Henry Thomas Adams
Henry Thomas Adams was born August 4, 1918 near
Steelville, Missouri, the third child of Phillip Marion and Mille
Neleta (Kimberlin) Adams. He passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2007
at Phelps County Regional Hospital in Rolla, Missouri at the age of
88.
Henry was a life long member of the Steelville
Presbyterian Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was station agent for Burlington and Frisco Railroad for nearly
40 years. He closed the Steelville Depot in 1971 and worked at
several depots and made friends all up and down the line. He was a
member and volunteer for many community organizations and always
ready to do anything he could to help others.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters,
Neola McKay and Neleta Maloney; four brothers-in-law, A.F. “Mac”
McKay, Glenn Comfort, Lewis Comfort and Bob Weber; and one niece,
Janet (Ferrell) Parrett.
Henry is survived by six sisters and brothers-in-law,
Pauline Adams of Steelville Missouri, Ava Comfort of Columbia,
Missouri, Betty and husband Lewis Ferrell of Viburnum, Missouri,
Opal Comfort of O’Fallon, Missouri, Anna and husband Robert Horn of
Delmar, New York, Dorothy Weber of Gray Summit, Missouri and Bryce
Maloney of Salem, Missouri; one brother and sister-in-law, George
and Sharon Adams of Steelville, Missouri.
Six nephews, Ray Comfort, Charles Ferrell, Eddie
Ferrell, Todd Horn, Phil Adams, Mike Adams; 13 nieces, Marian
Roberts, Phyllis Burr, Linda Kendrick, Shirley Comfort, Gale
Teasley, Kim Busche, Lisa Hollander, Rebecca Fleahmann, Leslie
Trosset, Cindy Jackson, Julie Murray, Debbie Juntti and Diana
O’Rourke; 26 great nieces and nephews; 16 great great nieces and
nephews; and many cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 27, 2007 at 11
a.m. at the Steelville Presbyterian Church in Steelville with Rev.
Mary Arnold officiating. Memories of Uncle Henry were given by
Debbie Juntti. Special music of “In the Garden” and “Hymn of
Promise” were sung by Jill McWilliams with Deloris Bell
accompanying. Closing congregational song was “Great is Thy
Faithfulness.”
Serving as casket bearers were Phil Adams, Wally Burr,
Mike Adams, Jesse Marshall, Charles Ferrell and Earl Brand with
committal prayers and burial in the Pleasant Point Cemetery.
Military Funeral Honors were provided by U.S. Navy Funeral Honors
Team.
Arrangements were under the direction of the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, Missouri.
Margaret Anita Collins
Margaret Anita Collins was born on October 28, 1930 in
Kewannee, Missouri to Charles and Ruby (Gentry) Woods. She passed
away on Thursday, July 26, 2007 at her daughter’s home in
Steelville, Missouri at the age of 76.
She was married to Richard Harrington and later to
Howard Collins.
Margaret was a cook on a tugboat in Missouri for many
years. She loved being with her family and looked forward every
evening for a call from one of her daughters. She also enjoyed
cooking, crocheting and crafts in her spare time.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one
granddaughter, Danielle Gray.
She is survived by her three sons, Guy Edward Harrington
and wife Lynn of Caseyville, Illinois, Howard Collins and wife
Cheryl of Fruitland, Missouri and Harold Collins and wife Terry of
Delta, Missouri; three daughters, Darlene Donal and husband Roger of
Steelville, Missouri, Linda Hagenhoff and husband Frank of Jefferson
City, Missouri and Deborah Gray and husband Eddie of Shreveport,
Louisiana.
A brother, Charles Edward Woods of Crump, Missouri;
sister, Ava Louise Johns and husband Jack of Cattawissa, Missouri;
13 grandchildren, Anita Donal, Kenneth Donal and fiancé Tamara
Gwaltney, Clinton Donal, Sue Hager, Edward Harrington and wife
Valerie, Charles Harrington and wife Elizabeth, Patty Harrington,
Deborah Hudson and husband Randal, Kelly Graham and husband Jason,
Shawanna Haggenhoff, Christy Martin and husband Dennis, Alan Collins
and Calyee Collins; 16 great grandchildren, Cierra, Jaden, Zachary,
Tyler, Hanna, McKinzee, Nathanel, Storm, Kyle, Kirsten, Morgan,
Charlie, Edward, Jacob, Kateline and Jordon.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 2
p.m. in the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, Missouri with Rev. Mark
Claunch officiating. Special music of “In the Garden” and “Beulah
Land” was sung by granddaughter Anita Donal.
Serving as casket bearers were Kenneth Donal, Clinton
Donal, Michael Paul Strayhorn, Charles Harrington, Edward Harrington
and Dennis Martin with committal prayers and a song of “Amazing
Grace” by Anita Donal and burial in the Proffer Cemetery in Crump,
Missouri.
Arrangements were under the direction of the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri and the McCombs
Funeral Home of Jackson, Missouri.
Raymond J. Francoeur
Raymond J. Francoeur was born Tuesday, January 1, 1946
in Corbeil Ontario Canada, the son of Romeo Francoeur and Marie
Noela Dugas and passed away July 12, 2007 at the Texas County
Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri at the age of 61 years, 6
months and 11 days.
Raymond married Barbara (Helms) Lantz April 22, 1988 at
the Dent County Courthouse in Salem, Missouri.
Raymond was a long distance truck driver by trade
working for Cannon Express until his health failed forcing him into
early retirement. He was raised Catholic and was a member of the
Sons of American Legion. He loved driving a truck and enjoyed
shopping, watching TV and just tinkering as a handyman around the
house.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of Licking, Missouri; two
children, Robert (Marianna) Francoeur and Lisa Stewart of Kitchen
Ontario Canada; three step children, Marcella Lantz, Josephine Lantz
and Stacy Penn (Georgianna) all of Licking, Missouri; one grandson;
one step grandson; sister, Lucy Desira of Ottawa Ontario Canada;
brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews,
cousins and many friends.
Private burial was held at the Chapman Cemetery in Edgar
Springs, Missouri on Wednesday, July 17, 2007. A private family
service was held Saturday, July 21, 2007 at his home in Licking,
Missouri.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Hutson
Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Glen Ray Hinshaw
Glen Ray Hinshaw of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union
of Clifford A. and Katherine M. (Potter) Hinshaw on May 1, 1937 in
Hindsville, Arkansas and passed away Thursday, July 26, 2007 in St.
Louis, Missouri at the age of 70 years, 2 months and 25 days.
Glen was united marriage to Ruth L. Smith on July 30,
1974 in Miami, Oklahoma.
Glen was a retired truck driver for Trumble Asphalt
Company, Hazelwood, Missouri. He enjoyed traveling, camping, his
many trips to Branson, Missouri, but most of all he enjoyed spending
time with his wife and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother,
Jimmy Hinshaw.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Debbie and
husband Gary Hendricks of St. Louis, Missouri, Sheri and husband
Jerry Redus of Pacific, Missouri; four brothers, Arlis and Olden
Metcalf, Troy Lee and Eugene E. Hinshaw; three sisters, Marcella
Morgan, Mary Ellen Pitchford and Shirley Kimbrell; two
sister-in-laws, Evelyn and husband Wayne Sanders and Elizabeth
“Libby” Priest both of Hazelwood, Missouri; three grandchildren, and
seven great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends.
Graveside service was held Monday, July 30, 2007 at 11
a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery 7800 St. Charles Rock Road, St. Louis,
Missouri with Rev. Gary Hendricks, officiating.
Arrangements were under the Britton Funeral Home of
Cuba, Missouri.
Martha “Sis” McClary
Martha Lillian McClary nee Pennock of Leasburg, Missouri
was born on Tuesday, July 2, 1929 in Bourbon, Missouri to Jesse J.
Pennock and Rosa Jones Pennock. She passed away on Sunday, July 22,
2007 at the age of 78 years and 20 days.
Martha married James "Bunk" McClary on September 26,
1945 in Cuba, Missouri and to this union nine children were born.
Martha accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age, and
attended Calvary Baptist Church, Bourbon, Missouri, then later Cross
Roads Baptist Church, Leasburg, Missouri. She was an extraordinary
woman, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother,
always putting other's needs before hers. She was also a caregiver,
taking care of her father-in-law and mother until they were called
home. She was a multi-talented woman, cooking, sewing, gardening,
playing the guitar, and singing with her family.
She worked outside the home for several years at the
Bourbon Laundry Mat, and Clark's Cleaners in Sullivan, Missouri.
After retirement, she volunteered at the Agape House, Bourbon,
Missouri, until her failing health forced her to stop.
She was preceded in death by her parents;
parents-in-law, Robert and Verda McClary; daughter, Dee West and
son, Mark McClary; granddaughter, Shelly McClary; great
granddaughter, Carmen King; six brothers and wives, Bob and Emma,
Lawrence and Mildred, Lee and Helen, Jesse, Rodger, and Ted Pennock;
two sisters, Nellie Rapplean, Daisy and Wendal Paul; brother-in-law,
Gene McClary and wife Leatha.
She is survived by her husband of the home; children,
Jimmie McClary of Leasburg, Missouri, Brad McClary of Sullivan,
Missouri, Randy (Toni) McClary of Owensville, Missouri, Jay (Rini)
McClary, Donna McLin, Debbie (Ralph) King, all of Leasburg,
Missouri, and Della (Dave) Hodge of Branson, Missouri; sister, Peggy
Reeves of Bourbon, Missouri; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law,
Delores Pennock, Kenneth (Gloria) McClary, Ronnie (Jane) McClary,
and Lorene Carter all of Sullivan, Missouri, Leon McClary of
Springfield, Missouri, Jr. (Patsy) McClary of Bourbon, Missouri and
Mamie (Loren) Gallion of St. Marie, Illinois; 24 grandchildren, 36
great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, July 24, 2007, from 5-8 p.m. at
Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service was Wednesday,
July 25, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Crossroads Baptist Church, Leasburg,
Missouri with Rev. Bobby Higgins officiating. Burial at Bourbon
Cemetery, Bourbon, Missouri with grandchildren as pallbearers.
All arrangements under the direction of Hutson Funeral
Home, Cuba, Missouri.
