Joanna Bouse
Joanna Bouse nee Gruver was born Tuesday, May 11, 1926 in Steelville, Mo.
to the late Fred Gruver, Sr. and Lottie Hanks Gruver and departed this
life Monday, July 28, 2003 at the Gibbs Care Center Nursing Home in
Steelville, Mo. at the age of 77 years, 2 months and 17 days.
Joanna attended Steelville High School and was in the Class of 1944.
Joanna married William H. "Bill" Bouse on October 19, 1946 in Drake, Mo.
and to this union two sons were born.
Joanna worked as a clerk in the Crawford County Collectors office that was
ran by her husband Bill for 36 years; she worked a number of years at the
Greig's Supermarket in Steelville, Mo. and later at the IGA at the same
location. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary; and Town and
Country Extension Club where she served as Treasurer for a number of years.
She enjoyed fishing, bowling, growing flowers, and loved spending time with
her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Joanna accepted the Lord many years ago and attended the First Baptist
Church in Steelville, Mo.
Joanna was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, son Robert "Bob"
Bouse, one brother Fred T. Gruver, Jr.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law
Luther "Lute" Bouse, Eileen "Pug" Weiner and husband Jerry, Richard "Dick"
Bouse, Buster Hewkin, and Arman Ayers, and nephew Jimmy Bouse.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are her loving son Gerald "Nip" Bouse
and wife Terry of Steelville, Mo.; six grandchildren, Jeana Murray and husband
Randy of Rolla, Mo., Jodie Cottrell and husband Lance of Cherryville, Mo.,
Denine Schuster and husband Brad of St. Clair, Mo., Rodney Bouse and wife
Crystal of Steelville, Mo., Randy Bouse and wife Tammy of Eureka, Mo., and
Stacey Collinares and husband Robert of Union, Mo.
Thirteen great grandchildren, Mandy, Myranda, Alex, Ashley, Tori, Ryan,
Brandon, Paige, Blake, Caitlin, MaKayla, Laine, and Trevor James; her
daughter-in-law Glenda Heady and husband Jim.
Her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Hazel Gruver, Chuck Bouse and
friend Connie, Hallie Bouse, Jack Bouse and wife Julie, Ron Bouse and wife
Joyce.Pete Bouse and friend Sharon, Tom Bouse and wife Ruby, Jane Bouse,
Verna Ayers, and Vera Hewkin; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends,
all who will sadly miss and fondly remember Joanna Gruver Bouse.
Visitation was held Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at the Hutson Funeral Home in
Steelville, Mo.
The funeral Service was Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at the Hutson Funeral
Chapel in Steelville, Mo. with Rev. Delmar B. Hutson officiating. Danny
Gruver sang "Church in the Wildwood," and "In The Garden," accompanied by
Carolyn Hawkins on the piano.
Pallbearers were Rodney Bouse, Randy Bouse, Lance Cottrell, Randy Murry,
Brad Schuster, and Danny Gruver. Burial was in the Fairview Baptist Church
in Butts, Mo.
All arrangements under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home in
Steelville, Mo.
Infant Holland Twins
Infant twin sons of Mike and Sara (Nowland) Holland of Cuba, Mo. were
stillborn on Friday, July 18, 2003.
They were preceded in death by great-grandparents Francis and
Betty Nowland. Those who remain to mourn their passing are their parents
Mike and Sara Holland of Cuba, Mo.; sisters Jamie Nicole Holland of St. James,
Mo., and Autumn Marie Holland of Cuba, Mo.; grandmother Kathy Nowland of
Cuba, Mo.; grandparents Frank and Bonita Nowland of Steelville, Mo., and
Thomas Wayne and Elizabeth E. Holland of Bourbon, Mo.; great-grandparents
Doug and Ruth Potratz of Neenah, Washington; nephews, cousins, and many
friends. Graveside services were held on Thursday, July 24, 2003 at 11 a.m.
at Mounts Cemetery with Rev. Spencer Hutson officiating.
Burial was in the Mounts Cemetery, Cuba, Mo. All arrangements under the
direction of Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Mo.
