Bobby Gene Livesay
Bobby Gene Livesay of Steelville, Mo., was born Thursday, October 23, 1938
at Keysville, Mo. A son of the late William Ralph Livesay and Florentine
(Riesner) Livesay and passed away Friday, August 4, 2000, at St. John's
Mercy Medical Center, Washington, Mo., at the age of 63 years, 9 months and
11 days.
On February 22, 1957, at St. Louis, Mo., Bobby was united in marriage to
Alice McLawhorn and to this union three sons and two daughters were born.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by an infant son,
Timmy.
He served his country four years in the United States Navy, receiving an
Honorable Discharge January 10, 1962.
Bobby was united in marriage to Evelyn Wilkinson, daughter of the late
Norris and Glyde Wilkinson, April 2, 1970, at St. Louis, Mo. They have
enjoyed over thirty years together. In 1996, he retired from a lifelong
career as a truck driver for Complete Auto.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his devoted wife Evelyn of the
home; two sons, Richard Livesay and wife Terri of Charleston, South
Carolina, Mike Livesay and wife Cheri of Steelville, Mo.; two daughters,
Teresa and husband Wesley Alford of Charleston, South Carolina, Donna and
husband Mark Havard of Cuba, Mo.
Ten grandchildren, Reanna and Tayler Livesay, Randi, Dustin, Kasey, and
McKenzie Livesay, Jessica, Allison and Lacey Alford, and Jennifer Havard;
one sister, Jackie and husband Harold Smith of Steelville, Mo.; one
brother, Jerry Livesay and wife Charlotte of Cuba, Mo.
Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Laverne and Sharon Wilkinson of Texas,
David and Fern Wilkinson of Steelville, Mo., and Linda White of Washington,
Mo.; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Bobby Gene Livesay lay in state 6:00 - 9:00 p.m., Sunday, August 6, 2000,
at the Britton Brothers Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo. Funeral services were
held 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 7, 2000, in the Britton Chapel with Rev.
David Cartee officiating.
Committal prayers and interment were in Steelville Cemetery, Steelville,
Mo. Pallbearers were Lydie Davis, Ron Green, Mark Guggenburger, Jack
Harman, Terry Voyles, David Wilkinson, Paul Wilkinson and Tom Wynn.

Elsie Regina Halbert
Elsie Regina Halbert (nee Belden) of St. Louis, Mo., formerly of
Steelville, Mo., daughter of the late Charles Birdell and Anna (Heppermann)
Belden, died Tuesday, August 8, 2000, at Southpointe Hospital, in St.
Louis, Mo.
On June 11, 1940, at Cuba, Mo., Elsie was united in marriage to Thomas S.
Halbert and to this union one daughter was born. Together they founded
Halbert Funeral Home of Steelville, Mo. They enjoyed over forty-seven years
together before his death, January 19, 1988.
In addition to her parents, and husband Tom, Elsie was preceded in death by
her brother Birdel Belden, her sister, Cecilia Blinne, Gladys Belden, and
sister-in-law Effie Lee Robinson.
Among those who remain to mourn her passing are her daughter Theresa
"Terrie" Jane Halbert of St. Louis, Mo.; and her nephews Thomas LaPlant and
wife Mary of Steelville, Mo., Bill LaPlant and wife Geneva of St. Louis,
Mo., and Charles Blinne and wife Pat of Tyler, Texas; other relatives and
many friends.
Elsie Regina Halbert (nee Belden) lay in state 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Friday, August 11, 2000 at the Britton Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo.
Funeral services with Requiem Mass were held 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 11,
2000 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Cuba, Mo., with Father Bob Duesdieker
officiating.
Committal prayers and interment were in Steelville Cemetery, Steelville,
Mo. Pallbearers were Michael LaPlant, William LaPlant, Charles Blinne, Brad
Harmon, Steve Eads and John Britton.
Arrangements were under the direction of Britton Funeral Home, Steelville,
Mo.
Emma Viola Davis
Emma Viola Davis (nee Burke) was born Saturday, September 22, 1908, in
Steelville, Mo., a daughter of the late John Camilus Burke and Martha
Elizabeth Burke (nee Butt). She entered eternal rest Thursday, August 10,
2000, at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Granite City, Illinois, at the
age of 93 years, 10 months and 19 days.
On March 21, 1926, in Steelville, Mo. Rev. Sam Roper united Emma in
marriage to Frank B. Davis. One son and one daughter were born to this
union. They enjoyed sixty-six years together before his death on December
15, 1992.
Emma was a member of the Steelville Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents and her husband Frank, Emma was preceded in
death by her son-in-law, Odell Milton; seven brothers, Oscar, Walter,
Irving, Henry, Roland, John and Clarence Burke, and five sisters, Florence,
Esther, and Evelyn Burke, Ruth Ann and husband Robert Land, Flora and
husband Tillman "Tim" Wright.
Among those who remain to mourn her passing are her devoted daughter
Dolores Milton of Granite City, Illinois; a loving son Gerald L. Davis and
wife Ann of Ormand Beach, Florida; nieces, nephews, cousins, other
relatives and friends.
Emma Viola Davis lay in state after 5:00 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2000, at
the Britton Brothers Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo.
Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 12, 2000, in the
Britton Chapel with Rev. Jerry Douglas officiating. Musical selections were
provided by Deloris Bell.
Committal prayers and interment were in Steelville, Mo. Serving as
pallbearers were Gary Hudson, Alan Milton, David Milton, Paul Milton,
Robert Rhodes and Mike Seifert.
Arrangements under the direction of Britton Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo.
Lynwood McCoy Smith
Lynwood McCoy Smith, age 78, St. Louis, passed away August 3, 2000.
He was the beloved father of Karen Lynne and husband Donald Bolinger,
Ronald Kent Smith, Carlton Grant Smith (Hannah King), dear grandfather of
Ryan D., Rachel D. and Ross D. Bolinger and dear brother of Beulah Francis.
Visitation was Monday, August 7 from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. with the funeral
service immediately following at Church of the Reformation-Lutheran in the
Oak Grove Chapel.
Mr. Smith was a poet and his poetry appeared on a weekly basis under the
by-line of L. M. Cooper-Smith in this newspaper.
