She married John W. Bayless on September 3, 1983. She worked as a hairdresser for may years and worked for J.C. Penney Company in seven cities. Her favorite pastime was reading. She loved magazines and Danielle Steele novels. She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Agnes; and four brothers, Olin, Larry, Charles and Alton. She was survived by her husband, John Bayless; children, Tina Dalton and Keith Dalton; one brother, Fred Holeman; three sisters, Zelma Middlebrook, Francine Exner and Talley Williams; grandchildren and great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Edward Lee Campbell Edward Lee Campbell of Steelville, Missouri was born in Cherryville, Missouri on Friday, September 26, 1924 to Francis Marion and Margaret Sarah Wilkinson Campbell and passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the age of 94 years, 9 months and 24 days. Edward grew up in Cherryville, Missouri where he attended Valley Side School and later attended Steelville High School. He had to quit school after 10th grade to make a living for his parents and siblings on the family farm while four of his brothers were gone to war defending their country. While he was in school he was active in baseball and track. He married Fern L. Walker on September 29, 1945 in Steelville, Missouri by Rev. Sam Roper. Shortly after they were married, they moved to St. Louis, Missouri where Edward worked for Wagner Electric. Fern mentioned Edward got "country fever" so they returned to Steelville, Missouri in 1953 and he worked at Brown Shoe as a heel sander until he retired in 1986. Edward came to know Christ at an early age. He was a member of Liberty Methodist Church in Steelville, Missouri where he served on the Church and Cemetery Board for many years. He later attended Steelville Presbyterian Church. Edward continued to play baseball into adulthood, he was on a team while working at Wagner Electric and a fast-pitch softball team at Brown Shoe. He was a St. Louis Cardinal fan. He enjoyed raising beagle dogs to hunt rabbits and enjoyed fishing and gigging. He and Fern liked to go camping at Pomme de Terre and Truman Lake. He liked collecting coins and clocks and he had a room where he liked to display his collection of antique items. Rhonda Kay Weber Crane Rhonda Kay Weber Crane of St. Charles, Missouri was born on October 9, 1955 and passed away Monday, July 8, 2019 at the age of 63 years. Rhonda grew up in Cuba, Missouri. She was the proprietor of Magpie's Restaurant on Main Street in St. Charles, Missouri for 35 years, fulfilling her dream of owning a restaurant and making her the most-enduring, single owner of a business on the historic street. Her recipes have been featured in Gourmet Magazine, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and other publications. She previously owned and operated on Main Street, Magpie's Bakery & Creamery, River Star Cafˇ, and The Cats' Pajamas. She also was active and influential on the boards of her homeowners' association, Special Business District of City of St. Charles, and South Main Preservation Society. A true connoisseur of life and living, she enjoyed traveling, including trips to Yellowstone, Wine Country, Spain, Italy, the Northeast and Pawleys Island. She especially relished her annual trips to New Smyrna Beach, where days before her passing she checked off watching fireworks over the beach from her bucket list. She delighted in New Orleans culture and cuisine and was known for hosting raucous Mardi Gras parties with Mike, complete with succulent shrimp and grits, gumbo, jambalaya and corn bread muffins. She was also an avid fan of Cardinals baseball and local musicians, and she played a mean game of Words with Friends. A "mom" to many, her love and zest for living influenced countless lives. Kristy Caroline Crawford Kristy Caroline Crawford (nee Lindsey) of Steelville, Missouri was born on Wednesday, April 5, 1967 in Garnett, Kansas to Joseph Lee Lindsey Sr. and Linda Carol Luparelli Lindsey and passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the age of 52 years, 3 months and 11 days. Kristy grew up in Corydon, Indiana where she attended school and lived until she met Rick Crawford, who she married on February 14, 2018 in Denver, Colorado. Kristy attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Sullivan, Missouri. She spent the majority of her life as a housewife and her world revolved around her family. Kristy grew up very close with her brother Joseph Jr., which made her a bit of a tom boy. She was a natural caregiver and was always making sure her family was taken care of. She helped raise her nephew Joseph Lindsey, III. Kristy loved music and to dance, she enjoyed cooking and was good at it. Kristy loved Jesus. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Lindsey Sr.; grandparents, Seymore and Clara (Hannell) Lindsey and John and Rose (McCullough) Luparelli. Garland "Sonny" Edward Eaton Jr. Garland "Sonny" Edward Eaton Jr. of Cherryville, Missouri was born in Steelville, Missouri on Wednesday, April 10, 1957 to Garland Edward Eaton Sr. and Rayella Turnbough Eaton and passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at the age of 62 years and 3 months. Sonny attended Viburnum Schools and graduated with the Class of 1975. He married Susan Johnson on December 24, 1999 in Cuba, Missouri. Sonny was a jack of all trades. He especially was a hard worker and was self-employed as a diesel mechanic. He was also an inventor. He enjoyed changing things and making them different. Sonny loved motorcycles, both building and riding them. He liked deer hunting and eating wild game. He had a heart of gold and for those that knew him, could trust that they could count on him at any time of day. Kermit "Larry" Garner Kermit "Larry" Garner of St. James, Missouri was born in Advance, Missouri on March 27, 1927 to John L. and Odena Garner and passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the age of 92 years. Kermit proudly served his country in the United State Air Force where he was an Aircraft Mechanic. After he returned home he met Martha Bullock, and they were married on April 19, 1947.. Kermit worked as an electrician, and was a member of the Electricians Union. After he retired, he and Martha traveled some, often making Las Vegas or Arizona home for the winter. He loved the rivers and lakes, spending a lot of time every summer on the Lack of the Ozarks, fishing and running trot lines on the weekends. They enjoyed boating, water sking, and spending the weekends in a cabin. Kermit attended the St James Christian Church for the past several years. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Odena Garner; and his wife, Martha in 2015. On October 3, 1953 he married Ethel (Feeler) Halbert. Homer was a truck driver for over 30 years for MSD in St. Louis, Missouri. In his younger days he was a fast pitch softball pitcher. He also enjoyed auctioneering, going to shooting matches, coon hunting, coon dog water racing, deer hunting and driving his four wheeler everywhere. Homer told many stories of his past. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge # 77 in Steelville, MO. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lillian Halbert; one brother, Carmen Halbert; and three sisters, Hallie Martin, Bell Ives and Ina Kreamalmeyer. Wayne Michael Hellon Wayne Michael Hellon of Bland, Missouri was born on May 25, 1953 to Roy and Shirley Schmitt Hellon in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018 at the age of 66 years, 1 month and 20 days. He married Beverly Elaine McLeod on May 24, 2003 in Bland, Missouri. Wayne grew up in south St. Louis, Missouri where he attended high school and graduated. He was a union electrician most of his life working beside his wife on pipe lines in Missouri. Wayne loved the outdoors and in 1976 he and his father bought a farm near Bland, Missouri, where they loved to hunt and fish. After his marriage to Beverly they bought another farm on Wild Cat Road near Bland, Missouri and he built their house and he continued building their house for over 15 years a project that never ended. Beverly gave Wayne the nickname "Frog" which he kept until he passed. Wayne was dyslexic in saying his words at times and laughed after he said a sentence wondering if people could figure out what he said. He was a free spirited person who gave of his love to all around him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Shirley Schmitt Hellon. Mary Alice Stubblefield Mary Alice Stubblefield of Cuba, Missouri was born Friday, April 20, 1934 Crawford County, Missouri to George and Lucille (nee Setzer) Edwards and passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the age of 85 years. Mary Alice married John P. Stubblefield on August 30, 1952. They were happily married for 57 years when John passed away in August of 2009. Mary Alice spent her life taking care of her home and family, but she also worked in the cafeteria at school for several years. Mary Alice believed in always being busy. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cuba, Lunch Bunch and the O.E.S Chapter 398 (Eastern Star). She loved to visit with people and spent hours playing games with the residents at different nursing homes. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lucille Edwards; husband, John; and brother-in-law, Chilton Workman.
