MO Local Obituaries for the Week of August 15, 2018 Clarinda Agness Biggs Clarinda Agness Biggs (nee Price) of Steelville, Missouri was born Monday, June 23, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri to Esli and Hala Price and passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the age of 88 years, 1 month and 12 days. In March of 1950 she married James Orin Biggs. Clarinda was employed for John Swift, a printing company, for 40 years. She attended Victory Baptist Church in Cherryville, Missouri. She always enjoyed crocheting and donated over 500 afghans which she made to cancer patients for use during their infusions. She was preceded in death by her parents, Esli and Hala Price; husband, Orin Biggs; great grandchildren, Kadyn Clancy and Madilynn Kelley; son-in-law, C.W. Hart; brother, Donald Price; sisters, Vernice Richardson and husband Bill and Diane Eaton and husband Norris; brother-in-law, Gail Biggs; and sisters-in-law, Lorene Butts and husband Vondel and infant Margerite Biggs. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Pastor Roger Silvey officiating. Special music of "The Lighthouse" and "Celebrate Home" was played. Committal prayer and interment were in the Stone Hill Cemetery, Salem, Missouri. Steve Raymond Blankenship Steve Raymond Blankenship of Sullivan, Missouri was born on August 18, 1957 in Rolla, Missouri to William "Bill" and Patsy (Record) Blankenship and passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at the age of 60 years. He attended Holy Martyrs Catholic Grade School and Sullivan High School, Class of 1975. He became a journeyman carpenter through the Union Carpenters apprentice program and was employed for 41 years in the construction industry. He was employed by McBride and Sons and later with his son, Ryan and CCS (Cheltenham Construction). Steve married Pauline Harmon on July 3, 1982. Steve was described as the Ultimate Coach; coaching his own children and many Strain Japan and Spring Bluff teams. He also refereed for youth basketball. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and family trips abroad with Pauline. Steve was a diehard Cardinals fan and attended spring training when possible. He loved taking the grandkids to Cardinal games and events and loved to harass his favorite Cubby Fan, Tricia. Steve was a member of Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Sullivan, Missouri and Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Blankenship; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law. Charlotte Coyth Hendrix Charlotte Coyth Hendrix (nee Woolly) of Steelville, Missouri was born November 22, 1926 in Denver, Colorado to Charles and Nellie Sherman Woolly and passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the age of 91 years, 8 months and 11 days. In 1943 Charlotte married James "Jim" Hendrix. Charlotte was raised in the Assembly of God Church and was an ordained minister of many years who loved to share God's love. Her father was also a minister, so she followed in his footsteps. One of Charlotte's last employment was working in the Community Christian Academy in Steelville, Missouri. For several years, Charlotte taught a Bible study in her home. Charlotte enjoyed working with crafts and being outside. She loved listening to gospel music, hearing the word of God preached and visits from her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Nellie Woolly; her husband, Jim Hendrix in 1989; sisters-in-law, Juanita Pennock, Dorothy Harmon and Linda Hendrix; and brothers-in-law, Zane Pennock and Bill Hendrix. She is survived by her son, James Edward Hendrix of Georgia; four grandchildren, Tina, Rebecca, Mitchell and Hope; two great grand- children, Andria and Stephen; brother-in-law, Ben Pennock of Steelville, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Glenda Hendrix of Farmington, Missouri and Carmeleet Pennock of Eldon, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Myra Alicia Henry Myra Alicia Henry of Cuba, Missouri was born Wednesday, November 16, 1927 to Ralph J. Henry, Sr. and Alice M. (nee Sturges) Henry in Chicago, Illinois and passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the age of 90 years. Myra's early childhood was spent living in Chicago, Illinois and in rural southwest Missouri. In October 1934 the family moved from Chicago to Cuba, Missouri seven miles northwest of Jakes Prairie Road. Myra attended both one room country schools and Holy Cross School, graduating from Holy Cross on May 18, 1941. Myra next located to Notre Dame High School and College Campus in south St. Louis county, studying under the direction of the School Sisters of Notre Dame. From 1947 through 1955 Myra Henry taught for the School Sister of Notre Dame in Their Catholic schools in Illinois, Missouri, California and Texas. For health reasons, Myra dropped out of teaching in August 1955 and located in the east, working in business offices in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, until returning to Missouri in 1958. Myra's employment varied from working in a commercial art department to the Business Office of Washington University and back to teaching in elementary classrooms, until it became mandatory to have a degree to teach. Myra put herself through the last year of college at University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri. Funded by scholarship, loans and serving as House Mother for 33 young women while studying, she attained a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education, June 4, 1963. She taught from 1963 through 1970 in Missouri schools, including five years at Crawford County R-II, Cuba, and from 1970 through 1984 in schools in Illinois. Myra taught her final year, full time, in 1984-1985, St. Louis, Missouri. With increasing arthritic problems, she worked part-time in government offices in downtown St. Louis, earning recognition there. Since returning home to Cuba, in 1991, Myra has done volunteer work as an officer of the Holy Cross Altar Society, Crawford County Historical Society, Cuba Senior Center as secretary of the board of Directors for 10 years, compiling the Monthly Newsletter for 10 years and as a substitute teacher, both at Crawford County R-II and Holy Cross Elementary Schools. Disabled in 2000 through 2004 Myra became active again by accepting a part-time clerical position with the Crawford County Chapter of the American Red Cross via the Experience Works Program. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Alice Henry; brothers, Ralph and Howard Henry; and sisters,Valear Henry Malnassy, Betty Henry Warner, Dorothy Henry Feldon and Ramona Francis Bigham. She is survived by her sister, Carol A. Breslich of Cuba, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Graveside services at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the M eramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba with Deacon Earl Horsefield officiating. Thomas Franklin Judd Thomas Franklin Judd was born November 26, 1946 in Salem, Missouri to Grover Oliver and Marie (Statler) Judd and passed away August 3, 2018 at the age of 71 years. Thomas Judd honorably served in the United States Army. He enjoyed feeding squirrels and loved to grill. Thomas was baptized and attended Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Marie Judd; brother, Grover Judd; sisters, Peggy Schafer and Judith Curtis; and mother of his children, Kathryn Judd. Michael Allen McCormick Michael Allen McCormick of Rolla, Missouri was born on April 3, 1964 in St. Charles, Missouri to Harry Edward LeRoy and Bessie Marie (Mayberry) McCormick and passed away Monday, July 30, 2018 at the age of 54 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Bessie McCormick; his wife, Laura McCormick; and two sisters, Joyce Miller and Cindy McCormick.
