Jack Bruner
Jack E. Bruner, formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born on June 24, 1931
to Rev. George Henry Bruner and Leota May Alcorn and passed away on
July 23, 2013 in Cartago, Costa Rica at the age of 82 years.
He started working at age nine, delivering milk and later the
St. Louis Post Dispatch to Cuba residents. He was a cashier at his
father’s grocery store while attending Cuba High School, where he
was a basketball star.
He joined the Navy in 1948 and was stationed in Japan for two years
during the Korean War.
Upon his return to the United States in 1952, he attended Lincoln
College in Lincoln, Illinois. It was there that he met his future
wife, Margarita Rodriguez, a Costa Rican student whom he married in
1953.
After graduating from Lincoln College he enrolled at the University
of Missouri-Columbia. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree
in Horticulture.
He worked for Gerber Baby Food Company in Fremont, Michigan before
moving with his family to Costa Rica to take a job at Lincoln High
School. There he taught biology, math and physical education from
1958 to 1959. He returned to Missouri to work at the Experimental
Fruit Station in Mountain Grove until 1963, when he moved to Costa
Rica again to work at the Linda Vista seed development company. He
went on to run his own vegetable farm in that country.
In 1975 he moved with his family back to Cuba, Missouri, where he
owned greenhouses and grew the best tomatoes to ever grace a plate.
In 1985 he and his wife moved to St. Louis. He worked for the
St. Louis Priory as a groundskeeper until his retirement 10 years
later. It was then that they returned to Costa Rica for the final
18 years of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Leota Bruner;
grandparents, William Bradford Alcorn and Bertha Edgar Alcorn, John
Bruner and Jennie Moose Smith Bruner; brothers, William Bruner and
John Bruner; sisters, Delores Bruner Sego and Loeta Bruner Crews;
nephews, John Paul Bruner and Kevin Young.
He will be missed by his wife, Margarita Rodriguez Bruner; children,
Yvonne Bruner of San Jose, Costa Rica, Teresa Bruner Mugel and
husband Doug of Rolla, Missouri, Mark Bruner of San Jose, Costa
Rica, Keith Bruner and wife Dina of St. James, Missouri, Melania
Bruner of Columbia, Missouri and Tasgola Karla Bruner and husband
Scott Peacocke of Atlanta, Georgia; siblings, Deanna Bruner Youngman
and husband Luke of Columbia, Missouri and Ronald Bruner of
St. Robert, Missouri; grandchildren, Chavaleh “Chava” Bruner Coots
and husband Sam, Nastassia “Tasha” Bruner Martin and husband Matthew,
Erik Bruner, Paula Bruner, Hannah Mugel and Daniela Bruner; great
granddaughters, Olivia and Avabelle Coots; friends and parishioners
of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cuba, where he was a member
for 10 years; other relatives and friends.
A Bruner family reunion in honor of Jack Bruner will be held on
September 14, 2013 in Rolla, Missouri at 1872 Longview Lane. RSVP at

Roseann Eaton
Roseann Eaton, nee Green, of Cherryville, Missouri was born
May 16, 1924 in Davisville, Missouri to Charles Hershel and Myrtle
Leora Harris Green and passed away on Monday, August 5, 2013 at the
age of 89 years, 2 months and 20 days.
On May 9, 1942 in Steelville, Missouri, Roseann was united in
marriage to Duel Esco Eaton.Roseann was a dedicated and hard working
wife and mother who loved to cook for her family and friends. She
spent many hours canning, making jelly, cooking pan fried chicken and
baking good apple pies. She was a member of the Davisville Assembly
of God Church and was also known as a witness for the Lord whether
it was family, friends or acquaintances.
She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Gregory and husband
Lathan and Fern Setzer and husband Jerry all of Cherryville,
Missouri; three grandchildren, Chris Richardson and wife Tamara of
Granite City, Illinois, Angie Martin and friend, Kelly Edgar of
Cherryville, Missouri and Joey Richardson and wife Jenna of
St. James, Missouri; nine great grandchildren, Adrienne and husband
Trey, James and friend, Schreon, Andrea and husband Andrew, Allison,
Anderson, Madison, Connor, Ainslee and Adalee; and one great great
granddaughter, Leahanna; three sisters-in-law, Judy Green of Cuba,
Missouri, Betty Green of Davisville, Missouri and Sylvia Green of
Jefferson City, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Myrtle Green;
her husband, Duel in 1983; infant daughter, Marjorie Marie Eaton;
three brothers, Cordell Green, Corbett Green and Glen Green and
wife Jess; and two sisters, Delpha Brown and husband Harry and
Virginia Brown and husband Howard.
Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at
the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at
the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with
Rev. Harrison Brown and Rev. Bob Coleman officiating. Special music
of “One Day at a Time,” “In the Sweet Bye and Bye” and a medley of
songs was sung by Bob and Carol Coleman.
Committal prayer and interment were in the Davisville Cemetery at
Davisville, Missouri.
Casket bearers were Dwight Brown, Stanley Eaton, Anderson Richardson,
Roger Green, Sonny Eaton and James Martin.

Deborah Sue Green
Deborah Sue Green of St. James, Missouri, formerly of Sedalia,
Missouri, was born October 11, 1944 in Pittsburg, Kansas to Buford L.
and Freda V. (Hutcheson) Clark and passed away Friday, August 9, 2013
at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Missouri at
the age of 68 years, 9 months and 29 days.
On September 24, 1974 in Independence, Missouri she was united in
marriage to Orville Dean Green.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Buford and Freda Clark;
husband, Orville on July 2, 1998; and sister, Brenda Ashmore and her
husband David.
She is survived by her sisters, Rebecca Brubaker and husband Stephen
of St. James, Missouri and Donna Sumler and husband Cappy of
California, Missouri; nephews, Lester Lee Ashmore, Benjamin Raymond
Brubaker and wife Ellie and Caleb Andrew Brubaker; nieces, Denise
Lynn Blankenship and husband Jon, and Kimberly Marie Huskey and
husband Christian; great nieces and nephews, Michael Saldana, Daniel
Saldana, Skyler Ashmore and Mackenzia Ashmore and great great nieces,
Alyanna Marie Saldana and Dartanyton Allen Williams; other relatives
and friends.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday August 13, 2013 at the J
ones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.

at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri with Jerry Baumann
officiating.
Burial was at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at the Inman
Memorial Cemetery near Cold Camp, Missouri.

Heath Barkley Hudson
Heath Barkley Hudson was born July 11, 1967 in Rolla, Missouri and
passed away July 29, 2013 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 46 years.
Barkley enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping, hunting and fishing.
He attended Freewill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Janice Michaelene Summers
and grandfather, Leo Hudson.
He is survived by his children, Dillon Hudson of Rolla, Missouri and
Jana Hudson of Newburg, Missouri; father, Joe Hudson and wife Barbara
of St. James, Missouri; grandmother, Anna Hudson of Lecoma, Missouri;
step father, Jerry Summers of Salem, Missouri; brothers, Ben Hudson
of Salem, Missouri, Brad Hudson and wife Renea of Lecoma, Missouri;
sisters, Monica Hewkin and husband Danny of Cuba, Missouri, Cody
Callahan of Liberty, Missouri, Shelia Hall and husband A.J. of Salt
Lake City, Utah and Janet (Summers) Koerner; other relatives and

Graveside service was held Monday, August 5, 2013, at the Mt. Hermon
Cemetery with Bro. Charlie Younger officiating.
Interment was in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery.

Mary Ann (Valle) Keeney
Mary Ann (Valle) Keeney of Raleigh and Pine Knoll Shores, North
Carolina was born in Bonne Terre, Missouri, to Marvin W. and
Lilith E. (Monroe) Valle and passed away Monday, August 5, 2013
at the age of 71 years.
She married Ronald E. Keeney, September 1, 1962 in Bourbon,
Missouri and they had three daughters.
The Keeneys moved to Raleigh in 1977 after living in Missouri,
Texas, Michigan and Illinois.
Mary Ann felt most at peace when basking in the allure and charm of
the North Carolina coast. Her strength, her acceptance of us for
who we are, her straightforward manner and approachability made her
a unique individual to each person she knew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Lilith Valle;
her great grandson; niece, Laura Anne Crist; aunt and uncles,
Lucille and Charles Bennett and Delbert Valle; and brother-in-law,
Neil Keeney.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald E. Keeney, M.D.; daughters
and sons-in-law, Susie (Rommel) K. Edwards, Karen L. (J. Cesar)
Agama and Kristen L. (Julio C.) Hernandez; six grandchildren; five
great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Helen V. and
William Crist, M.D. of Chesterfield, Missouri and Salter Path, NC;
aunt, Mary Jo Valle of Madison, Tennessee; brother-in-law, Jerry

James Richard Kersey
James Richard Kersey of Ashburn, Georgia, formerly of Cuba, Missouri,
was born to Taylor P. and Mabel E. (Heseman) Kersey on
October 24, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away Friday,
August 9, 2013 at Heritage Health Care in Ashburn, Georgia at the
age of 75 years.
James was disabled, but enjoyed life, a cup of coffee and a smoke.
In his younger years he enjoyed playing the piano.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Taylor and Mabel Heseman.
Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy
are his cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 9:30-10:30 a.m. at
the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri.
Graveside service and interment was held on Tuesday, August 13, 2013
at 11 a.m. at the Lick Creek Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri with Rev. Ben
McDaniel officiating.

Robert Allan “Bob” Klatt
Robert Allan “Bob” Klatt of Cuba, Missouri was born to August and
Lucille (Zesch) Klatt on November 2, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri and
passed away at the Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, Missouri at
the age of 70 years.
Bob retired after 35 years of dedicated service to the City of
St. Louis as an Engineer Technician Supervisor and was a member of
the First Baptist Church of Bourbon, Missouri. He enjoyed living at
Indian Hills Lake, fishing, hunting, raising Beagle dogs and spending
time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Lucille Klatt.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda (Robinson) Klatt of Cuba, Missouri;
daughter, Kimberly Klatt and husband James Schulte of Potsdam,
New York; step-son, Scott O’Brien of Florissant, Missouri; two grand-
children, Alexander Owen and Ava Bryn Schulte; sister, Lynda and
husband Don Weingart of Cuba, Missouri; mother-in-law, Ruby Robinson
of Florissant, Missouri; sister-in-law, Becky Burgess of Florissant,
Missouri; brother-in-law, David and wife Pam Robinson of Memphis,
Tennessee; nephews and nieces, Scott and wife Marge Weingart of
St. Louis, Missouri, Kristine and husband Larry Bridges of House

the First Baptist Church in Bourbon, Missouri with Pastor Ted
Hurley, officiating.
Interment followed at the Bourbon Cemetery Bourbon, Missouri.

Genevieve Angeline Scott
Genevieve Angeline Scott, nee Watson, was born March 1, 1926 in
Shawneetown, Gallatin County, Illinois and passed away Sunday,
August 4, 2013 at the age of 87 years, 5 months and 3 days.
Genevieve was united in marriage to Elmer D. Scott on
October 25, 1941 in Rolla, Missouri and to this union six
children were born.
Elmer and Genevieve lived on Peaceful Bend Farm for 28 years
where she raised her family. She went to work at Brown Shoe Co.
and worked there for 29 years where she served as President of
the Local Union for many years. Genevieve loved to paint and
displayed some of her paintings in various art shows in Herman,
Missouri, the county fair and more recently Gibbs Care Center.
She also loved to crochet and quilt. She will be remembered for
her many beautiful rocks she loved to collect and bring home
to display in her yard as well as all the flowers she planted
over the years. She and Elmer traveled many states before he
passed.
She accepted Jesus as her Savior and was baptized and was a
member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she worked
in the Sunday school department for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer in 2004;
parents, Willis and Dessie (nee Drake) Watson; one infant
son, Stephen, one grandson; two brothers; one younger sister;
and son-in-law, Gary Plank.
She is survived by her sons, David Whittaker of Hannibal,
Missouri, James Scott and wife Sandra of Steelville, Missouri,
Charles Scott and special friend Patricia and John Scott and
wife Uda, all of Dixon, Missouri; daughters, Mary Norris and
husband Marvin of St. James, Missouri and Linda Plank of Salem,
Missouri; 19 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; 25 great
grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; other relatives
and friends.
Visitation was from 10 a.m. until the time of service on
Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home
in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at noon on Thursday, August 8, 2013
at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri
with Rev. Alan Miles officiating. Special music of “In the
Garden” and “Softly and Tenderly” was played.
Committal prayer and interment were in the Hibler Cemetery in
Steelville, Missouri.
Casket bearers were Tony Plank, James Englehart, Ethan Englehart,
Steven Plank, Craig Brown and Devon Brown.

Dr William Norman Tierney
Dr. William Norman Tierney of Sullivan, Missouri was born
July 29, 1929 in Grubville, Missouri to Wallace D. and Mae
Gertrude (Wilson) Tierney and passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013
at the Life Care Center of Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 84 years.
He and Mary (Beach) Tierney were married January 9, 1955 in
Vincennes, Indiana.
Norm or Doc, as people knew him, attended Westminster University
and graduated Dental School from Washington University in
St. Louis, Missouri in 1956. After school he served in the
United States Air Force at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio
for two years.
He and Mary moved to Sullivan, Missouri where he opened his
dental practice. He operated as a dentist in Sullivan for 50 plus
years.
Norm was an avid hunter, enjoying turkey, deer and big game
hunting as well as fish gigging. He loved being outdoors from
being a boy on the farm to feeding deer in the woods along South
Mansion St. He was a member of several hunting clubs and the
NRA. He was a charter member of the Kiwanis Club in Sullivan, a
Mason for 50 years and a 50-year member of the National Dental
Association serving as President of the St. Louis Dental
Association Southwest. He also served two terms on the Sullivan
School Board and he was a member of the Church of God at Morse
Mill, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Mae Tierney;
and a brother, Ward.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of the home; two daughters,
Janice Baniak and husband Raymond and Ellen Roberts and husband
James, both of St. Charles, Missouri; a sister, Florene Thal of
Atlanta, Georgia; six grandchildren, Dana and Lisa Boniak, Greg
and Brett Reinhardt, Adam and McKenna Roberts; other relatives
and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 8, 2013 from 4-8 p.m.
at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2013 at
the funeral home with Pastor Craig Wagner officiating.
Burial was at the Church of God Cemetery in Morse Mill,
Missouri.
Arrangements under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home,
Sullivan, Missouri.
