Emma Jean Adam
Emma Jean Adam of Daytona Beach, Florida was born May 30, 1942 to Fred and
Emily Isabel (Elms) Williams in Rolla, Missouri and passed away
July 20, 2009, at her home at the age of 67 years.
She married Dale Adam in 1960 and spent the majority of her life as a
homemaker.
She moved to Florida in 1999 and enjoyed bowling, gardening and shopping.
Her gift of a green thumb will be missed by friends and strangers alike.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Emily Williams and four
siblings, Mildred Gore, Fred E. Williams, Bobbie Williams and Kathy Watkins.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Adam; daughter, Judy (Keith) Adabie of
Dallas and two grandchildren, Lauren and Quinten; six siblings, Lina (Willis)
Glenn, of Daytona Beach, Florida; Joyce Cheek of Springfield, Missouri,
Edward (Teresa) Williams of St. James, Missouri, David (Debbie) Williams
of Rolla, Missouri, Mark (Diana) Williams of Rolla, Missouri and Garry (Kim)
Williams of St. James, Missouri; other relatives and friends.

Betty Carol Archer
Betty Carol Archer of Cuba, Missouri, formerly of St. Clair, Missouri was
born in Maywood, California on May 24, 1943 to Dorsie Oliver Bradshaw and
Viola Mae Bradshaw, nee Junkerman, and passed away at her home in Cuba,
Missouri July 18, 2009 at the age of 66 years, 1 month and 24 days.
On April 29, 1961 she was united in marriage to James Keith Archer Sr. and
to this union four children were born.
Betty was a Christian of the Baptist faith and in past years had attended
the Valley Park Chapel in Valley Park, Missouri. She had made caring for
her family her career in life and never tired of her job. She was an avid
reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorsie and Viola Bradshaw; two
brothers, David and Robert Bradshaw; two half brothers, Charles and Doug
Bradshaw.
She is survived by her husband, James Archer Sr. of Cuba, Missouri; three
sons, James K. Archer Jr. and wife Loretta of Salem, Missouri, Randy Lee
Archer of St. Clair, Missouri and Jason Archer and girlfriend, Barbara Riley
of Cuba, Missouri; one daughter, Rebecca Hutson and husband John of Dittmer,
Missouri; one brother, Jerry Bradshaw and fiancée, Andrea Loughridge of
St. James, Missouri; two sisters, Doris May Potter of St. Peters, Missouri
and Norma Varvel of Valley Park, Missouri; sister-in-law, Betty Bradshaw of
Eldon, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, Stacy Pauley, David Medlin, Christa Brown,
Amanda Archer, Chris Archer, Jason Archer Jr., Tyler Dabbs, Alex Archer,
Avery Archer and Zander Hemker; five great grandchildren, Grace Pauley,
Joel Pauley, Cadence Brown, Benjamin Pauley and Preston Brown; other
relatives and friends.
Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Russell Colonial
Funeral Home, St. Clair, Missouri with Pastor Daryl Lynn and Chaplain Lonnie
Webb officiating.
Interment in the Anutt Cemetery, Anutt, Missouri.

Vickie Ellen Bott
Vickie Ellen Bott of Sullivan, Missouri passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2009
at Saint Anthony’s Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 61 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine Neff and husband Jason of Sullivan,
Missouri; her mother, Frances E. Bott of Sullivan, Missouri; brothers and
sister, Robert Bott and wife Rachel of Lewiston, Maine, Lewis Bott and wife
Joanne of Bourbon, Missouri, Karen Bott of Sullivan, Missouri and Dennis Bott
and wife Donna of Sullivan; two grandchildren, Adam and Marissa Neff; other
relatives and many friends.
Visitation was from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Temple
Baptist Church in Sullivan, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2009 from
Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan, Missouri with cremation to follow.
Arrangements under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan,
Missouri.
Mildred D. Disbrow
Mildred “Millie” D. Disbrow of Rolla, Missouri was born Monday, June 24, 1929
at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Willie Mae and Eva (nee Gallahar)
Thurmond and passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Rolla, Missouri.
Millie was united in marriage to Frank Disbrow.
Millie worked at Alvin Optical in St. Louis for several years before moving
to Lonedell, Missouri where she worked at the Hazel Leather Co in Washington,
Missouri.
In 1976 she retired and began traveling all over the United States including
several trips to Hawaii and an ocean cruise.
Millie enjoyed playing cards and playing games with her grandchildren. She
would always watch the Home Shopping Network or QVC looking for the newest
line of jewelry. She spent many hours with her dog “Mystique” or “Easy Dog”
as it was known by some. She enjoyed eating spaghetti and could cook her
famous macaroni and cheese, hot dogs or scrambled eggs and cheese. In her
younger years she enjoyed dancing for hours.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Mae and Eva Thurmond;
husband, Frank Disbrow; daughter, Linda Appa; four brothers, William Clayton
“W.C.,” Richard “Bud,” Carl and Robert “Bob” Thurmond and one infant sister,
Betty Jean Elizabeth Thurmond; other relatives and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Mark and wife Margaret Disbrow of Rolla, Missouri
and Tommy Klepac; four grandchildren, Danita Govea, Mark Jr., Micah and
McKenna Disbrow; great grandson, Joey Govea; sister, Shirley Moentmann of
High Ridge, Missouri and brother, Eddie Boyce of St. Louis, Missouri; other
relatives and friends.
A “Chat and Chew” was held from noon till 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2009
at the First Baptist Church of Leasburg, Leasburg, Missouri.

Bill “B.R.” Hartley
Bill “B.R.” Hartley, of Rolla, Missouri, was born on June 19, 1947, at San
Louis Obispo, California to Clarence Albert and Virginia Verniece (Sharp)
Hartley, and passed away Thursday, July 23, 2009, in the Harry S Truman
Memorial VA Hospital, Columbia, Missouri at the age of 62 years, 1 month
and 4 days.
B.R. was united in marriage on October 8, 1970, in Bisbee, Arizona to
Sherryl Horton and to this union two sons were born.
He was a United States Army veteran, serving his country during the Vietnam
era, retiring at the rank of master sergeant, after 23 years of honorable
service. After his military career, he was employed as a mechanic, for
15 years, with Aaron’s Boats and Motors as well as being owner and operator
of Hartley’s Dirt Worx. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post
No. 2025, Rolla, the Brotherhood of the Third Wheel, Ozark Snag Masters and
the Rolla Moose Lodge and was an avid outdoorsman.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Hartley.
He is survived by his wife, Sherryl Hartley of the home in Rolla, Missouri;
two sons and daughters-in-law, Aaron and Regina Hartley of Rolla, Missouri
and Jon and Errica Hartley of St. James, Missouri; his mother and step
father, Virginia and John Corey of Rolla, Missouri; three grandchildren,
A.J. Hartley, Ally Hartley and Abbigail Hartley; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 6-9 p.m., Monday, July 27, 2009, in the James and Gahr
Mortuary, Rolla, Missouri.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2009, in the James and
Gahr Mortuary, Rolla, Missouri.
Graveside services with full military honors were in the Roach Cemetery,
Doolittle, Missouri.

Dixon, Missouri.
Ruth Carmeletta Giesler
Ruth Carmeletta Giesler of St. James, Missouri, was born October 4, 1924,
at Broadway, Missouri, north of St. James, Missouri, to Perry Columbus and
Laura Mae Parrish Moreland and passed away Saturday July 25, 2009 at the
Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla, Missouri, at the age of 84
years, 9 months and 21 days.
On November 26, 1946 Ruth was united in marriage to Delcie Giesler. He
passed away in 1976.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews,
along with one very special cousin, who was as close as a sister, Genieve
Southard of St. James, Missouri
Visitation was Monday, July 27, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home
in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at the
Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri, with Bob Johnston officiating.
Burial was in the Broadway Memorial Cemetery near St. James, Missouri.

Missouri.
Frances W. Jordan
Frances W. Jordan of Sullivan, Missouri, was born on December 30, 1913 in
Republican, Arkansas to William Edward and Rhoda Margarite (nee Norwood)
Oliver and passed away on Monday, July 20, 2009, at the age of 95 years.
As a child she picked cotton in the fields with her family and during WWII
she was a riveter in an aircraft plant in Wichita, Kansas.
On May 1, 1934, she married the Reverend Royce Earl Jordan. After moving to
Sullivan, Missouri, she was an assistant manager at Carps Department Store.
When it became the Dollar General, she was the first manager of the Sullivan
store. Frances and her husband Royce were charter members of New Testament
Baptist Church in Sullivan, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Rhoda Oliver; her
husband, Reverend Royce Jordan; grandson, Richard Pennock, Jr.; two brothers,
Seth and Winfred Oliver; and three sisters, Freda Winter, Vonda Satterwhite
and Arlene Whorton.
She is survived by a son, Robert E. Jordan and wife Jacqueline of Tempe,
Arizona; daughter, Margie Pennock and husband Richard of Bourbon, Missouri;
grandchildren, Robert L. Jordan and wife Athena of Summerville, South Carolina,
Helen Garigliano and husband Len of Chandler, Arizona, Ronald Jordan and wife
Cathleen of Columbia, Maryland and Marlene Minaeff of St. Charles, Missouri;
four great grandchildren, Courtney, Robert, Mary and Geoffrey Jordan; sister,
Helen Brannon of Queen Creek, Arizona; special friend and caregiver, Paula
Donner; special friends, Sandra and Elbert Kitchen, and Calvin and Joyce
Bandy; other friends and family.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 25, 2009, from 4-8 p.m. at the Chapel
of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2009, at New Testament
Baptist Church in Sullivan with Pastors Charles Idleman and Stanley Briggs
officiating.
Interment followed in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery.
All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan,
Missouri.
Lola V. Luna
Lola V. Luna, of Cuba, Missouri, was born May 28, 1926 in Bixby, Missouri
to Robert and Emma (Faulkner) Wilkins and passed away Sunday, July 19, 2009
in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 83 years.
Lola was united in marriage to Haston Luna on September 22, 1944 and to this
union six children were born. Haston preceded her in death in March of 2007.
Lola was a member of the Democratic Party, Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post #5608
of St. James. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, shopping and spending
time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Wilma Sellers and husband DeWayne of
Steelville, Missouri, Wayne Luna and wife Cheri of Rosati, Missouri, Curt
Luna of Doolittle, Missouri, Alan Luna and wife Marlyn of Independence,
Missouri, Sheree Skaggs and husband Danny of Bourbon, Missouri and Kevin
Luna and wife Lori of St. Peters, Missouri; 16 grandchildren; 22 great
grandchildren, five great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Thursday, July 23, 2009 from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services were Friday, July 24, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the St. James
Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Pastor Stephen Brubaker officiating.
Interment was in the St. James Cemetery.

Missouri.
Donald Leo Pardee
Donald Leo Pardee was born May 9, 1920 in Audubon, Iowa, the son of Earl
Charles and LaMeda (McNary) Pardee and passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at
his home in Rosati, Missouri, at the age of 89 years.
Don was united in the Sacrament of Marriage to Concetta (“Chetty”) Donati on
June 16, 1951. They recently celebrated their 58th anniversary.
Don served in the U.S. Army for six years, including during World War II in
the Pacific theater. Following his honorable discharge, he was employed at
various jobs until working for 30 years as the Skelgas Bottling Plant Manager
in Rosati, Missouri, where he retired in 1983. Since that time he continued
to raise cattle and grow grapes on his farm in Rosati, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and LaMeda Pardee; siblings,
Lavonne Coe; William (“Bill”) Pardee, Mary Colleen Adams and Bernard Pardee.
He is survived by his wife Chetty at the home; sons, Rev. Charles Pardee of
Rosati, Missouri and Mark Pardee and his wife Sharon of Gulfport, Mississippi;
grandchildren, Angela Pardee of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and Anthony Pardee
of Albany, New York; brothers, Robert Pardee of Cleveland, Texas and John
(“Jack”) Pardee of Gouse, Texas.
Visitation was Friday, July 24, 2009 from 5-7 p.m. at the James & Gahr
Mortuary in St. James, Missouri with a Prayer Vigil at 7 p.m.
Funeral service was at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at St. Anthony
Catholic Church in Rosati, Missouri with burial following in St. Anthony
Catholic Cemetery in Rosati, Missouri.
Arrangements under the direction of the James & Gahr Mortuary, St. James,
Missouri.
Truman Reagan
Truman Reagan of Bourbon, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2009,
at the age of 90 years.
He is survived by his wife, Theona of the family home; a son, Truman “Butch”
Reagan and wife Donna; a daughter, Joyce Farrell and husband Bob; four
grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister, Erma Jean; other friends
and relatives.
Services were at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2009, at the Chapel of the
Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with a time of visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
Interment was in the Bourbon Cemetery, Bourbon, Missouri.
All arrangements are under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan,
Missouri.
Wilford A. Slape
Wilford A. “Bill” Slape of Arnold, Missouri formerly of Cuba was born to the
union of the late William S. and Randa Mary (Hobbs) Slape on January 9, 1926
in Washington Park, Illinois and passed away Thursday, July 23, 2009 in
St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 83 years, 6 months and 14 days.
Bill retired from Laclede Gas Company in 1986 after 36 years of dedicated
service. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII from June
1943 to August 1946. He was a member of American Legion Post #522 Cuba,
Missouri and V.F.W. Post #3987 Sullivan, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William S. and Randa Mary (Hobbs)
Slape; two wives, Eva M. (Mauk) Slape and Dorothy (Wahlig) Slape; four
brothers, William L., George, Earl and Kenneth Slape; one sister, Helen
Beshears; one granddaughter, Jenny Jauernig.
He is survived by two sons, Ronald and wife Beverly Slape of Arnold,
Missouri and Don and wife Marilyn Dungan of Pleasant View, Tennessee; one
daughter, Laverne and husband George Jauernig of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri;
seven grandchildren, Stephanie Bledsoe of Charleston, Missouri, Patrick and
Erin Slape of St. Louis, Missouri, George Jauernig of Arnold, Missouri,
Kimberly Smith of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, Christopher and Donnie Dungan of
Pleasant View, Tennessee; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild;
two brothers, Tom Slape of Cuba, Missouri and Troy Slape of Peoria, Illinois;
three sisters, Virginia Jones and Linda Diaz both of Cuba, Missouri and
Geraldine Beshears of Caseyville, Illinois; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Sunday, July 26, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. at Britton Funeral
Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was Monday, July 27, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Britton Funeral
Home with Pastor Paul Lathum, officiating.
Interment in the New Hope Cemetery, Salem, Missouri.

Janette M. Vrana
Janette Marie Vrana, of rural Dixon, was born July 22, 1946, at St. Louis,
Missouri, a daughter of Glen McKendree and Charlotte Marie (Reid) Baker, and
passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009, at her residence at the age of 62 years,
11 months, and 25 days.
Janette was united in marriage on April 26, 1985, at Sharpsburg, Georgia, to
Anthony Michael “Tony” Vrana.
Janette was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna; the Ladies
Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Assembly No. 2811, Westphalia,
the Ladies Auxiliary of the Argyle Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8045,
the Master Gardeners Society, the American Genealogy Society and had taught
RCIA for the Church. She was employed by Civil Service as a chief training
officer for Civilian Personnel for the Department of the Army, Fort Benning,
Georgia, for 34 years prior to her retirement in 2000. During her working
career, she received numerous awards and citations and had been privileged
to attend the Staff Command College, Arlington, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by one son, Elliott Kehoe; one grandson, Kevin
Wilson; and her beloved companion, Ginger, a Jack Russell Terrier.
She is survived by her husband, Tony Vrana, of the home near Dixon, Missouri;
her parents, Glen and Charlotte Baker of Dixon, Missouri; one son and
daughter-in-law, Aaron and Sophia Wilson of Parker, Colorado; two grandsons,
Alex and Zane Wilson of Parker, Colorado; two brothers, Glen Mark Baker of
Melbourne, Australia and Jeffrey Baker of Dixon, Missouri; three sisters and
brothers-in-law, Mary and Dr. Patrick Savage of Jonesboro, Arkansas; Diana,
a Jack Russell Terrier and close companion for 15 years and Chloe, a Rat
Terrier and a new edition to her family.
A Rosary Service was held for Janette at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2009
in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes with Msgr. Marion
Makarewicz leading and a eulogy given by her sister, Karen Vallejo.
The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday,
July 21, 2009, in the Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna, with Msgr. Marion
Makarewicz celebrating. Lector for the Mass was Karen Vallejo and Eucharistic
Ministers were Rita Henderson, Leonard Buschmann and Sister Rose Maria
Birkenfeld. During the Offertory Procession, the Gifts were borne to the
altar by her son, Aaron Wilson and her niece, Alycia Savage Alvarez. The
Visitation Church Choir sang appropriate Catholic hymns for the Mass and was
accompanied by organist, Gloria Brunnert.
Interment was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, in the Holy Cross Cemetery,
Cuba, Missouri under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-
Martin Funeral Homes.
Pallbearers were Stanley Koczur, Paul Koczur, Louis Weinert, John Wolfmeyer,
Bob Nienhaus, and Dr. Patrick Savage.
