MO Local Obituaries for the Week of August 10, 2016 James Ervin Beezley James Ervin Beezley was born on April 29, 1928 in Owensville, Missouri to William Earl and Esther (Dillon) Beezley and passed away on July 21, 2016 at the age of 88 years. Jim married Betty Ruth Brown on May 16, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri and spent 68 years together. Jim grew up in St. James, Missouri and enjoyed telling stories of his youth, his family and his friends. He and Betty moved to Phoenix in the early 1980's where they loved travelling the state and visiting historic sites. They lived in Phoenix until the late 1990's when they decided to move back to St. James to be closer to family. Retired and not used to just sitting around, he decided he needed something to keep him busy. He went to the new Lowes in Rolla, Missouri and with his extensive background, they hired him and he worked there until 2012. He is preceded in death by his brother, William Earl who was killed in action in WWII; and his parents, William and Esther Beezley. He is survived by his wife, Betty of St. James, Missouri; three children, Barbara Williams and husband Doug of Phoenix, Arizonia, Tom Beezley and wife Gwena of St. James, Missouri and Sarah Holleran and fiancee Quintin Wallis of Waynesville, Missouri; four grandsons, Josh Reed and wife Laura, Abe Beezley, Nathan Ebersol and Clayton Tower and wife Janee; seven great grandchildren; a host of sisters and brothers-in-law; other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Celia Ann "C. Ann" Britton Celia Ann "C. Ann" Britton of Cuba, Missouri was born August 29, 1936 to Walt and Mildred Mayberry Lee and passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the age of 79 years. C. Ann was united in marriage to John E. Britton on November 2, 1953 at Steelville, Missouri and to this union five children were born. C. Ann worked at the Cuba Shoe Factory in her younger years. What she spent the majority of her life doing was taking care of her children and the home. She enjoyed crocheting afghans, reading Good House Keeping magazines and watching QVC and the Cooking Show. She spent hours and hours going to yard sales looking for items she could add to her collections. She collected most everything but especially Angels. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walt and Mildred Lee; husband, John E. Britton; and one son, Johnny Edward Britton. Buettner of Cuba, Missouri was born May 17, 1972 at Jefferson City, Missouri to Larry and Mary (nee Parrott) Buettner and passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016 at the young age of 44 years. Becca, as she was known by many, graduated in 1989 from the Christian School in Leasburg, Missouri. She worked for five years at Hardee's before going to work in the grocery business. Becca worked for Randy Mace at the original store, Alps and Maces - "her stores" as she called them. Becca worked in the grocery business as a clerk, greeter and the one who smiled at everyone for 22 years. Becca was an active member of the Faith Chapel Assembly Church of Cuba for years. She enjoyed crocheting, coloring and drinking coffee. She attended TOPS for many years and one year was crowned the TOPS queen. She enjoyed trips to the country to go fishing with her daddy. She collected everything; dolls, figurines and stationery. Becca wrote letters to everyone she knew and loved every month. She was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Ann Knight; and grandparents.She is survived by her parents, Pastor Larry and Mary Buettner of the home; one sister, Linda Faye and husband Allen Pitts of Cook Station, Missouri; one brother, Larry and wife Darla Buettner of Steelville, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Richard Floyd Chapman Richard Floyd Chapman of Cuba, Missouri was born in St. Louis, Missouri on Thursday, August 25, 1949 to Noel Adams and Martha Hannah Hopwood Chapman and passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016 at the age of 66 years, 11 months, and 11 days. Richard married Nancy B. Griffin on May 2, 1972 in St. Louis, Missouri and they celebrated 44 years of marriage in May. When in St. Louis, Missouri he had worked for St. Louis Metro and WTC Airfreight as a truck driver. They moved to Cuba 30 years ago and Richard enjoyed being outdoors working on lawnmowers and vehicles. He was a very good mechanic. He also, liked to attend antique car shows. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noel and Martha Chapman; parents-in-law, Violet and William Griffin; sisters, Larene Smith, Rose Marie Chapman and Nancy Swartz; and brother-in-law Fred Gregory. Russell Hiram Davis Russell Hiram Davis of St. James, Missouri was born on September 24, 1931 to Charles Edmund and Mary Christiana Satterfield Davis in High Gate Missouri and passed away on July 27, 2016 at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 3 days. Russell was united in marriage to Patsy Sue Basford on November 21, 1952 in Salem, Arkansas. In his early work years, he worked at the International Shoe Factory and Kingsford Charcoal. He retired from the United States Postal Service after 35 years of service. He, along with Mr. Burton, set up the first local postal routes in St. James, Missouri. He delivered to the businesses while Mr. Burton delivered to the outlying areas. In his later years, he delivered on the rural routes. During inclement weather, he enlisted the help of his family to help put the mail in the boxes while he focused on the driving. He loved talking about the history of High Gate and the community's families. He enjoyed country and bluegrass music and in his younger years, he enjoyed picking his guitar with the locals at the High Gate store. Cars, old and new alike, easily caught his eye; he was always ready to trade the newest mode. He was an avid fisherman and hunter; he spent most of his outdoor time bass fishing and quail hunting. He spent many hours reading and researching about his interests. He served in the Army with the military police in Japan for 18 months. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Davis; one sister, Olive Naramore; and brothers, James, Anderson, Harrison, Chalres, John (Tinker) and Raymond Davis. Louise Elsie Klippel Louise Elsie Klippel was born on March 15, 1917 to Harry and Alvena (Norden) Schallenberg and and passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at the age of 99 years, 4 months and 20 days. After World War II she was married on November 10, 1945 to Fred Klippel from McAlester, Oklahoma and they celebrated 60 years together in 2005. She was part of the Saint Johns Lutheran Church and a member of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed going to bowling tournaments around the United States with her husband Fred. She started bowling in 1979 and retired in 2007 at the age of 90 years after receiving the Missouri State award for winning two single games in the Women Over 70 Division. Louise also enjoyed sewing quilt tops for her family and her friends to enjoy. She was very thankful for the people that loved her and she wanted to close her obituary with these words: "Till we meet again may the Lord bless and Keep you in his care." Dana graduated from Steelville High School and was a member of the Steelville Presbyterian Church. Dana loved music, especially listening to the Statler Brothers and traveling to Branson to attend the country music shows. She looked forward to the holidays and family reunions when she could spend time with her family and friends.
