Boske Sr. of Ballwin, Missouri, formerly of Cuba, Missouri, passed away on July 18, 2017 at the age of 86 years. He lived many years in Cuba, Missouri and was a janitor at the Cuba School. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Boske; and his daughter, Barbara Tierney and her husband Dave. He is survived by his children, Donald Boske Jr., Mary Moss and husband Larry, Jeanne Bernsen and husband Joe and Joanie Thomas and husband Mark; grandchildren, Jennifer, Danny, Nicole, Dustin, Dylan, Christie, Murphy, and Marshall; seven great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Brown of Sullivan, Missouri was born on June 3, 1929 to Peter A. and Martha H. (Roff) Pontious in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the age of 88 years. Ida was christened at infancy at the Zion Methodist Church in St. Louis, Missouri where she was a member until she married and moved to Sullivan, Missouri. She grew up and graduated from Hadley Technical School in 1946. Ida met Curtiss Brown on June 7, 1947 at the Champion City Dance and they got engaged on February 4, 1949. On March 11, 1949 they were married in Union, Missouri. Ida rededicated her life to Christ on January 15, 1984 and was baptized by Reverend Mullen. Later, she transferred her membership to Missionary Baptist Church in Spring Bluff, where she made her home. After she moved into Sullivan, Missouri she started attending church at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cuba, Missouri and was confirmed April 7, 2012. Ida worked in the surgery and delivery room at the Sullivan Hospital for six years when it first opened. She then worked at Midwest Footwear for 17 1/2 years. She retired and continued to work part-time at the Spring Bluff School for 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtiss Brown; one son, Carl Lee; her parents, Peter and Martha Pontious; five brothers and four sisters. James Black Calvert James Black Calvert was born in St. Louis City, Missouri on August 15, 1921 to Edward Calvert and Margarete (Black) Calvert and passed away on July 17, 2017 at the age of 95 years, 11 months and 2 days. Growing up, James attended Pier Laclede Elementary School in the 1920's. He served our country honorably in the United States Army from 1942 through 1945 during World War II. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his meritorious achievement in connection with m ilitary operations in Germany in 1945. While performing duties of ammunition bearer, Private Calvert crossed the Baar River many times under intense enemy artillery and mortar fire transporting ammunition during a bridge operation. James married Ethel Viola Dickhans on April 9, 1949 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in St. Louis, Missouri and to this union four daughters were born. He worked as a Screw Machine Operator for Wagoner Electric until retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Margarete Calvert; parents-in-law, Edward and Mildred Dickhans; daughter, Linda Cape; son-in-law, Rev. Carol Clark Carol Clark was born to Alice Aemisegger and Arthur Pursley on March 23, 1942 in St. James, Missouri and passed away July 17, 2017 at the age of 75 years. She married Larry Clark on November 26, 1965 and had three children. Carol worked as a teacher's aide before returning to college to teach math. After moving to Texas, she worked as a floral designer, channeling her creative side. In her retirement, she bred show- quality Maltese. Carol was an elder in the Presbyterian Church. Her drive for advocacy inspired her to become a poll worker for local elections. She was an avid gardener and animal-lover. She worked hard to take care of all she knew and was deeply involved in her children and grandchildren's lives. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Pursley; and husband, Larry Clark. She is survived by her mother, Alice Graham of Celina, Texas; sister, Sharon Pursley of Pompono Beach, Florida; brother, John Pursley and wife Jane of Butler, Missouri; son, Keith Clark of Ft. Dapron Paul J. Dapron of Rolla, Missouri was born on February 23, 1932 in St. Louis, Missouri to George and Mary Jane Ramsey Dapron and passed away on July 17, 2017 at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 24 days. He was united in marriage to Bernice E. Hemme on November 15, 1967 in Oklahoma. Paul lost his father when he was eight years old. He grew up in the poor section of East St. Louis before moving to Rolla, Missouri. Paul only had a seventh grade education and he had several jobs through out his life. He got a break when a man showed him how to weld. Then he became a pipefitter welder for over 50 years. Not only did he work as a pipefitter he and his wife opened MidWest Auto Sales and MidWest Auto Salvage in 1975. Paul succeeded and became more successful than most people with several college degrees. Paul's withered hands with calluses tells the story of his life. P aul would help anyone with something that needed fixing whether it be friends, neighbors or strangers. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Jane Dapron; wives, Geraldine Kelly Dapron in 1970 and Bernice Hemme Dapron on May 12, 2006; three sons, Danny, Michael and Jerry Dapron; one brother, Harry Dapron; and one sister, Lehah May Derpon. Janet Haney Delcour Janet Haney Delcour (nee Marsh) was born on Thursday, August 29, 1935 in St. James, Missouri to Jefferson DeWitt and Doris Clarke (Davies) Marsh and passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the age of 81 years, 10 months and 23 days. Janet graduated from Steelville High School in 1954 and went on to receive a Bachelor degree in Home Economics from the University of Missouri Columbia. After graduation from Mizzou, she worked for the University of Missouri Extension Center until she retired in 1995. She married Chester Delcour on September 7, 1958 at the First Baptist Church in Steelville, Missouri and to this union two children were born. They made their home in St. Charles, Missouri until Chester retired. He came back to Steelville, Missouri to build a home for Janet and himself, where they enjoyed many years of living on her family farm. Around the time that they left St. Charles, Missouri and made their home in Steelville, Missouri, she entered into a vibrant, personal relationship with her Lord and Savior. After retirement, Janet served in mission trips to Mexico, cooked for the Meals of Love outreach in Steelville, Missouri and served her faith, family and friends. Her great joy has been the almost daily visits of her great grandsons Jack and Grayson. She has always been the most superb grandmother for Justin, Gabrielle, and Taylor. Catherine Lorraine, known as Peggy, grew up and attended school in Sullivan, Missouri graduating in 1943. Following graduation, she went to work for International Shoe Factory for many years. Catherine devoted her life to caring for her family. She took care of her parents and spoiled her nieces and nephews. Catherine was well known for her baking skills. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Katherine Gaskill; two sisters, Lucille Smith and Betty Nolan; two brothers, Warren Gaskill and Louis (Bud) Gaskill; and one nephew, John Nolan. Irving James "Irv" Hudson Jr. Irving James "Irv" Hudson Jr. of Cuba, Missouri was born on May 17, 1936 in Gloucester, Massachusetts and passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017 at the age of 81 years. Irv married Betty Ruth Frederick on April 1, 1961. Together they shared 52 years of marriage. Irv, also known to his family as Bunky, was the owner and operator of James Electric in Cuba, Missouri for 45 years. He honorably served his country in United States Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed bargain shopping and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was preceded in death by his mother, Isabella Griffith; parents, Arnold and Helen Sproule; wife, Betty Ruth Hudson; and one son, Charles David O'Dell. She spent her time working in her flowerbeds, crocheting and doing crafts. Thelma was a young girl when her family moved to Sullivan, Missouri in 1942. She grew up attending Sullivan school. On August 18, 1952 Thelma married Marvin Miller. They raised their family in Sullivan, Missouri. Marvin went to Korea, while Thelma stayed home with their family. Thelma was kind hearted, a good cook and good at sewing, she loved to watching wrestling and loved her pets. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Miller in 1968; one son, Randy Miller; her parents, Will and Nora I. (Dilks) Witt; one brother, William Witt; and three sisters, Gertrude Finik, Pauline Woods and Frances Houston. She did a lot of canning of vegetables for winter use. She and Raymond were members of the Macedonia Baptist Church for 77 years where they served as custodians for 30 years. Mae was also church clerk for 26 years and led the Tuesday Morning Prayer Group for a few years.
