Betty was a homemaker. She enjoyed taking care of her home, playing games on her computer and spending time with her family. Myrtle was baptized in Second Baptist Church over 50 years ago. She enjoyed reading, quilting, embroidery, sewing, and watching her favorite TV shows, "Days of Our Lives" and Life Time movies. She always kept her hair and nails done, her house clean and was a hard worker. Elizabeth "Betty" Nell Kimberlin Griffin Elizabeth "Betty" Nell Kimberlin Griffin of Steelville, Missouri was born December 3, 1924 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Phillip Grant and Maud Wilson Smith and passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the age of 91 years, 7 months and 9 days. In March of 1941 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, she married Dayle E. Kimberlin who preceded her in death in 1999. In September of 2001, she married Paul Griffin who preceded her in death in 2007. Betty worked alongside her husband Dayle for many years keeping the books in their plumbing business. She spent many hours aside Ava Viehman when starting up the Steelville Star and working up at Golden Echoes and the resale shop. She also donated her time sewing cooking aprons for the local Masonic Hall and making treats for the Steelville Fire Protection District and Ambulance District. She volunteered her home many times to the local Boy Scouts, Troop 477, with a place to meet, have refreshments or meals. In 2012, she was given an Honorary Grandmother award from the Boy Scouts. Betty was a member of the Meramec Garden Club, Eastern Star and Ozark Trail Blazers and attended the Church of Christ in Cuba. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Dayle Kimberlin and Paul Griffin; two sons, Schuyler "Scott" Kimberlin and Mickey D. Kimberlin; brothers, Rush, Ralph and Raymond Smith; and sisters, Evelyn, Sybil and Bonnie. Hufendick Jr. of Union, Missouri was born December 26, 1947 to Albert Hufendick Sr. and Mary (nee Nettles) and passed away Monday, July 11, 2016 at the age of 68 years. Al proudly served his country in the United States Army, serving two tours in Vietnam and receiving a Purple Heart. He was a Paratrooper for the 101 Airborne and deployed as a Tunnel Rat. He was a member of VFW Post 218 in Washington, Missouri and American Legion in St. Clair, Missouri. On May 26, 2000 he was united in marriage to Vida in Warrenton, Missouri. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bourbon and was known as a fun loving and caring individual. He enjoyed fishing and camping and St. Louis Cardinal Baseball. Michael was also known as a workaholic and was meticulous in his yardwork and keeping his yard manicured. On June 6, 1987 in Pevely, Missouri he married Geraldine Elaine Green and to this union four children were born. "Buzz" served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1971-1974. He was employed at Chrysler in St. Louis, Missouri and retired after 31 years. He was a member of the Local #136. "Buzz" was raised in the Pentecostal faith. He enjoyed fishing and loved all of the hours he spent with his horses, raising, breeding and riding. He was always known as "Cowboy." She became a member of Straightway Baptist Church, Steelville, Missouri, only six months after the founding members. She served as the secretary, a Sunday School teacher and many other jobs. She loved working in the nursery taking care of many children throughout the years. She was famous at Straightway Baptist for her apple dumplings, which brought in large donations at church fundraisers. She worked 38 years as a bookkeeper as well as other positions at Steelville Telephone Exchange. After she retired, she babysat for many children in the area. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Richardson; parents, Vernon and Agnes Sanders; mother-in-law, Hazel Harman; brother-in-law, Doyle Moutray; great grandson, Peyton Robert Thomlinson; and niece, Penny Lee Sanders. Phillip "Rocky" Terris Phillip "Rocky" Terris of Sullivan, Missouri was born August 7, 1942 at Sullivan, Missouri to Alexander "Rocky" and Mary Margarette (Blanton) Terris and passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 29 days. Rocky, as he was known by his family and friends, was raised by his grandparents, Jesse Virgil and Minnie (Benson) Blanton of Sullivan, Missouri. Rocky graduated from Sullivan High School in 1960 and later honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy as an aviation electronics technician on board the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal. After his discharge, he became employed at McDonnell Aircraft as an electronics supervisor and retired as an industrial engineer in 1991. Rocky then started his own sign and graphics business (Terris Signs & Graphics), which he delighted in until his death. He enjoyed and excelled at artwork, drawing and computer related graphics. Rocky was fond of woodworking, building model railroads and earlier in his life loved boating, fishing and metal detecting. He also took great pleasure in his pet dogs. He was preceded in death by his uncle and aunt, Virgil and Imogene Blanton; cousin, Debbie Blanton Sites; favorite great uncle, Tom Blanton; and good friend, Junior Bobbitt of Sullivan, Missouri. Elmer Lewis Ware Elmer Lewis Ware of Cuba, Missouri was born on June 23, 1930 in Cuba, Missouri to Jesse and Annie (Osborn) Ware and passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016 at the age of 86 years. Elmer proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, during the Korean War Conflict, from December 1951 till December 1953. He earned the National Defense Medal. Elmer was a residential carpenter most of his life and he owned and operated a Ware Trucking Company in his later years. Elmer was a longtime member of Delhi Baptist Church and he enjoyed farming, cattle, flying his airplane and hunting.
