MO Local Obituaries for the Week of July 18, 2018 Eugene Lark Bonham Eugene Lark Bonham of Tucson, Arizona was born on April 13, 1927 to Herbert R. and Martha L. Bonham and passed away on July 6, 2018 at the age of 91 years, 2 months and 26 days. He married Maureen Ruth John Bonham on November 11, 1950 in Tucson, Arizona. He was a 26 year career veteran. He was a Fire Chief with the United States Air Force and served his country proudly for 26 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maureen Bonham; parents, Herbert and Martha Bonham; one son, Charles Bonham; brothers, Harold, Herbert, Max, Victor and Charles Bonham; and sisters, Catherine Bonham House and Inez Babineau Bonham. He is survived by four sons, David Bonham and wife Nancy of Tucson, Arizona, Steven Bonham and wife Cindy of Granite Bay, California, Larry Bonham and wife Kim of Los Altos Hills, California and James Bonham of Elk Grove, California; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Maxine Copeland of St. James, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Full military graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on July 11, 2018 at the Broadway Memorial Cemetery in St. James, Missouri with Jerry Baumann officiating. Burial was in the Broadway Memorial Cemetery in the St. James, Missouri with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Audrey Johnson Gibbs Audrey Johnson Gibbs was born in Valley Park, Missouri to John and Anna Psora on June 7, 1922, passed away on July 10, 2018 at the age of 96 years. Near the beginning of World War II, Audrey met Rodney Johnson while he was stationed at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis, Missouri. After his discharge from the Army, they were married on December 11, 1945. In addition to managing the family farm at Huzzah, Missouri, she and Rodney both were employed by Cuba Shoe Company. After Rodney's death in 1981, Audrey reconnected with Claude "Hack" Gibbs, her sweetheart from Valley Park High School, who was also a widower, Hack and Audrey were married in 1983. Hack, a member of the 34th Bomb Group, was a World War II veteran as well. After 32 years of marriage, Hack passed away in 2015. She and Rodney attended every event in which their daughters were involved throughout their lives. Audrey continued this tradition for the rest of her life. She also taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at Huzzah Baptist Church, where she was a member. During World War II, she worked at Small Arms, a manufacturer of ammunitions in St. Louis, Missouri. Later in life, she and Hack enjoyed attending the annual reunions for his 34th Bomb Group. She was an expert at sewing and quilting, and she enjoyed gardening and canning. She was an equally talented cook and will be remembered for generations to come for her "light rolls," which were a frequent request by family members at dinners and reunions. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Psora; husband, Rodney Johnson; brother, Jim Psora; second husband, Hack Gibbs; daughter, Jacqueline (Johnson) Cheatham; and sons-in-law, Joe Ollis and Charlie Puffer. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Ollis; son-in-law, Paul Cheatham; grandchildren, Chris Ollis and wife Jessica, Matthew Ollis, Allison Ellis and husband John, Chuck Puffer and wife Tracey, and Corey Morrison and husband Ray; great grandchildren, Shaun and Sam Ellis, Morgan Puffer and Fletcher and Campbell Ollis; sister-in-law, Mildred Gahr; other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on July 21, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Pastor Jerry Beers officiating. Tracey Lynn Jenkins Tracey Lynn Jenkins of Fenton, Missouri was born September 14, 1969 in Highland, Illinois to Robert James and Lynn Carol Lando Young and passed away Monday July 9, 2018 at the age of 48 years. She married David Allen Jenkins on March 4, 1995 at Glencarbon, Illinois. Tracey was the rock and the glue for the entire family. Tracey enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting and didn't mind telling when she caught the biggest fish or shot the biggest deer. She graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1988. She taught preschool for 20 years most recently teaching at Faith Academy in Sunset Hills, Missouri. She volunteered for several years on the Wolf Creek fire Department Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert James Young; and mother and father-in-law, Karl and Juanita Jenkins. She is survived by her mother, Lynn Carol Young of French Village, Missouri; husband, David Jenkins of Fenton, Missouri; daughters, Amanda Marie Paule and husband John of O'Fallon, Missouri and Stephanie Michelle Jenkins of Kansas City, Kansas; one brother, Steve Young and wife Lesa of Farmington, Missouri; one sister, Lisa Whitaker and husband Bill of Glencarbon, Illinois; four grandchildren, Margaret, Lucian, Elizabeth (Lily) and Theodore; other relatives and friends. Shirley Marie Keasling Shirley Marie Keasling of Worden, Illinois was born on May 13, 1938 to Charles Everett and Lena Marie Singleton Davis in Dixon, Missouri and passed away on July 8, 2018 at the age of 80 years, 1 month and 25 days. She married George Leroy Keasling. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lena Marie Singleton Davis; husband, George Keasling; brother, Greg Davis; step-mother, Neva Davis; and step-father, Donal Stombaugh. Jerry Wayne Phillips Jerry Wayne Phillips of O'Fallon, Missouri was born on Sunday, March 5, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri to Otis Price and Loretta Hefty Phillips and passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the age of 74 years. Jerry served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married Bernadette Burns on August 29, 1964 at Tower Grove Baptist Church, St. Louis, Missouri. Jerry earned his Master in Education degree at Webster College and taught a few years in the Windsor School District. He later owned and operated a muffler shop for a few years. He was a member of O'Fallon Baptist Church and volunteered serving in many areas. He enjoyed collecting die cast model cars and was a Chevrolet guy, always driving and owning Chevrolet cars. Jerry was a committed servant of the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Loretta Phillips; step-mother, Mildred Phillips; and parents-in-law, Allen and Irene Burns. He is survived by his wife, Bernadette Phillips of O'Fallon, Missouri; sons, Todd (Kristen) Phillips of Lake St. Louis, Missouri and Derek (Jennifer) Phillips of St. Peters, Missouri; grandchildren, Connor Phillips, Brayden Phillips, Jacob Phillips, Nick Beeler and Danielle Beeler; sister-in-law, Carolyn Duggin of Des Peres, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
