Elinor Brenton
Elinor Brenton, nee Harrison, of Cuba, Missouri was born on May 7, 1907 at
Bourbon, Missouri to the union of Roy Andrew Harrison and Alice Elizabeth
Campbell Harrison and passed away on July 23, 2004 at the Cuba Manor,
Cuba, Missouri at the age of 97 years, 2 months and 16 days.
On May 26, 1926 Elinor was united in marriage to F.L. Brenton at Union,
Missouri. One son, Don and one daughter, Lillie, were born to this union.
Elinor and F.L. were happily married until he preceded her in death on
December 9, 1985.
Elinor was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, James
Harrison and one sister, Thelma Haug.
Elinor was a long time resident of Crawford County and taught school for
28 years in the Cuba R-II School District. She was a member of the First
Presbyterian Church of Cuba, Missouri, Cuba Embroidery Club, Garden Club
and the Crawford County Republican Club.
Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life are her loving
daughter and son, Lille Scott and Don Brenton and wife Jackie; one
brother, George Harrison; one sister, Fern Hirzy.
Six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four great great
grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends and
students.
Elinor was a devoted wife, loving mother, sister, grandmother, great
grandmother, great great grandmother, good friend to all who knew her and
will be sadly missed.
Elinor Brenton nee Harrison, was in state at the Britton Funeral Home of
Cuba, Missouri where funeral services were held on Monday, July 26, 2004
with Donald Brenton Jr., officiating.
Interment was in the Bourbon Cemetery, Bourbon, Missouri. All arrangements
were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
