Charlyne married Russell Fields and to this union four children were born. She worked in the cafeteria for Brown Shoe Company in St. Louis, Missouri for several years and later was a Raleigh dealer in the area. She was a member of the Rolla Freewill Baptist Church and had earlier done volunteer work at local nursing homes. She was a loving mother and an excellent cook. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Hattie Smith; husbands; brothers, Elmer (Romagene) Smith and Donald Smith. Kendal Madison Brewer Kendal Madison Brewer of Cuba, Missouri was born Monday, December 18, 1939 at Logan, West Virginia to Carl and Elizabeth (nee Goodson) Brewer and passed away Monday, August 09, 2010 at St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 70 years, 7 months and 22 days. Kendal was united in marriage to Jean Ann Weber on June 18, 1967 at Marine, Illinois and two this union two daughters were born. Kendal retired from the United States Army in 1979 after 22 years of dedicated service. He retired once again in 1996 from Olin Brass as a crane operator. In his spare time he enjoyed traveling, hunting and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Elizabeth Brewer; wife, Jean Ann Brewer; four sisters, Elizabeth Brewer, Kathleen Gabany, Madge Sauder and Peggy Sparks; five brothers, James, Clyde, Don, Harold and Bobby Brewer; other relatives and friends. Cummins Cecil R. Cummins of Cranston, Rhode Island, formerly of Steelville, Missouri, was born April 24, 1915 in Steelville, Missouri to Raymond Cummins and Molly Lee (Wilkinson) Cummins and passed away August 5, 2010 at West View Health Care Center in West Warwick, Rhode Island at the age of 95 years. On April 25, 1974, he was united in marriage to Norma J. (Wilkinson) Ragge. He served his country in the U.S. Army/Air Core and was a part of the D-Day Invasion. He spent most of his time in the army in the European campaign. Cecil was a member of the First Baptist Church of Steelville many years ago and later attended Tower Grove Baptist Church in St. Louis and Fresno Baptist Church in California. He semi-retired from General Motors as a machinist in St. Louis and later moved to California where he and Norma raised horses in Cherry Valley, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Molly Cummins; one brother, Charles Cummins and one sister, Emma Cummins. He is survived by his wife, Norma, of the home; two stepsons, Roy Ragge and wife Roberta of Rhode Island and Jim Ragge and wife Nadine of California; one sister, Aline Reid of Sedalia, Missouri; sister-in-law, Pauline Cummins of Fenton, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Daniel Schatz Daniel Austin Schatz of Sullivan, Missouri was born October 13, 1990 at Washington, Missouri to David and Chara (Cunieo) Schatz and passed away Thursday, August 5, 2010 at the age of 19 years, 9 months and 12 days. He was a life-long resident of the Sullivan area having been raised at Spring Bluff and attending Spring Bluff School.  Daniel later attended and graduated from Sullivan High School in 2009 where he excelled in all sports, especially as quarterback on the varsity football team. He then went on to study business and marketing at the University of Missouri at Columbia and also played football for the Mizzou Tigers. Daniel loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing and many other outdoors activities such as horseback riding, and gigging.  He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan, Missouri and actively involved with mission trips and the youth group. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Neil and Sarah Schatz; uncle, Edward Schatz and an aunt, Cynthia Lamb. He is survived by his parents, David and Chara Schatz of Sullivan; one brother, David Schatz, Jr.; three sisters, Devon, Dana and Dailee Schatz, all of the family home; grandparents, Jack and Ann Cunieo of Sullivan and Doris and Joe Hallam of Sullivan; other relatives and friends. Noah Edward Turnbough Noah Edward Turnbough was born on October 23, 1917 at Davisville, Missouri to Irvin and Rosa Turnbough (nee Tinker) and passed away August 10, 2010 at the age of 92 years, 9 months and 18 days. He was united in marriage to Frances Artie Askins on June 6, 1940 at Boss, Missouri and to this union one daughter was born. For the most part of Noah’s life, he lived in and around the St. Louis and Viburnum area. He made a profession of faith many years ago. Noah was a World War II Veteran. He was inducted into the United States Army on February 20, 1945 at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri. He served his country in many capacities from drill instructor to post master. He received the Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Citation Ribbon and two scholarships. He received an honorable discharge on August 3, 1946. In 1946, Noah joined the Coleman, Ogle, and Butt American Legion of Steelville, Missouri. Later in 1961, he became a member of the American Legion Post Number 601 at Davisville, Missouri, where he was an active member and served as Finance Officer for many years. He also served as Judge Advocate for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Rosa Turnbough; wife, Frances; sisters, Gladine Abney and husband Lawrence, Dorothy Ray and husband Henry, Dolly Turnbough, and infant brother, Finis; sister-in-law, Margaret Turnbough; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Earl Sellers. Rita Emma Voss Rita Emma Voss of Owensville, Missouri, was born in Americus, Missouri on February 15, 1921 to William and Sophie (Schroeder) Koenig and passed away Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the Gasconade Terrace in Owensville, Missouri at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 28 days. On May 11, 1946 in Starkenburg she was united in marriage to Elmer Albert Voss. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville, Missouri, where she was a member and had served as president of Our Lady’s Sodality, a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, the 4th Degree Ladies Auxiliary, and of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; son, David Voss; brothers, Vincent, Quentin, Joe, Valarian and Edward; and sisters, Barbara, Loretta, Bernadine and Gertrude. Gloria Whitesell Gloria Whitesell of St. James, Missouri was born in Hawaii on June 30, 1944 to Enrino and Flavia Banac and passed away Monday, August 9, 2010 at the Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 66 years. Gloria served her country in the United States Army where she met and married Richard Whitesell they were married on May 29, 1965 and spent 39 years together before Richard’s death in 2004. Gloria loved the outdoors; she enjoyed trout fishing, deer hunting and just being outdoors with family and friends. She was a wonderful cook and was always ready to whip up something special for her family. Gloria also loved to shop. Wymer of Bourbon, Missouri was born on September 24, 1937 at Bourbon, Missouri to Luther C. and Alice Mae (Payne) Wymer and passed away, Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the age of 72 years. He was a life-long resident of Bourbon, Missouri. On December 7, 1963 was married to Wilma L. Neff and to this marriage a daughter was born. Eldon worked at a variety of jobs, which included Paramount Headwear Company, Meramec Mining and lastly worked at the sawmill in Bourbon. He honorably served his country with the U.S. Army, attaining the rank to Tech Sergeant. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Alice Wymer; two brothers, Ovie and Calvin Eugene Wymer and by a sister, Dorothy Ivie. He is survived by a daughter, Patricia Pratt and husband Roy of Bourbon, Missouri; one brother, Clifford Wymer and wife Shirley of Bourbon, Missouri; sister, Ava Rohrer of Sullivan, Missouri; sisters-in-law Gladys and Viola Wymer; other relatives and friends. Colleen Yeargan Colleen Yeargan was born to William J. and Edna (Lynn) Coleman January 18, 1922 in Colton California and passed away June 28, 2010, at Meramec Nursing Center, Sullivan, Missouri. After graduating Colton High School she began a career with Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Co. in San Bernardino, California; starting as an Operator and retiring in 1974 as an Assistant Traffic Operating Manager. She was also a member of the San Bernardino Uptown Business Women’s Association and served as treasurer. In 1943, she met her husband Ralph one Sunday and married him the next; a true “love at first sight” story. She and her husband made Sullivan their home in 1984. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ralph; siblings, Finis Coleman, Rui Smith, William “Bill” Coleman, Frances Christian, and Corliss “Buck” Coleman; grandson Kevin Trippler, granddaughters-in-law Julie Shaffer and Pam Shaffer and son-in-law, Jack Angle. Mary Irene Zimmerle Mary Irene Zimmerle was born on July 5, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri to Cecil Wellington and Martha Blanche (Davis) Newton and passed away on Friday, July 30, 2010 at the age of 81 years. Irene was fondly known to many as “Rene”.
