Ronald Edward Asher
Ronald Edward Asher of Steelville, Missouri was born February 17, 1940 to
William and Hazel (Worley) Asher. He passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008 at
the age of 68 years.
On December 15, 1962, he was united in marriage to Lindel (White) Asher.
At 12 years old, Ronald professed his faith in Christ in the Baptist faith.
He enjoyed the outdoors by his love of fishing and camping. He was known by
all who knew him as the “Great Aggravator.”
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Johnny and Bill Asher
and one sister, Louise Parrett.
He is survived by his wife, of 45 years; three sons, Rodney Asher and wife
Dena of Republic, Missouri, Roger Asher and wife Rhonda of Coldwater, Michigan
and Russell Asher and wife Jill of Sparta, Missouri; two daughters, Rebecca
Gillam and husband Donald and Tonya Pearce and husband Michael, all of
Steelville, Missouri; 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild; three
brothers; Robert Asher and wife Wanda, Randy Asher and wife Amy, all of
Cherryville, Missouri and Fritz Asher and wife Ann of Okeechobee, Florida;
seven sisters; Bonnie Jones, Judy Dicus and husband Louis, Karen Sites and
husband Rob all of Steelville, Missouri, Wanda McMillen of Silsbee, Texas,
Tina Asher of Springfield, Missouri, Linda Dodd and husband Bill and Cathy
Tucker and husband Brian, all of Cuba, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Britton-
Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Allen Teal officiating.
A musical selection of “Amazing Grace” was sung by a daughter-in-law, Rhonda
Asher and a CD selection of “Go Rest High” was played. Special memories were
shared by a daughter, Rebecca Gillam. Military honors were given by the U.S.
Navy at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of
Steelville, Missouri.
Norma L. Baker
Norma L. Baker of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Earl and Betty
(Surrite) Counts in Iron Mountain, Missouri on January 19, 1939 and passed
away Thursday, July 24, 2008 in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 69 years,
6 months and 5 days.
Norma worked through the years for Cuba Shoe Company, Yogi Bear Park and was
a grocery clerk for Summers Market and Tru-Buy Grocery Store all in Cuba,
Missouri. In her spare time she enjoyed collecting music boxes, cooking,
embroidery work. She was an avid reader and had a great sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant brother and one infant
sister.
She is survived by her son, Randy and wife Rita Baker of Cuba, Missouri; one
grandson, Bruce Andrew Baker of Cuba, Missouri; three brothers, Dale and wife
Sandy, Charles and wife Miriam Counts, all of Ironton, Missouri, Stanley and
wife Diane Counts of Bismarck, Missouri; four sisters, Maxine and husband Bob
Novak of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Jeanette and husband Paul Juergens of
Sullivan, Missouri, Sharon and husband Bruce Maessen of St. Charles, Missouri
and Glena and husband Walter Goodman of Park Hills, Missouri; other relatives
and friends.
Visitation was held Sunday, July 27, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. at Britton Funeral
Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was Monday, July 28, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Britton Funeral Home
with Elder Miriam Counts and Father James Finder, officiating.
Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

Clarita F. Blue
Clarita F. Blue of Bourbon, Missouri was born at Greeley, Colorado to Clarence
and Lois (Wolfinger) McCorkle. She passed away Monday, July 21, 2008 at the age
of 52 years.
Rita, as she was known by her family and friends, was united in marriage to
Larry W. Blue on November 23, 1973.
After their marriage they made their home in Missouri where Rita earned her
degree as a registered nurse.
She was employed at St. John’s Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri and
Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, Missouri. She was also a flight nurse
with Air Evac.
She was an outgoing and likeable person who never knew a stranger. She always
wanted to help people, which was the reason for her working in the health care
field. Above all, she was a dedicated wife and mother and was a devoted
homemaker.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis McCorkle.
She is survived by her husband; children, Tony Blue and wife Angie, Scott Blue
and wife Misty and Trish Martinez and husband Brian; her parents; brothers,
Larry McCorkle and wife Terry and Doug McCorkle and wife Pam; eight
grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Memorial funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2008
from the Sullivan Christian Church with Pastor Jeff Bent officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan,
Missouri.
Arthur Monroe Brown Jr.
Arthur Monroe Brown of Cuba, Missouri formerly of Troy, Illinois was born on
Thursday, May 14, 1942 in Anna, Illinois to the late Arthur Monroe Brown Sr.
and Melva Lorene Rader Brown. He passed away at his home Friday, July 18, 2008,
at the age of 66 years, 2 months, and 4 days.
Arthur married Marjorie “Juanita” Harris on May 16, 1961 in East St. Louis,
Illinois and to this union four children were born.
He accepted the Lord many years ago and attended the Delhi Baptist Church in
Cuba, Missouri. He worked as a car inspector for Union Pacific Railroad in
Illinois before retiring and moving to Cuba, Missouri seven years ago. He was
a member of the Railroad Union and active in the Missouri Campers on Mission.
His hobbies were woodworking, golf, watching sports, and was a St. Louis
Cardinals fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Brown and
Sandy Busiek; and brother-in-law, Stanley Haney.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; children, Stephen (Kerri) Brown of
Richmond, Indiana, David (Muriel) Brown of Cape Cod, Maine, Jamie (Wayne) Estep
of Troy, Illinois, and Susan (Eric) Boyer of Carlyle, Illinois; brothers,
Robert (Mary) Brown of Caseyville, Illinois and Dale Brown of Collinsville,
Illinois; sisters, Grace (Bud) Grider of Fairview Heights, Illinois and
Monene Haney of Florissant, Missouri; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law,
Sam (Judy) Harris of New London, Missouri, Michael (Ruth) Harris of California,
Terry Harris of Troy, Missouri, Shirley (Hugh) Gilbert of Waterloo, Illinois,

Lake View Funeral Home in Fairview Heights, Illinois under the care of Hutson
Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri with Bro. Charles Ledbetter officiating. Musicial
selections by Everett Roiger and Becky Scharfenberg were “Amazing Grace,” “Just
As I Am,” and “How Great Thou Art.”
Those serving as pallbearers were Stephen and David Brown, Jeremiah McAley,
Wayne, Christopher, Michael, and Joshua Estep. Burial in the Lake View Memorial
Gardens, in Fair View Heights, Illinois.

Patrick Henry Daily
Patrick Henry Daily was born Wednesday, June 25, 1913 at Union, Missouri
to the union of William and Clara (nee: Gay) Daily and passed away Monday,
July 21, 2008 at Rolla, Missouri at the age of 95 years and 26 days,
Patrick was united in marriage to Mary Margaret Koester in 1936 at Union,
Missouri and to this union four children were born.
Patrick retired in the mid 1970’s from Great Lake Carbon Corporation in
St. Louis, Missouri after many years of dedicated service.
He was an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church of Cuba, Missouri for
many years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and anything to do with nature. He
knew all the types of birds and kinds trees.
He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan, enjoyed a game of chess or
checkers and was always reading to keep up with the current events of today’s
world. But what he treasured most, was spending time with his family and
friends.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, Jerry Daily;
one brother, Frank Daily; son-in-law, George Hempe; one brother-in-law,
Charlie Clark; other relatives and friends.
He is survived by two daughters, Emily J. Hempe of New Smyrna Beach, Florida
and Carolyn and husband Earl Horsefield of Cuba, Missouri; one son, Stephen
and wife Nancy Daily of Liberty, Missouri; one sister, Elizabeth Clark of
Festus, Missouri; grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grand-
children; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Tuesday, July 22, 2008 from 6-9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer
service at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Holy
Cross Catholic Church of Cuba, Missouri with Father James Finder as celebrant.
Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

Glenn A. Dixon
Glenn A. Dixon of Bourbon, Missouri was born on August 30, 1958 in St. Louis,
Missouri to George Walter and Estelle (Witt) Juergens and passed away Thursday,
July 24, 2008 at the age of 49 years.
He worked for many years in automotive parts as a salesman for O’Reilly
Automotive, NAPA and Goodyear. Glenn was also employed by Randy Nolie Towing
for a time. He was a volunteer at the Sullivan Fire Department.
He married Tinamarie Heise on July 18, 1998 in Leasburg, Missouri at the home
of Don and Lydia Sampson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dennis Juergens; and a
sister, Robin Rene Dixon.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Melissa Lynn Dixon and Crystal
Rose Graddy and husband Derick, all of Sullivan, Missouri; four step
children, Michael Missey and wife Laura, currently stationed in Kuwait,
Lisa Marie Johnson, Kimberly Ann Hopkins and husband Mark, and Steven
Anthony Missey, all of Bourbon, Missouri; brothers, Merle Juergens and wife
Shirley, and Gary Juergens, all of Sullivan, Missouri; sisters, Vicky Wigger
and husband Dick, Linda Darlene Blankenship and husband Sonny, Ethel Mae
Saddoris and husband Raymond, all of Sullivan, Missouri, Sharon Moss of

Helen Louise Lutgen
Helen Louise Lutgen, formlery of Sedalia, Missouri, was born March 16, 1925
in Sweet Springs, Missouri to Emil and Helen (Rugen) Lange and passed away
Monday, July 21, 2008 at the age of 83 years.
She married George Lutgen on December 24, 1944 in Sedalia, Missouri.
She worked in her own home, raising two children and spending time with her
many grandchildren. She was an avid crossword puzzle solver her entire life
and was always ready to give her family a hand in solving their puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Emil Lange Jr. and
Cecil Lange and a sister, Mallie Lange.
She is survived by two children, Deborah Fann and Charles Lutgen, both of
Bourbon, Missouri; brothers, Kenneth and Carl Lange of Sedalia, Missouri;
sister, Ella Mae Sprinkle of Sedalia, Missouri; six grandchildren, Timothy
and Kimberly Cressley, Kari Centunzi, Kelli Hall, Heather Crouch and Paul
Williams; six great granddaughters; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, July 22, 2008 from 4:30-7 p.m. at the Chapel of the
Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri.
Funeral service was Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Sedalia Church
of the Nazarene with interment following in the Crown Hill Cemetery.
Audenia A. McFarland
Audenia A. McFarland of Sullivan, Missouri was born at Leasburg, Missouri to
Joseph and Ivor (Brand) Walls and passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the
age of 87 years.
She was known as a sweet and loving individual who always had a kind word
for everyone. She was fond of visiting people and especially enjoyed her many
friends at Ike’s in Leasburg, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd McFarland and two
sisters, Clarice Barnhart and Geneva Harmon.
She is survived by four sons, Ronald and wife Judy of Sullivan, Missouri,
Stanley Sr. and wife Karen of High Ridge, Missouri, Randall and wife Cynthia
of Sullivan, Missouri and Kenneth McFarland of Affton, Missouri; one sister,
Glenna Ferguson and husband Delmar of Granite City, Illinois; 15 grandchildren;
great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2008 from the
Southside Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri with Pastor
Scott Perry officiating.
Interment in the Lea Cemetery, Leasburg, Missouri.

Allen Lee Rulon
Allen Lee Rulon of Staunton, Illinois was born April 9, 1916 in Dillard,
Missouri, to Robert A. Rulon and Eunice Myrtle Taff Rulon. He passed away
Sunday, July 20, 2008 at the age of 92 years, 3 months and 11 days.
Allen served his country in the Unites States Navy during World War II. He
was a Pearl Harbor survivor and was a member of the VFW. He lived most of his
life in Missouri. He lived most of his life in Missouri, residing in Overland,
Missouri for many years where he worked as a correctional officer. He later
moved to Pilkenton Residential in Cuba, Missouri for short time, then because
of health problems, moved to Staunton, Illinois. He enjoyed visiting with
people, reminiscing about the old days, and traveling around the country in
his motor home with his dog, he called “Friend.”
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law Roberta
and Carl Hausmann.
He is survived by friends and care givers, Don and Evelyn Piazza of Bunker
Hill, Illinois; great nephew, Doug (Heather) Hausmann of Staunton, Illinois;
great niece, Suzanne Bennett of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; and a host of
friends he met along the way.
Visitation was Thursday, July 24, 2008, from 11 a.m. until service time at
1 p.m. at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral Service at 1 p.m. at the Hutson Funeral Chapel in Steelville,
Missouri, with Rev. Delmar B. Hutson officiating.
Burial at the Taff Cemetery in Cook Station, Missouri with full Military
Honors.

Andrew William Ruwwe
Andrew William Ruwwe of Owensville, Missouri was born in Argo on
December 19, 1912, the son of the late Henry Casper and Anna Pauline (Enke)
Ruwwe and passed away on Monday, July 21, 2008 at Frene Valley Healthcare
South in Owensville, Missouri at the age of 95.
On February 11, 1943 in Steelville, Missouri he was united in marriage to
Sadie Mae Rector.
He was a member of the Argo Presbyterian Church, a past member of the American
Legion Post 18, Life Member of Sullivan VFW Post 3987. He was a farmer and
also worked several years at Chevrolet and at Onondaga Cave. He served his
country with the United States Army Air Force during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife; three brothers, Chris, Ben and John
Ruwwe; and sister, Matilda Kleager.
Visitation began at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at the Gottenstroeter
Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 10 a.m. at the
Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri with Pastor Don Kratz
officiating. Burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
David L. Wall Sr.
David L. Wall, Sr. of Bourbon, Missouri passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008
at the age of 69 years.
David was a 14-year employee of Wal-Mart and also owned and operated the
Cavern City Hideout in Stanton, Missouri until 1998 when ill health forced
him to sell the business.
He honorably served his country during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Marines
and was a life member of the Sullivan VFW Post. He loved his family very
much and loved to fish, bowl and work jig saw puzzles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Elizabeth Wall; his
mother-in-law, Betty C. Stroud; brother-in-law, Steven R. Stroud; and
sister-in-law, Iris Stroud.
He is survived by his wife, Janice (nee Stroud); one daughter, Laura West
and husband Greg of Sullivan, Missouri; two sons, David L. Wall, Jr. and
wife Renee and Daniel J. Wall and wife Dana, all of Sullivan, Missouri;
one brother, Berry Wall, of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren, Cassie
and Cole West, Lauren, Alexx and Alaina Wall, Leland, Victoria and Brayden
Wall; two step grandchildren, Alissa and Alec McCormick; sisters-in-law,
Debbe Campbell and husband Ron, Kathy Campbell and husband Ken, Jane Stroud;
brother-in-law, Scott Stroud and wife Kim; father-in-law and mother-in-law,
Ralph and Betty Stroud; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 25, 2008 from
the Southside Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Idleman
officiating. Interment in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis,
Missouri.

Benjamin George Watson Jr.
Benjamin George Watson Jr. of Cuba, Missouri was born on Wednesday,
March 30, 1960 in Rolla, Missouri to Benjamin George Watson Sr. and
Gentilla Henrietta Stein Watson. He passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2008
at his home in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 48 years, 3 months, and 23 days.
Ben was a graduate of Cuba High School and obtained certification in heating
and air conditioning from Rolla Vo-Tech School in 1978. He worked 22 years at
Echo Supply in Cuba, Missouri as a die maker until their closing. He was a
member of the International Association of Machinists Union (IA of M)
District 9, Lodge 41.
He married Cynthia Marie Koepke on July 27, 1996 in Union, Missouri. His
hobbies included hunting, fishing, collecting Indian artifacts, and gardening.
He was a history buff especially in the areas of American Indian culture and
Egyptian pyramids.
Ben accepted the Lord later in life. He and his wife were baptized by
Bro. Jerry Beers. They supported New Life Church, Larry Rice Ministries.
He was preceded in death by his father Benjamin George Watson Sr.; his
mother-in-law, Delores Koepke, and his brother-in-law, Jeff Klein.
He is survived by his wife, of Cuba, Missouri; mother, Gentilla Watson of
Cuba, Missouri; sisters, Sue and husband Don Wynn of Pilot Knob, Missouri,
Gensy and husband Frank Key of St. Petersburg, Florida, Florence and husband
Eddie Klein of Cuba, Missouri, and Theresa and husband Larry Duncan of New
Florence, Missouri; father-in-law, Donald Koepke of Owensville, Missouri;
brothers-in-law, Richard and wife Pam Koepke of Linn, Missouri and Rick and
wife Joyce Koepke of Kokomo, Indiana; sisters-in-law, Debbie Durrow of

Nellie Mildred Worley
Nellie Mildred Worley of Cuba, Missouri was born on Thursday, February 9, 1911
at Dent County, Missouri to the union of Peter Perry Farmer and Myrtle Ann
(nee Short) Farmer and passed away Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Cuba, Missouri
at the age of 97 years, 5 months and 10 days.
Nellie was united in marriage to Rex E. Worley in 1944. They shared many happy
years together preaching the word of the Lord to families in the Hillsboro area,
before they retired and moved to Cuba.
Nellie attended Calvary Assembly of God Church for many years.
She worked at a curtain company operating a sewing machine in younger years. She
also worked at a Nursing Home in Hillsboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; other relatives and friends.
She is survived by daughter, Nadine and husband Bill Maserang of Spring Hill,
Florida; two granddaughters, Debra Diane and husband Wyatt Carr and Pamela Ann
and husband Jerry Brink; four great grandchildren, Ashley and Chad Vancil,
Laura Thompson and Serena DeBergh; two step daughters, Leah Cason and Doris
Pryor both of Cuba, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Tuesday, July 22, 2008 from 10-11 a.m. at Britton Funeral
Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Britton Funeral
Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Interment followed at Boss Cemetery, Boss, Missouri.

Dorothy Elizabeth Zumstein
Dorothy Elizabeth Zumstein of Redmond, Oregon, formerly of Ironton, Missouri
passed away July 16, 2008 at the age of 88 years, 7 months and 11 days.
She was born on December 5, 1919 in Davisville, Missouri, a daughter of the
late Otis and Delila Setzer Coleman.
She was preceded in death by two infant children; one brother, John Coleman;
and three sisters, Helen Earls, Argie Coleman and Margie Randall.
She is survived by a brother, Paul Coleman of Beaufort, Missouri; other
relatives and friends.
She was a graduate of Dillard High School.
Funeral services were held July 24, 2008 from Bryson Funeral Home with Elder
Mark Sutton officiating.
Interment in Arcadia Valley Memorial Park.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Bryson Funeral Home, Ironton,
Missouri.
