Michael “Mikey” Denton Adams Michael “Mikey” Denton Adams of Cuba, Missouri was born Friday, October 2, 1959 at St. Louis, Missouri to Ralph and Veda (nee Leslie) Adams and passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 51 years. “Mikey”, as he was known by everyone, was the proud father of Shelby, Amy and Steven. Mikey worked as a labor in several different factories throughout his life. He was good hearted, enjoyed reading, going to the library, would give you his last dime and the shirt off of his back just to help a friend. He attended Faith Chapel Church of Cuba and in his younger years he enjoyed rabbit hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Veda Adams; nephew, Daniel Adams; brother-in-law, Melvin Makara; other relatives and friends. Doris Jean Bohrer Doris Jean (Byrd) Bohrer was born in St. James, Missouri on June 4, 1933 to Lawrence Edward Sr. and Mayme Elizabeth (Stricker) Byrd and passed away at her home on, Thursday, August 11, 2011, in St. James, Missouri at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 7 days. On February 10, 1951 Doris Byrd was united in marriage to William Charles Bohrer Jr. in Piggott, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Edward Sr. and Mayme Elizabeth Byrd Bohrer; husband, William Charles Bohrer Jr. on June 22, 2010; one son-in-law, Donald Carter; one brother, Charles Henry and one sister-in-law, Geraldine Byrd. She is survived by three daughters, Deborah Sue Bridges and husband Randy of Las Vegas, Nevada, Donna Marie Parker and husband Steven of Hendrix, Oklahoma and Lisa Ann Carter of St. James, Missouri; two brothers, Lawrence Edward “Bud” Byrd of St. James, Missouri and William James Byrd and wife Myrna of St. James, Missouri; two sisters Shirley Tabor and husband Cordell “Korky” of St. James, Missouri and Barbara Ann Warner of St. James, Missouri; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Chapman of Cuba, Missouri was born December 28, 1913 at Bourbon, Missouri to Benjamin and Gertrude Crow and passed away Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Cuba at the age of 97 years, 7 months and 16 days. Roberta was united in marriage to Virgil E. Chapman on April 12, 1947 at Bourbon, Missouri and to this union three children were born. They were happily married for 56 years. Roberta and Virgil were the owner/ operators of the Chapman Dry Cleaners in Cuba for 35 years before they retired. In her spare time she enjoyed making Christmas ornaments out of beads, sewing, cross stitching and spending time with her family was most important to her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Gertrude Crow; husband, Virgil E. Chapman; one son, John Chapman; two brothers, Marion and Floyd; four sisters, Vera, Effie, Maude and Minnie and other relatives and friends. She is survived by her two children, Maureen and husband James Godbey of Steelville, Missouri and Gary and wife Beverly Chapman of Belpre, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Nancy Chapman of Lee Summit, Missouri; sister-in-law, Dorothy Crow of Sullivan, Missouri; nine grandchildren; eight great grand- children; one great great grandchild and one on the way; other relatives and friends. Hohensee of Sullivan, Missouri, was born on March 21, 1938 at Springfield, Missouri to Victor and Mildred (Bilyeu) Hohensee and passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at the age of 73 years. Darrell was raised and schooled in Springfield, Missouri. On November 16, 1957 he was united in marriage to Georgia Adkison at Overland, Missouri and to this marriage three children were born. Darrell honorably served his country with the U.S. Army being stationed in Germany for a time. In 1974, the family moved to Sullivan, Missouri from Bridgeton, Missouri to make their home.  For the majority of his life he was an auto body repairman with his last employment being at Larry’s Auto Body in Gray Summit, Missouri, which he retired in 2002.  In his retirement years, he enjoyed restoring antique cars and fishing, also, his barbequing skills were second to none. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Mildred Hohensee; two brothers, Virgil (Butch) Hohensee and Steven Hohensee; a sister, Norma Murray; five brothers-in-law and their wives. He is survived by his wife, Georgia of the family home; a son, Michael Hohensee of Sullivan, Missouri; two daughters, Teresa Hohensee of Union, Missouri and Veneasa Erickson and husband Donald of Bourbon, Missouri; a brother, John Hohensee of Sparta, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Bill Murray of Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Michael and Keith Hohensee, Kati and Sherri Hulsey; six great grandchildren, Kya Hulsey, Sophie Burch, Leeann and Ralph Kamler, Larry and James Johnson; other relatives and friends. Ivie Corporal Donald Ivie, Springfield, Missouri was born February 15, 1967 in Sullivan, Missouri to Marvin and Betty Ivie of Cuba, Missouri and passed away July 31, 2011. He was an 18-year veteran of the Missouri State Highway Patrol and per-course Criminology instructor at Missouri State University. He was an avid outdoorsman, scholar, writer, and artist, but most importantly a dedicated family man. We will always remember his patience, smile and generosity, as he always put others first. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin. He is survived by his wife, Yvette; daughter, Bailee; step-children, Denea and Sam; mother, Betty Ivie of Cuba, Missouri; sisters, Joyce and Patti and her husband Marty; other relatives and friends. Mary Katherine Kemnitzer Mary Katherine Kemnitzer of Steelville, Missouri, was born in Malden, Missouri on June 26, 1925 to Roy and Essie Marie (Milligan) Richardson and passed away August 12, 2011 at her home. After graduating from high school Mary Katherine moved to St. James, Missouri and went to work for Strobach’s a local family owned pharmacy where she met a young man named Henry Kemnitzer. Henry and Mary Katherine were married November 10, 1945. They bought a river farm from Henry’s parents and lived there throughout their lives raising four children. Mary Katherine loved the farm life and working the farm with Henry. She loved her flower gardens and raised the most beautiful flowers that were often shared with family and friends. Living on the river brought many joys to the family, which were swimming, floating and fishing. She also loved her German Shepard, Fritzie. Henry said, “She was a considerate and kind woman and he was blessed to share her life.” Mary Katherine couldn’t think of a better day than the days spent with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Essie Richardson. She is survived by her husband Henry Kemnitzer of over 65 years; children, Elaine Bausell and husband Richard of St. Louis, Missouri, Carol Martin of St. James, Missouri, Henry N. Kemnitzer and wife Debra of St. James, Missouri, Michael Kemnitzer and wife Vickie of Steelville, Missouri; brother, Roy Richardson and wife Penny of St. James, Missouri; nephew, Russell Richardson; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; other relatives and friends. Jim Moeslein Jim Moeslein, formerly of St. Louis, Missouri, was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, class of 1957.  He worked for many years for both Concordia Publishing House and Jefferson Printing as a bookbinder.  He received a master craftsman award for excellence in folding and book binding operations. He loved being outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He belonged to meals on wheels in St. James, Missouri and was very active in St. Johns Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha Dooley Moeslein and parents, Charles and Emilie (Hoehne) Moeslein of Altenburg, Missouri. He is survived by his three children, Scott (Jamie) Moeslein of Columbia, Illinois, Bryan (Stacey) Moeslein of Lake St. Louis, Missouri and Cynthia (David) Zeiser of St. Peters, Missouri; step children, Craig (Cindy) Dooley of Wilmette, Illinois, Kevin (Melinda) Dooley of St. Louis, Missouri, Tim (Sandy) Dooley of Fort Worth, Texas and Pamela (Tony) Tabacchi of St. Charles, Missouri; five siblings, Edward Moeslein of Fenton, Missouri, Gladys Abernathy of Altenburg, Missouri, Doris Watters of St. James, Missouri, Charles (Pat) of New Melle, Misssouri and David Moeslein of St. James, Missouri; 16 grandchildren; six great grand- children; other relatives and friends. Harold Lee O’Haver Harold Lee O’Haver of Harriet, Arkansas, formerly of Rolla, Missouri, was born in Lake Spring, Missouri on February 3, 1927 to Thomas and Beatrice Farmane (Williams) O’Haver and passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the age of 84 years. On January 6, 1945 he married Delila Sharp. who preceded him in death on April 13, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Beatrice O’Haver; his wife, Delila on April 13, 2011 and one sister, Doris Spinali. (Boulton) Mosley on September 25, 1928 in Percy, Illinois and passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011 in her home at the age of 82 years. Hettie retired after many years of service at the Sunset Nursing Home in Union, Missouri. Her family was the most important part of her life and making sure all of their needs were taken care of was the part she enjoyed the most. She was known to be strong and independent. In her spare time she enjoyed cookouts, baking, having a green thumb, crocheting, quilting and making dolls.
