Mildred Ruth Cowan
Mildred Ruth Cowan, nee Richardson, of Cuba, Missouri, was born on
April 12, 1920 at Steelville, Missouri to the union of George “Ibe”
Richardson and Grace Marie Richardson, nee Terry and she passed away
August 14, 2009 at the age of 89, at Gibbs Care Center in Steelville,
Missouri.
Mildred accepted the Lord and was baptized in 1947. She was an active
member of the First Baptist Church in Cuba, Missouri for 54 years and
later joined Steelville First Baptist Church on entering Gibbs Care Center.
She loved to sing and enjoyed country music. She wrote poetry and had a
news column in the Cuba Free Press. Mildred also liked to cook and can
items from her garden.
Mildred was raised in Cherry Valley, south of Steelville and often spoke
of her growing up on a farm.
On August 7, 1937, she was united in marriage to Austin B. Cowan of Bourbon,
Missouri. They were happily married for 53 years until Austin’s death on
July 4, 1991.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Grace Richardson; her
husband, Austin; five brothers, Frank, Tom, Clarence, Bill and Walter; six
sisters, Edith, Pearl, Oma, Vera, Ima Lee and Goldie Richardson; one daughter,
Janet and husband C.C. Hunt.
She is survived by her son, Jim and wife Ruth Cowan of Ellisville, Missouri;
grandchildren, Susan Williams, Sandra Cowan, James and Sandra Cowan, Sharon
and Terry Blauvelt, Philip Hunt, Kevin and Tina Hunt, and Monya and Darrel
Clifton; 12 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 2-8 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at the Britton-
Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2009 at the
Cherry Valley Cemetery in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Jerry Beers
officiating. Special music of “When They Ring Those Golden Bells” was sung
and played on guitar by Rev. Jerry Beers.
Arrangements under the direction of the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of
Steelville, Missouri.
Edeltraud Dietmayer
Edeltraud Dietmayer was born April 16, 1915 in Germany and passed away
July 20, 2009 at the age of 94 years, 3 months and 4 days.
She was preceded in death by one son, Gottfried Kostrica of Germany and one
great grandson, John Allen Michael Cramer of Cuba, Missouri.
She is survived by three daughters, Erika and husband Josef Foag of Germany,
Marie Luise of Germany, Edeltraud and husband Charles Moehlmann of St. Louis,
Missouri; grandchildren, Charles and wife Christene Moehlmann, Nellie and
husband Steven Studt of St. Louis, Missouri, Debbie and husband John Cramer
of Cuba, Missouri, Manuela Kunter of Germany, Melanie and husband Karl
Kempter of Germany; great grandchildren, Josef and Jason Schultz of St. Louis,
Missouri, Heather and husband Martin Miller of Cuba, Missouri, Mariana Kunter
of Germany, Wendy and Bridget Cramer of Cuba, Missouri, Daniel Kempter of
Germany; great great grandchild, April L. Marie Miller of Cuba, Missouri.

Gregory Lee Fulton
Gregory Lee Fulton was born November 27, 1960 at St. Louis, Missouri to
Gerald and Shelbia (Lee) Fulton and passed away on August 2, 2009 at
Farmington, Missouri at the age of 48 years.
Gregory married Yvonne Jane Cook on September 10, 1983 at Steelville,
Missouri. Yvonne also passed away on August 2, 2009.
Gregory was member of Harvest Christian Centre of Park Hills, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Floyd and Bessie Lee, Hadley
and Gleta Fulton; uncle, Donnie Lee.
He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Fulton of Park Hills, Missouri and
Amanda Fulton of the home; his parents, Gerald and Shelbia Fulton; two
brothers, Timothy Wayne Fulton of Fenton, Missouri and Darrick Alan Fulton
and wife Kim of O’Fallon, Missouri.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at the Harvest
Christian Centre.
Interment was in the Libertyville Christian Cemetery with pastor Dwight
Jones officiating.

Yvonne Jane Fulton
Yvonne Jane Fulton was born December 10, 1962 at Annapolis Maryland to
Arthur and Cecelia “Rusty” Cook and passed away on August 2, 2009 at
Farmington, Missouri at the age 46 years.
Yvonne married Gregory Lee Fulton on September 10, 1983 at Steelville
Missouri. Gregory also passed away on August 2, 2009.
Yvonne was a member of Harvest Christian Centre.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Everett and Lois Cook and
Maurice and Daisy Ferrett.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Fulton of Park Hills, Missouri
and finance` Jordan Kearns and Amanda Fulton of Farmington, Missouri; her
parents, Arthur and Cecelia “Rusty” Cook; one brother, Matthew Cook and
wife Sharon of Cuba, Missouri.
Visitation was Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at the Harvest Christian Centre.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at the Harvest
Christian Centre, Park Hills, Missouri.
Interment was in the Libertyville Christian Cemetery with Pastor Dwight
Jones officiating.

Donald Lee Gallaher
Donald Gallaher of Caledonia, Missouri passed away August 9, 2009 at
St. Anthony’s Medical Center, at the age of 72 years.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Gallaher of Caledonia, Missouri; two
daughters, Diane Nicol and husband Larry of Caledonia, Missouri and Daria
Schneedle of Cuba, Missouri; two sons, Donnie Gallaher and wife Cheryl of
Farmington, Missouri and Travis Gallaher and friend Amanda Asberry of
Farmington, Missouri; sister, Marsha Trokey of Farmington, Missouri;
brother, Sam Gallaher and wife Betty of Belleview, Missouri; 12 grand-
children and six great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 4:30 at DeClue Funeral Home.
Funeral service was Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the DeClue
Chapel.
Interment was at the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery.
Arrangements under the direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
Ralph Eugene “Gene” Hanks
Ralph Eugene “Gene” Hanks of Hill City, Kansas, formerly of Steelville,
Missouri, was born November 16, 1935 in Steelville, Missouri to Earl and
Frances Ann (Hopkins) Hanks and passed away Sunday, August 9, 2009 at
Promise Hospital in Hutchinson, Kansas at the age of 73 years.
He was united in marriage to Leatrice Randall and to this union five
children were born. He later married Anita Karnes who preceded him in death
in May of 1994.
Gene was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Nicodemus,
Kansas, a member of the Masons and the Shriners. He was a Baptist minister
for part of his life.
He had been a heavy equipment operator and later a truck driver, owner and
operator for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and taking
care of his little dog, Lulu.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Frances Hanks; his wife,
Anita; three brothers, James, Joe and Earl Hanks; one grandchild; one great-
grandchild and one sister-in-law, Alma Hanks.
He is survived by his children, Shellie Phipps and husband Grady of Phoenix,
Arizona, Denny Hanks of Cimarron, Kansas, Leanne Lacy of Cozad, Nebraska,
Sheila Bogart and husband Roger of Kirwin, Kansas and Deanne Weber and
husband Mike of Akron, Colorado; four brothers, Jerry Hanks and wife Jettie
of St. James, Missouri, Delmar Hanks and wife Kay of Sikeston, Missouri,
Gary Hanks and wife Sherri of Lohman, Missouri and Mike Hanks and
significant other, Chrissy of Camdenton, Missouri; three sisters, Sharon
Thomas and husband Larry of Rich Fountain, Missouri, Pat Hanks and Debbie
Lorraine of Steelville, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Violet and Joyce Hanks
of Steelville, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; other
friends and relatives.
Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at the Britton-
Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri. Masonic services were conducted
by the Lebanon Lodge #77 of Steelville at 7 p.m. on Wednesday,
August 12, 2009.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2009 at the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Don Wissmann
officiating.
Special music of “Amazing Grace” was sung by daughter, Shellie Phipps and
accompanied on piano by Sharon England. “The Old Rugged Cross” was also
played. A eulogy written by daughters, Shellie Phipps and Leanne Lacy was
read.
Casket bearers were Shad Lacy, Josh Lacy, Josiah Lacy, Cody Bogart, Brenton
Bogart and Denny Hanks. Honorary casket bearers were Jerry Hanks, Delmar
Hanks, Gary Hanks, Michael Hanks and Andrew Weber.
During the graveside service, the 23rd Psalms was read by Sharon Hanks and
closing prayer and scripture were by Rev. Don Wissmann. Interment was in
the Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Thursday,
August 13, 2009 in Fulton, Missouri.

Steelville, Missouri.
Orpha “Callie” Caledonia Pryor
Orpha “Callie” Caledonia Pryor was born November 26, 1933 in Vienna, Missouri
to Vernon and Nelda (Meyer) Feeler and passed away August 15, 2009 in
Westphalia, Missouri at the age of 75 years.
Callie served her country in the United States Air Force, she enjoyed
fishing and camping and just being on the river, she was an avid St. Louis
Cardinals fan. She was baptized in the Diamond Grove Church.
Callie was united in marriage to Donald Pryor on February 4, 1961.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Nelda Feeler; husband,
Donald on March 25, 2002; sister, Audrey Hollenbeck and two grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Trula Lynn Woods and husband Mark of
Jefferson City, Missouri, Gary Wynne Hill and wife Laura of Vienna,
Missouri, Charles James Pryor and wife Carol of Freeburg, Missouri, Dawnette
Lea Jones, of Vienna, Missouri; brother, Tilghman Feeler and wife Louise of
Cuba, Missouri; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three step
grandchildren, six step great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Monday, August 17, 2009 from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the
St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Pastor Stephen Brubaker
officiating.
Interment was in the James Community Cemetery in Vienna, Missouri.
Arrangements under the direction of the James & Gahr Mortuary.
Kathleen E. Rowden
Kathleen E. “Kathy” Rowden of Leasburg, Missouri was born to the union of
William F. and Violet K. (Miles) Joy on February 20, 1937 in Hampshire,
England and passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2009 in Cuba, Missouri at the
age of 72 years, 5 months and 22 days.
Kathy was united in marriage to Allan F. Rowden on April 19, 1958 in
Hampshire, England and to this union six children were born.
Kathy was a homemaker and a member of TOPS and Copling-Spreng A.L. Post
#456 Ladies Auxiliary. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, crafts and
helping with the 4-H club. What she treasured the most was spending time
with her family especially her grandchildren and her dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William F. and Violet K. (Miles)
Joy; husband, Allan F. Rowden and two children, Debbie Jo and Patrick Allan
Rowden.
She is survived by four children, Linda Sue and husband Larry Ransom, Charles
Lee and wife Terri Rowden, Tammy Lynn and husband Barrie Byrd, Mark Allan and
wife Rhonda Rowden, all of Leasburg, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Jeremy and
wife Melissa Ransom, Tara and husband Lance Eikermann, Tori and husband Dave
Smith, Jacob, Nicholas and Megan Rowden, Michael Byrd, Samuel and Anthony
Rowden; one great grandchild Morgan Ransom; one sister, Peg and husband
Maurice Champion of Hampshire, England; one brother, Albert Joy of Hampshire,
England; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Thursday, August 13, 2009 from 1-3 p.m. at Britton
Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri followed by a Graveside service 3:30 p.m. at
Lick Creek Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

Missouri.
