Chris James Armistead
Chris James Armistead of St. James passed away Tuesday August 6, 2002. He
was 49 years of age.
Chris was born December 16, 1952, the son of Charles James and Agnes
Rosemary (Kolb) Armistead.
He is survived by his parents; brothers: Charles R. Armistead and his wife
Linda of St. James and Larry Armistead of St. James. Sisters: Barbara
Bryant and husband Michael of Lacoma, Mo., Rosemary Pherigo of St. James
and Mary Beth Pobanz and husband Josh of St. James
Four nieces: Brandy L. Foster, Emmalee and Elizabeth Pobanz of St. James,
Jennifer Bryant, Lacoma, Mo. and three nephews: Michael C. Armistead,
Matthew Pherigo of St. James, Mo. and Jeremiah Bryant of Lecoma, Mo.
Visitation was Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel
in St. James, Mo.
Funeral Service was conducted 11 a.m. Friday at the Jones Funeral Home in
St. James with Father Brendan Lawless officiating. Music: Amazing Grace and
How Great Thou Art vocalist Vincent Giacolone with Estelle Grotha at the
organ. Pallbearers were Lawrence J. Armistead, Charles R. Armistead,
Michael A. Bryant, Michael Armistead, Jeremiah Bryant, and Matthew Pherigo.
Honorary pallbearers were Jim Seddon, John Edgar, Bob Durrett, Matt Karnes,
Scott Rosenow, Dennis Hopwood, and Steve Aikens.
Burial will be in the Stanton Cemetery in Stanton, Mo. Memorials are
suggested to Phelps County Hospice.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St.
James.
Norma B. S. K. Biado
Norma B. S. K. Biado nee Kim was born Friday, July 31, 1925, at Kohala,
Hawaii, a daughter of the late Kwan Sil Kim and Ok Cho Kim (Nee Noh).
She departed this life Thursday, July 25, 2002, at the Missouri Baptist
Medical Center, St. Louis, Mo., at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 24
days.
On May 16, 1946, at Honolulu, Hawaii, Norma was united in marriage to
Vicente B. Biado. Vicente preceded her in death.
She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, Butts, Mo. She was a supporter
of the American Red Cross and worked as a Literacy Volunteer of America.
Among those who remain to mourn her passing are her two devoted daughters,
Joanne B. Sloman and husband Jack of Rolla, Mo. and Christine E. Kaiser and
husband Cecil of Bourbon, Mo.; her loving son, Jeffrey A. Biado and wife Lu
of Beaverton, Oregon; six grandchildren, Jason Biado, Leah Biado and Chase
Biado; Christopher Kaiser, Nathan Kaiser, and Jeffrey Sloman; four
great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Memorial services for Norma B. S. K. Biado (Nee Kim) were held 3 p.m.
Sunday, August 11, 2002, at the Fairview Baptist Church, Butts, Mo. with
Rev. Jim Thomas officiating.
Committal prayers and interment were in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery,
Butts. Arrangements were under the direction of Britton Funeral Home,
Steelville, Mo. Missouri and Valley of the Temple Memorial Park, Kaneohe,
Hawaii.

Louise K. Dillon
Louise K. Dillon, Bourbon, Mo., died July 31, 2002. She was 93 years old.
She was born Mary Louisa Koeberlein on March 10, 1909, on a farm near
Altamont, Illinois. She was the fourth child and second daughter of Frank
(Francis) Koeberlein and Agnes Reiss Koeberlein. They had nine children,
six of whom preceded her in death. Rosaleen Koeberlein Norton and Catherine
Koeberlein, both now of Tolono, Illinois, are Louise's only surviving
siblings.
After Frank died, the family moved into Altamont; and Louise, as well as
most of the other children, attended and graduated from Altamont schools.
Louise graduated from Altamont High School in 1928.
Louise married Maurice Dillon, St. Louis, in 1931. They had six children:
Donald, Agnes, Shirley, Carolyn, Michael, and David. The family bought a
small farm near Bourbon area in 1946. They moved into Bourbon in 1952.
Maurice died in 1969. In 1982, Louise married Carl Mueller, Cuba, Mo.; he
died in 1996. She then changed her name to Louise Koeberlein Dillon.
She continued to live in Bourbon until her death. Louise was a long-time
member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Bourbon.
Louise is survived by children: Donald (and wife Shirley), Bourbon; Agnes
Dillon, Champaign, Illinois; Shirley Dillon (and husband James) Ertl,
Bourbon; Michael (and wife Barbara), Bourbon; David (and wife Gail), Rome,
Georgia. Carolyn Dillon Lockowitz died in 1969. Louise also is survived by
14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 4 step-great-grandchildren, and 3
great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and
friends.
Burial was in St. Clare Cemetery, Altamont.
Joseph Ray Garms
Joseph Ray "Joe" Garms was born Tuesday, July 15, 1958 at Kremblin,
Colorado, a son of Juanita Evelyn (Kitchen) and the late Raymond A. Garms.
He entered into eternal rest Tuesday, August 6, 2002, at his home in
Steelville, Mo., at the age of 44 years and 21 days.
On June 26, 1976, at Steelville, Mo., Joe was united in marriage to Cynthia
Lea Powell. Two daughters, Debbie and Evelyn were born to this union. They
have enjoyed twenty-six years together.
Among those who remain to mourn his passing are his devoted wife, Cindy
Garms of the home; their two daughters, Debbie and husband Ron Moses of
Potosi and Evelyn and husband Russ Reeves of Steelville, Mo.; mother and
step-father, Juanita and Wayne King; step-mother, Ruth Garms all of
Steelville, Mo.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bessie and Michael Deason
of Columbia, Mo.
Two brothers, Ray Garms, Jr. and wife Janet of Shelbyville, Illinois, and
Dan Garms and wife Sondra of Steelville, Mo.; one sister, Laura Marie and
husband Roger Hill of Auxvasse, Mo.; three step-brothers, Wayne Sellers,
Lindell Sellers and wife Kathy, and Winford Sellers and wife Mary, all of
Steelville, Mo.
Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lisa and Eric Westhues, Bob and Doris
Powell of Columbia, Mo., Sarah and Todd Watson and Pete and Barb Powell of
Illinois; two grandsons, Joseph Wayne Moses of Potosi, Mo. and Wesley
Reeves of Steelville, Mo.; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other
relatives and many friends.
Joseph Ray Garms lay in state 4-9 Wednesday, August 7, 2002, at the Britton
Brothers Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 8, 2002, in the Britton
Chapel with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. Rev. Beers also provided musical
selections.
Committal prayers and interment were in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Steelville,
Mo. Serving as pallbearers were Russ Reeves, Ron Moses, Bob Powell, Roger
Hill, Terry Hardester, Ron Stulce, Donnie Garms and Delbert (Bubby) Hall.
Arrangements were under the direction of Britton Funeral Home, Steelville,
Mo.
