Paul A. Becker, Jr.
Paul A. Becker, Jr., of Steelville, Mo., passed away Saturday, June 29,
2002 at the age of 75 years, in his log cabin surrounded by family.
Paul was born September 15, 1926 in St. Louis to Paul A Becker, Sr. and Ann
Rose Becker, the middle of three children.
He married Claudine M. (Delaney) Becker on November 26, 1949. The father of
eight children, Paul worked as a master plumber and served as building
commissioner in Ellisville, Mo. A founding member of Holy Infant Parish in
Ballwin, Mo. After retirement Paul continued to celebrate his faith as a
member of St. Michael's Parish in Steelville, Mo.
An avid outdoorsman, Paul felt at home on the Courtois Creek floating,
camping and fishing. He loved to travel and was an enthusiastic Cardinal
baseball fan and enjoyed whittling wood. Paul was extremely proud of the
log cabin home he built with his family and spent many hours caring for and
enjoying the wildlife with whom he shared the property.
His mother, father and younger brother, Skippy Becker, preceded Paul in
death; as did his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Grace
Delaney, Bertha and John Ernstman.
Paul is survived by is wife Claudine, his sister Ann Huggins, his three
sons Mark Becker and wife Trude, Bob Becker and wife Mona and Tim Becker,
and his five daughters Kathy Niemeyer and husband David, Pat Scott and
husband Eric, Sally Becker, Susan Sayers and Chris Payne and husband Tim.
He is loved and survived by his 17 grandchildren, Amie Jones and husband
Chris, Molly Becker, Kim Rolfe and husband David, Daniel Becker and wife
Kristy, Stacey Hubbard, Nichole Sayers, Lindsey Becker, Tim Becker, Jr.,
Ryan Becker, Andy Becker, Sam Sayers, Matt Becker, Ryan Hubbard, Ben Payne,
Taylor Payne, Emily Becker and Sarah Smith.
He is also survived by his five great-grandchildren Bradley Jones, Lainie
Jones, Noah Becker, Kaden Hubbard and Tristan Jones; brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law Tom and Mary Delaney and Henrietta and Albert Koebbe, other
relatives and many friends.
Visitation for Paul A. Becker, Jr. was held 5-9 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2002,
at the Schrader Funeral Home, Ballwin, Mo.
Mass was held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2002 at Holy Infant Parish,
Ballwin, Mo. Mass was held 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2002 at St. Michael's
Catholic Church, Steelville, Mo.
Arrangements were under the direction of Britton Funeral Home, Steelville,
Mo.
Anna M. Campbell
Anna M. Campbell of Cuba, Mo., formerly of Sullivan, Mo., passed away on
Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at the age of 77 years.
Mrs. Campbell was born on July 14, 1924 in St. Louis, Mo. to Fred F. and
Emma L. (Wespi) Finney. Her childhood years were spent in Sullivan. On
April 6, 1944 she was joined in marriage to Harry S. Campbell in Houston,
Mo., and to their union seven children were born. Throughout her adult
life, Anna primarily served her family as a devoted wife, mother,
grandmother, and homemaker.
In 1964 she moved with her family to Bourbon, Mo., and then to Cuba the
following year. Anna enjoyed cooking, gardening, flowers, and raising
grandchildren and chickens. She was a member of the Cuba Free Will Baptist
Church, and will be remembered and cherished as an extremely patient,
caring, and giving person.
She is survived by four sons, Mike Campbell and wife, Rosemary, Gary
Campbell and wife, Lucille, and Steve Campbell and wife, Christine, all of
Cuba, and Dave Campbell and wife, Terry, of St. James, Mo.; three
daughters, Pat Shafferkoetter of Sullivan, Nancy Spurgeon and husband, Don,
and Fannie Lea and husband, Joe, all of Cuba; one brother, Charles F.
Finney of Sullivan; 23 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, other
relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death
by one brother, Georgie Finney, one grandchild, Johana M. Campbell, and one
great-grandchild, Noah Terrill.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2002 from the
Chapel of the Hassebroek Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Rick
Dablemont officiating. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation was from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2002 and from
1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2002 at the
Hassebroek Funeral Home in Sullivan.
If desired, contributions may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America
or to the Cuba Free Will Baptist Church in memory of Anna M. Campbell.
Ina Mae Eaton
Ina Mae Eaton nee Morrison was born Monday, November 13, 1922 in
Cherryville, Missouri to the late John Everett Morrison and Elsie Madge
Callahan and departed this life Monday, July 8, 2002 at the Mineral Area
Regional Medical Center in Farmington, Missouri at the age of 79 years, 7
months and 25 days. Ina married William "Bill" Eaton on January 6, 1940 in
Steelville, Missouri and to this union six children were born.
Ina and Bill made their home together over 53 years until his death
November 28, 1993. She later moved to Steelville homes having sold the farm
and later moved to Park Hills, Missouri near her daughter Donna. Ina loved
her family, she enjoyed tending her flowers, cooking and spending time with
her children and grandchildren.
Ina was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, infant daughter
Janet Marie, one son Billy Joe Eaton, one brother Kenneth Morrison, one
grandson Michael King and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Ina is survived by her loving children Ron Eaton and wife Sharon of House
Springs, Missouri; Elsie King and husband Don of Sullivan, Missouri; Ann
Reed and husband Paul of Desoto, Missouri and Donna Reed and husband Harold
of Park Hills, Missouri; daughter-in-law Christine Eaton of Cherryville,
Missouri; 20 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.
One brother Rev. Clarence Morrison and wife Mariam of Sunset Hills,
Missouri; four sisters Mildred Woodrome of Cuba, Missouri, Nina Setzer of
Cuba, Missouri, Lorraine Whorton and husband Herb of Antonia, Missouri and
Ruth Turnbough and husband Gene of St. James, Missouri.
Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and
many friends all who will sadly miss and fondly remember Ina Mae Eaton.
Visitation was held Wednesday, July 10, 2002 from 6-9 p.m. at the Hutson
Funeral Chapel in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Harvey Buckley
officiating.
Joe and Rita Eaton sang Precious Lord Take My Hand and the other
grandchildren joined in singing Consider the Lilies. Pallbearers were
Ronald Eaton, Bill Eaton, Randy Eaton, Jerry Reed, Harold Reed and Bobby
King.
Burial was in the Freeman Cemetery in Cherryville, Missouri. All
arrangements were under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home in
Steelville, Missouri.
Velma Rosalee Holt
Velma Rosalee Holt nee Asher of Steelville, Mo., was born Tuesday, May 18,
1920, in St. James, Mo., the youngest of 13 children born to Jasper Asher
and Asbrene Ida (Mitchell) Asher.
She entered eternal rest Thursday, July 11, 2002, at the Phelps County
Regional Medical Center, Rolla, Mo., at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 23
days.
Velma was married to Thomas D. Holt. No children were born to this union.
He preceded her in death as did her six brothers and six sisters, Elba
Asher, Raymond Asher, Wilbert Asher and wife Marie, Jack Asher, Virgil
Asher and wife Helen, Marion Asher and wife Gladys, Alta and husband Emmert
Owens, Adele and husband Frank Seidl, Grace Asher, Viola and husband Glen
Shuey, Mildred Asher, Elsie and husband Raymond Lewis.
Among those who remain to mourn her passing are sisters-in-law,
brothers-in-law, and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces,
great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rosalee Holt lay in state 4-8 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2002, at the Britton
Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2002, in the Britton
Chapel with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. Carol and Bob Coleman provided
musical selections.
Committal prayers and interment were in Barnicle Chapel Cemetery,
Steelville, Mo.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home,
Steelville, Mo.
