Harold served his country honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. After the service, he worked as an offset printer and most recently at Betz Printing in Sullivan, Missouri. He married Evelyn Olene Gilliland in Orlando, MS on December 24, 1954. His hobbies were photography and repairing small household appliances. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn of the home; brother, Wilbur W. Blackwell and wife Jeanne of Midwest City, Oklahoma; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Argie and John Moses, Margie and Maurice Grant, all of Cuba, Missouri, and Ann and Jack Brock of Sikeston, Missouri; double cousin, Becky Blackwell of Cuba, Missouri; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Cline of Cuba, Missouri was born November 28, 1938 and left from this life on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 69 years 7 months and 19 days. Wilma retired in 2003 after 30+ years as a dedicated bookkeeper and secretary. Wilma was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cuba since 1983. She served on the Crawford County Fair Board for many years. She was a member of the Cuba Lions Club, Cuba Chamber of Commerce & Shelter Pals. Wilma served on the Planning & Zoning Committee & Park Board Committee for the City of Cuba and many other committees. Wilma had a soft spot in her heart for animals. She was part of the National Humane Society and the Wolf Sanctuary in Eureka, Missouri but her favorite animal was her cat “Baby.” Wilma enjoyed collecting “Tigger’s” for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Edna Hoss; one sister, Pat Cline and other family and friends. Collins of Bourbon, Missouri was born July 20, 1934 at St. Louis, Missouri to Joseph and Priscilla (Wurglitz) Gentile and passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at the age of 73 years. She was loved by all and was a person who never knew a stranger. Anna was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church of Bourbon where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed golf in her free time and had worked as a waitress at the Hen House in Bourbon. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Theresa Coppersmith. (Bill) Cox of St. James, Missouri, was born in Craddock, Missouri on July 9, 1922, the son of Wayne and Beulah (Black) Cox and passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008, in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 86. He grew up on the large family farm that had been in the Black and Cox family for many years. In 1934 he came to St. James with his mother, where he attended the St. James Schools. Bill graduated from St. James High School in 1941. Bill was united in marriage to Kathryn Mae Krueger in 1942, and to this union one son, Tom, was born. Bill was inducted into the United States Army during World War II, where he proudly served his country for 39 months. After his discharge, Bill returned to St. James and went into the plumbing, heating and electrical business. Bill and Kathryn were vital members of the St. James community. Bill served on the boards of both the St. James and Phelps County Bank for 25 years. He was also on the Board of Directors of the St. James Chamber of Commerce, the Boys Town Board and the St. James City Council. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #230 and of the Scottish Rite AF & AM of St. Louis. He enjoyed playing golf when his health permitted and has held a charter membership to the St. James Golf Club since its inception. He enjoyed going to the horse races in Hot Springs, Arkansas, for many years, going in groups with other St. James couples, it was a tradition that he and Kathryn Mae looked forward to every year until, for health reasons, they stopped attending. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Virginia Harmon; and nephew, Bob Harmon. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Mae, of the home; son, Tom Cox and wife Pati, of St. James, Missouri; grandsons, Brandon and Derrick Cox; niece, Kay Harmon, of Alton, Illinois. She passed away Friday, July 11, 2008 at her daughter’s home in Jamestown, Missouri at the age of 85 years. She was married to Luther Max Hutchings who preceded her in death on December 12, 1992. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Anton; one infant son, Michael and one sister, Steffi Proto. Emma was a member of the First Baptist Church of Prairie Home and attended the Cherryville Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Happy Hour Extension Club of Steelville and the Ladies Quilt Group of Cherryville Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting and cooking her children’s favorite stuffed peppers. Lucille married Harold William Ray on March 4, 1933 in Leasburg, Missouri and to this union three children were born. Lucille worked several years as a bookkeeper in advertising at the Stout Sign Co. and also a secretary for Rexall Drug both in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church where she had previously served as Sunday School secretary. Her hobbies were sewing clothes for her children, knitting, crocheting, piecing quilts, home canning, especially jellies and was an excellent housekeeper. Raymond Stanley Scott Raymond Stanley Scott of Steelville, Missouri was born May 2, 1912 in Steelville to Raymond and Camille (Metcalf) Scott and passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2008, at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla at the age of 96. On June 7, 1933, he was united in marriage to Roberta “Bobbie” McIndoo who preceded him in death on September 28, 1998. He will be sadly missed by his three sons, Stanley M. Scott and wife Pat of Steelville, Lawrence “Larry” C. Scott of Macclenny, Florida and Richard C. Scott of Mobile, Alabama; nine grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, “Bobbie”; one sister, Barbara Johnson and husband Frank; and two daughters-in-law, Patricia Scott and Bonnie Scott. Stanley served in the U.S. Army during WWII at the rank of captain. He was a member of the Steelville Presbyterian Church, the oldest active member and church treasurer for 60 years. Dale was united marriage to Edna M. Powell on June 11, 1954 in Potosi, Missouri together they shared 47 years of marriage. Dale and Edna owned and operated Summers Market in Cuba for many years.
