Dovie graduated from Cherryville High School then married Edward Henry Conaway on December 15, 1951 in Steelville, Missouri. She had accepted the Lord and attended Cherryville Baptist Church years ago. Dovie was a homemaker and also used to take in clothes to wash and iron. She enjoyed coloring, working crossword puzzles and word searches. She loved soap operas and watching westerns. She also enjoyed baking and cooking. She was preceded in death by her parents, Santa Hutson and Rose Hutson; husband, Edward Henry Conaway; son, Eddie (Donna) Conaway; sisters, Edith Cornick and Grace Rogers; sister-in-law, Gail Hutson; brothers-in-law, Richard Ogle and Bob Phenix; son-in-law Jerry Ash; and grandson-in-law, Harry Martin III. Dahlberg Jr. was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 6, 1929 to Fred and Florence Dahlberg and passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018 at the age of 88 years. His childhood was spent between Maplewood, Missouri and Excelsior, New Mexico. He graduated from Kirkwood High School Class of 1948. He joined a park development group planting pine trees in the mountains of Idaho. He returned to Missouri and was inducted into the Army where he served as a Corporal in the 45th Infantry Division during the Korean War as a Outpost Observer for the 145th Automatic Weapons Battalion. While in reserve he was an assistant to the legal military courts martial. While in Korea he was awarded the Korean Service Medal with two bronze battle stars, and the Commendation ribbon with Medal Pendant. Upon returning from the Korean War he married (Betty) Elizabeth Ruth Morton. He entered the University of Missouri on the GI Bill and earned a Masters Degree in Renaissance History. Fred joined the teaching staff at Fairview High School where he taught Senior English Literature and served as President of the CTA. In 1961 he accepted the position of World History teacher at Lindbergh High School in St. Louis County and later became Curriculum Co-Ordinator and assistant to the head Principal for the expanding district. In 1986 he left the field of education to become a credit control manager at Cupples products on Hanley Road. Upon retirement he and Betty moved to the family farm in Bland, Missouri. In 1993 Betty passed away. On September 20, 2006 Fred married Rosemary Coplin. They resided in Kensington Park in Rolla, Missouri for the last 12 years of their marriage. Fred's knowledge and love of history gave him many opportunities to address civic clubs on Missouri history, Civil War history, and the Korean War. In 2012 he was honored to receive the Lindbergh Distinguished Educator Award. He also self published two books of essays and a book about the "Forgotten War - Korea." He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Florence Dahlberg; and his wife, Betty. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; daughter, Lizabeth Ann Varwig (Dave); granddaughters, Kristin Wright (Jeff) and Andea Huckabay (Josh); sister, Jeannine Dahlberg; nieces, Heidi Dennis (Dale) and Erika Whitaker; step-son, Mark Coplin (Norma); nine great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Donald Ray Davis Donald Ray Davis of Sullivan, Missouri was born to Frank and Laura (Burns) Davis on Tuesday, November 21, 1944 in St. Clair, Missouri and passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the age of 73 years. Don honorably served his country in the United States Army, during ietnam, from 1964 to 1967. He was awarded the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Parachutist Badge, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, Army Commendation Medal W/v device, Expert Badge (Rifle, M-16, M-14, M-60 Machine Gun) and the Good Conduct Medal. He also attended the Airborne School in 1965. Don retired as a mechanic from Chrysler after 40 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed being the Head Cub Master in Sullivan, Missouri for several years and in his spare time he loved fishing and hunting. Don spent hours collecting aluminum cans on I-44 between Stanton and Sullivan, Missouri so that he had money to help other people. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Laura (Burns) Davis. Alice Marie Ratliff Deese Alice Marie Ratliff Deese of Salem, Missouri was born in Butler, Missouri on October 19, 1957 to Samuel C. and Agnes Brown Ratliff and passed away on July 16, 2018 at the age of 60 years, 8 months and 27 days. She married Mitchell Deese on June 10, 1976 in California. Alice was small in stature but could take care of anything. Alice Deese worked at the Salem Newspaper for 32 years. She loved to read and to ride a bike. She was a very good artist and a very strong person. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Agnes Ratliff. She is survived by her husband, Mitchell Deese of Salem, Missouri; sons, Clayton S. Kenneth Joseph Doza Kenneth Joseph Doza of Sullivan, Missouri was born on April 28, 1965 in St. Louis, Missouri to Joseph and Shirley (Schroeder) Doza and passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the age of 53 years. He was raised in the Bourbon and Leasburg, Missouri area and graduated from Bourbon High School, Class of 1983. He worked in construction for some time and at FedEx. For the last 17 years, Kenny was employed by Franklin County as an equipment operator. On May 4, 2002 he married Sherri Brueseke Webb. Kenny loved people and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Kenny enjoyed deer hunting, Karate and dancing. He also enjoyed hanging out in his garage with his dogs, Poncho and Lefty. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Shirley Doza; and his in-laws, Ray and Naomi Brueseke. Oscar "Paul" McPeters Oscar "Paul" McPeters of Steelville, Missouri was born August 24, 1927 in Huntsville, Alabama to Earnest Berlyn and Juanita Bryd McPeters and passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 at the age of 90 years, 10 months and 19 days. In June of 1948, he married Mildred "Lavern" Weber. Paul worked in construction in St. Louis, Missouri and then was self-employed building houses in the early 1960's and 1970's in Salem and the Viburnum, Missouri areas combining over 40 years in construction. He also spent many hours farming. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Juanita McPeters; wife, Lavern; infant son, Johney Dale McPeters; six brothers, Earl McPeters, Thomas McPeters, James McPeters, Eugene McPeters, Wade McPeters and Clayton McPeters; one sister, Louise Tice; brothers-in-law, George " Bob" Weber and John Weber, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Wilma Mabe. John Russell Weber John Russell Weber of Cuba, Missouri was born to Clyde William and Mary Elizabeth (Russell) Weber on Sunday, May 24, 1942 at Leasburg, Missouri and passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the age of 76 years. John proudly retired from the United States Navy, obtaining the rank of E-6. During his 20 years of active duty, he traveled the world, serving three tours in Vietnam and at numerous other ports. After retiring from the United State Navy, he would later work as a Boiler Tech for University of Missouri-Rolla and retire again after 24 years of service. He was a member of InJoy Christian Fellowship. In his spare time, he could be found repairing Lawn Boy mowers. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing a game of pool and spoiling his two fur babies Sugar and Sassy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde William Weber and Mary Elizabeth Sherril; one brother-in-law, Mick McGuire; and one sister-in-law, Mary Weber.
