She was united in marriage to Raymond Russell Bell on December 4, 1933 in Cuba, Missouri and to this union 10 children were born. Essie was a homebody but the world seemed to come to her. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Wyatt; four brothers, Brandsford West, Al West Sr., Elza West and John West; one sister, Mayme Osborn. She is survived by seven sons, John Allen Bell and wife Irene of Collinsville, Illinois, James Howard Bell and wife Virginia of Union, Missouri, Harvey Ray Bell and wife Cheryl of Bourbon, Missouri, William Arthur Bell and wife Ida of Tipton, Indiana, Thomas Eugene Bell and wife Debbie of Brazoria, Texas, Robert Dean Bell and wife Donna of  Bourbon, Missouri and Dr. Donald Richard Bell and wife Peggy of Stanton, Virginia; three daughters, Dixie Lee Krenning of Union, Missouri, Sharon Kay Harrison and husband Robert of Bourbon, Missouri and Carol Jean Wyatt and husband Wayne of Dittmer, Missouri; 23 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Neil Clifford Detjen Neil Clifford Detjen of Ingram, Texas, formerly of Steelville, Missouri, was born July 8, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri to C. Wheeler and Irma (Grounds) Detjen and passed away July 30, 2008 at the VA Hospital in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 78 years and 22 days. He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie, a former teacher in the Steelville schools. He is survived by his brother, Don and wife Sally of Lexington, Kentucky; sisters, Nancy and husband Don of Rockville, Maryland and Sally Owen of Potosi, Missouri; nephew, Jeffrey Owen of Salem, Missouri; other relatives and friends. The body was cremated. “Fran” R. Eickhoff Frances “Fran” R. Eickhoff of Cuba, Missouri was born Saturday, January 26, 1929 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Frank and Mildred (nee Moore) Simeral and passed away Thursday, August 7, 2008 in Oak Grove, Missouri at the age of 79 years, 6 months and 12 days. Fran was the owner/operator of Buzz’s Lounge in Cuba, Missouri for many years. She was a member of the Rt. 66 Association of Missouri and served as president. She enjoyed traveling, taking “lots” of photos, canoeing and watching movies, but what she always enjoyed most was spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Zacher and Virginia Tivlee; other relatives and friends. She was a long-time resident of the Sullivan area and had farmed for 25 years. She later became employed at Paramount Cap Company in Bourbon, Missouri. She was employed for a time at a fish cannery in San Diego, California. She was an avid walker and would walk at the City Hall and around town daily for the last 20 years. She enjoyed hunting and fishing. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Paul Rebura, Johnny Ernie, Calvin, Roy and Elvin Rebura and one sister, Vernie Ruth Rebura. Magnuson John W. “Jack” Magnuson of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of William and Anne L. (Olson) Magnuson on November 25, 1920 in Topeka, Kansas and passed away Saturday, August 9, 2008 at his home at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 15 days. On February 23, 1946 Jack was united marriage to Vera A. Stiegemeyer in St. Louis, Missouri and to this union two children were born. On May 25, 2002 Jack was united in marriage to Anita (Martines) Thomas in Cuba, Missouri. He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of South Carolina. He retired from McDonnell-Douglas as an Electrical Systems Designer after many dedicated years of service. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where over the years he served as an Elder, Treasurer and was on the Church Council. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, crossword puzzles and his computer. But most of all he enjoyed serving the Lord and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vera A. (Stiegemeyer) Magnuson; son, Joel Magnuson and one sister, Elizabeth Magnuson. Lewis was united marriage to Wilma M. Pollock on April 19, 1941 in Owensville, Missouri and to this union six children were born. He farmed all of his life and operated the Lewis Rutz Excavating Company for many years. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Crawford County Farm Bureau (past president) and the Extension Council. Charles Dellian Setzer Charles Dellian Setzer of Cuba, Missouri was born August 8, 1935 to Ray and Freida Marie (Stotler) Setzer in St. Louis, Missouri. He passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at Cuba Manor, Cuba, Missouri at the age of 72 years. Charles was a member of the VFW of Cuba. He loved to play bingo and pinochle. He served in the U.S. Marines and U.S. Air Force during WWII. He loved to talk about skydiving that he did while in the Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers-in-law, Marvin Andrews and Bud Penning and one step son, Woody Dew. On January 13, 1940 she was united in marriage to George A. Sieland in St. Louis, Missouri. She lived a majority of her life in the St. Louis area until moving to Sullivan, Missouri in 1952 and was employed at the former Mid-West Show Company until it closed. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Greg Koppelmann and brother, Joseph (Bud) DeClue. Zambrzuski, formerly of St. Louis, Missouri and recently of Bourbon, Missouri was born July 10, 1923 in St. Louis, Missouri to Andrew and Frances (Midlow) Zambrzuski. He passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at the age of 85 years. He honorably served his country in the US Army during WWII and lived most of his life in St. Louis, Missouri, retiring from both Wagner Electric and Clayton-Davis. After retirement he lived many years in Gambro Garden in Ellisville, Missouri before moving to Bourbon, Missouri in 2002. He had a great sense of humor, loved to tell stories and enjoyed sports, especially golfing and the Cardinals. He was preceded in death by his parents; other relatives and friends.
