell,
Mildred and Paul Conaway, and Almeda Campbell, all of Cuba, Missouri,
Vivian Hogan of Truxton, Missouri, Anna Mae and Kenneth Biggs, Mary Lefler
of Overland, Missouri, Juanita and Don Crabtree of Bridgeton, Missouri; 28
grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other
relatives and friends.
Robert Wayne Ogle lay in state 4-8 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2004, at the
Britton Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2004 in the Britton
Chapel with Rev. Charles Kelley and brother-in-law Paul Conaway
officiating.
Committal prayers and interment were in Freeman Cemetery, Cherryville,
Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were Scott Conaway, Bobby Jones, Danny
Ogle, David Wilkinson and Mark Wilkinson.
Arrangements were entrusted to Britton Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Rev. Roger Wayne Schnakenberg
Rev. Roger Wayne Schnakenberg of Cuba, Missouri was born on March 3, 1941
in Higginsville, Missouri to the union of Roy John Schnakenberg and Lorna
Emma Lohman Schnakenberg and passed away suddenly on July 1, 2004 at the
Missouri Baptist Hospital, Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 63 years, 3
months and 28 days.
On June 30, 1973 Roger was united in marriage to Kathleen Bahr at Berlin,
Wisconsin. They have been happily married for 31 years.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents.
He served as a teacher at Zion, Harvester, Missouri, principal and teacher
at St. Paul's in Wichita Falls, Texas, Pastor for Immanuel, Potsdam and
St. John's-Hammond, Minnesota and had served as the Pastor for the St.
Paul's Lutheran Church of Cuba, Missouri for the last nine years. He was a
member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Cuba, Missouri, past officer
of the Ministerial Alliance, member of Lutherans for Life and Vitea.
Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life are his loving wife,
Kathleen Schnakenberg; daughter, Jodie Lyn Schnakenberg; son Cory R.
Schnakenberg; two sisters Vila Jean Deuschle and Lora Mae Kempfe and
husband Donald; nieces; nephew; brother and sisters-in-law; other
relatives and many friends.
Roger was a devoted husband, loving father, brother, devoted shepherd of
his flocks, good friend to all who knew him and will be sadly missed.
Rev. Roger Wayne Schnakenberg was in state at the St. Paul's Lutheran
Church of Cuba, Missouri where funeral services were held on Tuesday, July
6, 2004 at 11 a.m. Graveside services were held at 6:30 p.m. at the St.
Matthew Lutheran Church Cemetery, Ernestville-Concordia, Missouri.
Ministers officiating were Rev. Roger Nuerge, Rev. Jerry Whittmaier, Rev.
David Kettner and Rev. Jeff Duncan.
All arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of
Cuba, Missouri.
Brenda Mae Smith
Brenda Mae Smith was born Saturday, August 5, 1961, at St. Louis,
Missouri, a daughter of Edna (Bone) Smith and the late Richard Dale Smith.
She departed this life Sunday, July 4, 2004, at the Missouri Baptist
Medical Center, Sullivan, Missouri, at the age of 42 years, 10 months and
29 days.
Among those who remain are her devoted son, James Edward Ivy, Jr.; her
loving mother, Edna Smith, both of Moberly, Missouri; one brother, Bradley
Dale Smith of Branson, Missouri; four sisters, Mary Smith of Cherryville,
Missouri, Kimberly Lockett, Zoah Smith, Saundra DeClue and husband John;
one granddaughter, Alyssa Lynn Howe; very special friend and caretaker,
Pam Knight, all of Moberly, Missouri; nieces, nephews, cousins, other
relatives and many friends.
Brenda Mae Smith lay in state after 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at the
Britton Brothers Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2004, in the Britton
Chapel with Rev. Bob Coleman officiating.
Committal prayers and interment were in Thompson Cemetery, East End,
Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were John Bone, John DeClue, James E.
Ivy, Israel Lockett, Richard Lockett and Keith Smith. Arrangements were
entrusted to Britton Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Dennis Eugene White
Dennis Eugene White of St. Louis, Missouri was born on January 27, 1941 in
St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Granden Harold White and Dolly R.
Pease White and passed away on July 2, 2004 at the age of 63 years 5
months and 5 days.
Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life are his brother
Charles H. White and wife Dorothy; two nephews Charles E. White and Robert
A. White; one niece Deborah Ann White; other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held on Sunday, July 4, 2004 at Meramec Hills
Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri at 3 p.m. Interment was in the Meramec Hills
Cemetery.
All arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of
Cuba, Missouri.
