MO Local Obituaries for the Week of July 16, 2003 Myron Wayne Garms Myron Wayne Garms was born Thursday, October 16, 1986 at Rolla, Mo., a beloved son to Daniel and Sondra (Callahan) Garms, Myron entered eternal rest Wednesday evening, July 9, 2003 at Owensville, Mo., at the age of 16 years, 8 months and 23 days. Myron was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond A. Garms, Alva M.(Conaway) and Landis J. Callahan. Among those who remain to mourn his passing are his loving parents; two brothers, Matt Garms and wife Barbara of Steelville, Mo., Michael Garms and wife Nicole of Cuba, Mo.; two sisters, Mindy Gillam and husband Jared of Steelville, Mo., and Miranda Garms, also of Steelville, Mo. In addition, Myron is survived by his grandparents Juanita and Wayne King and Ruth Garms, all of Steelville, Mo.; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many, many friends. Myron was described by those who knew him as a very sweet, pleasant, good-hearted young man that would do most anything for anyone. He seemed to make friends easily and was just the kind of person that everyone was drawn toward. He enjoyed playing pranks on others, joking around, and was somewhat mischievous but always in a fun and kind manner. Myron loved the outdoors and always had a dream of being a cowboy. Myron Wayne Garms lay in state 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, July 11, 2003, at the Britton Brothers Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo. Funeral services were held 11 a.m., Saturday, July 12, 2003, in the Britton Chapel with Rev. Bob Coleman officiating. Musical selections were provided by Eldon Barton and Sam Callahan. Committal prayers and interment were in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Steelville, Mo. Serving as pallbearers were Jody Brown, Josh Callahan, Justin Callahan, Jared Gillam, Delbert Hall, Anthony Martin, Brad Thompson and Tom Verble. Arrangements were under the direction of Britton Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo. Mary Catherine Low Mary Catherine Bryan Low of St. Charles, Mo. was born Monday, December 22, 1930 in Leasburg, Mo., daughter of the late George Bryan and Lola Walker Bryan and departed this life Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at the St. John's Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo. at the age of 72 years, 6 months and 16 days. Mary married Donald J. Low on March 9, 1958 in Ferguson, Mo. and to this union one son Tim A. Low was born.Mary grew up in the Leasburg are of Crawford County, graduated from Bourbon High School in 1949. She worked in St. Louis, Mo. for Sears in the customer service area for 20 years until Timothy was born. She later worked for Medicare Glaser Drug Store as a cashier; and baby-sat in her home. Mary accepted the Lord early in life and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Harvester, Mo. She was active in her church and enjoyed working in the nursery. She loved to read, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan. So much so that she would coach them along from her chair. She was very much the motherly type and took care of all her family. She was devoted to and loved her family very much; putting others' needs above her own. Mary was the one who kept in touch with everyone, always thoughtful to send cards and make phone visits. If anyone needed to know how anyone was doing just ask Mary Catherine. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James Bryan and Russell Bryan; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Paul and Ruth Low, Helen and Wayne Jones, and Earl Erbe. Those remaining to mourn her passing are her loving husband Donald J. Low of St. Charles, Mo.; one son Timothy A. Low of St. Charles, Mo.; her brothers and sisters Lindell Bouse and wife Ina, Wendell Bryan and wife Betty, Velma Allison all of Steelville, Mo., Jewell Bryan and wife Shirlene of St. Louis, Mo., Wanda Ray, Norma Sappington and husband Bud, and Charles Bryan and wife Mary Ann all of St. Charles, Mo., Roy Bryan and wife Shirley of O'Fallon, Mo., Lois Gerling and husband Larry of Villa Ridge, Mo., Georgia Bryan of St. James, Mo. Her sisters-in-law Fairy Bryan Walker and husband Tom of Bourbon, Mo., and Jane Erbe of St. Charles, Mo.; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends, all who will sadly miss and fondly remember Mary Catherine Bryan Low. Visitation was held Wednesday, July 9, 2003 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Stygar Mid Rivers Funeral Home in St. Charles, Mo.; and Thursday, July 10, 2003 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Mo. Funeral services were held Friday, July 11, 2003 at the Hutson Funeral Chapel in Steelville, Mo. with Rev. Spencer Hutson officiating. Valerie Hutson sang Special Delivery, In The Garden, and Amazing Grace. Pallbearers were Bryan Gerling, Ken Ray, Steven Ray, Mike Bryan, Kent Sappington, and Jerry Bryan. Local arrangements under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Mo. Frances E. Rose Frances Elizabeth Rose nee Gorman of Cuba, Mo. was born in Salem, Mo. on September 11, 1911 to James Gorman and Nancy White Gorman. She passed away at Cuba, Manor on July 6, 2003 at the age of 91 years, 9 months and 25 days. Frances married Calvin Ralph Rose in St. Louis, Mo. on January 3, 1931 and to this union two sons were born. They moved to Cuba, Mo. in April of 1989 from Patterson, Mo. and were members of the First Baptist Church. She previously made a profession of faith and was saved at the age of 16 years old. Frances was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She lived a long life that included five generations of family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, eight brothers, and three sisters. Those who remain to mourn her passing are two sons Calvin "Gene" Rose and wife Carolyn of St. Louis, Mo., and Darrel Wayne Rose and wife Judith of Tierra Verde, Florida; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; many relatives and friends. Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 8, 2003 from 5 - 7:30 p.m. at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Mo. Funeral services were Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. at Hutson Funereal Home, Cuba, Mo. with Rev. Eric Smith officiating. Burial was Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at 10 a.m. at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, St. Ann, Mo. with pallbearers Andrew, Dale, Jerry, Larry, and Timothy Rose and Sean Abernathy. Danielle Renee Stricklin Danielle Renee Stricklin of Cherryville, Mo., was born Wednesday, May 27, 1987 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Mo. to Donald Lawrence "Hollywood" Stricklin and Mary Elizabeth Hall Stricklin and passed away Thursday, July 3, 2003 as the result of a car accident at the age of 16 years, 1 month and 6 days. Danielle was a student at Steelville High School Class of 2005 just completing her Sophomore year. She was active in the Flag Corps and Future Farmers of America. Danielle enjoyed playing tennis, bowling and being with friends. She had a great sense of humor and knew how to brighten everyone's spirit. She just received her drivers license and started her summer job working at Gibbs Care Center in the dining hall. Danielle was preceded in death by her grandfather Lawrence Stricklin. Those who remain to mourn her passing are her loving parents Donald Lawrence "Hollywood" and Mary Elizabeth Hall Stricklin; her grandparents Woodrow and Dorothy Hall of Cherryville, Mo.; Rosie Calder and husband Bill of Steelville, Mo.; one sister Elizabeth Henry and husband Jamie of Cook Station, Mo.Aunts and uncles David and Pearl Owens of Springfield, Mo., Virginia and Todd Cox of Stockbridge, Georgia; special aunt and uncle Kathy and Vincent DePaulo of Cherryville, Mo. Special cousins Jacqueline Richardson and Gina Garrison; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends who will all fondly remember and sadly miss Danielle Renee Stricklin. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, July 7, 2003 at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Mo. Burial was in the Cherryville Baptist Cemetery in Cherryville, Mo. All arrangements were under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Mo. Kenneth R. Summers Kenneth R. Summers, of Runnells, Iowa, and formerly of House Springs, Missouri, was born to Arthur Ray and Evana Elizabeth (nee Walker) Summers on January 29, 1921, in Steelville, Missouri. He entered into rest on July 9, 2003 at the family home at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 10 days. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; and by his wife, Geneva May Summers. Kenneth was survived by his daughter, Cheryl A. (Jerry) Weber of Runnells, IA; two grandchildren, Erin Elizabeth Hildebrand and Lynn Marie Weber; three great-grandchildren, Cierra, Sydney, and Sage Hildebrand; a nephew, Dave (Susie) Hoff of La Quinta, CA; and other relatives and many friends. Mr. Summers worked as a Sales Manager for KSH Plastics in High Ridge, MO, retiring in 1986. He was a long-time member of Faith United Methodist Church in House Springs, MO. He served his country in WWII. as a bombardier in the Army Air Corps with the 100th Bomber Group. He was a member of the House Springs Lions Club. His warm smile and quick wit will be sadly missed by those who knew him. Visitation, Friday, July 11, 2003, from 3 until 8 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, Mo. 63016. Service, Saturday, July 12, 2003 at 10 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, House Springs, MO.
