Frances Ellen Bott
Frances Ellen Bott of Sullivan, Missouri, was born on January 27, 1928 in
Moberly, Missouri to Lewis Wilson and Zella Edith (Williams) Richards and
passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at the age of 82 years.
She married John E. Bott on March 29, 1947, in Moberly, Missouri and to
this union, five children were born.
Frances was determined to do the best in whatever endeavor she took on and
was never afraid of work. She started out as a young lady working in a
dairy, spent time with Orchline Trucking out of Moberly, did a stint at
the Thrifty Market in Sullivan, and worked for nearly 30 years in the
office of Sullivan Community Hospital. All the while she managed her home,
especially when John’s job took him out of town for weeks, raised five
children and saw that they all grew up knowing Jesus, volunteered at her
church, Temple Baptist, was president for a time at the VFW Ladies
Auxiliary, and sang regularly as a member of the Templeaires. Before and
after retirement, Frances was an active member of almost every activity
of her church, Sunday school to Worship, VBS to Missions, Choir to the Ball
Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Zella Richards; her
husband, John; daughter, Vickie Bott and three brothers, Jay R., Howard
and Ronald Richards.
She is survived by one daughter, Karen Bott of Sullivan, Missouri; three
sons, Robert D. Bott and wife Rachel of Oak Harbor, Washington, Lewis Bott
and wife Joanne of Bourbon, Missouri and Dennis E. Bott and wife Donna of
Sullivan, Missouri; six grandchildren, Christine Neff, Francine Colwell,
Jason, Alicia, Robert, and John Bott; four great grandchildren, Adam,
Marissa, Ruby and Elliot; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 11 a.m. in
Temple Baptist Church, Sullivan, under the care of the Eaton Funeral
Home, Sullivan, Missouri.
Burial was in the Oddfellows Memorial Cemetery.
Arrangements under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan,
Missouri.
Michael A. Cain
Michael A. Cain, formerly of Sullivan, Missouri, was born on
January 28, 1949 in Sullivan, Missouri to Melvin Richard and Florence
Mabel (Cochran) Cain and passed away in his home in Hollister, Missouri
on August 9, 2010 at the age of 61 years.
He was very artistic and enjoyed drawing. He loved to hunt and fish and
played music with various bands in the area. Michael worked as a handyman
and did odd jobs.
He is survived by a son, Michael Cain, Jr. of Sullivan, Missouri; two
daughters, Jenny Cain of Sullivan, Missouri and Christina Cain of
Caruthersville, Missouri; two brothers, Stanley Cain of Sullivan, Missouri
and Dennis Cain of Bourbon, Missouri; six grandchildren, Kayla, Lucas,
Chloie, Cristian, Nathan, and Jonathan; other relatives and friends.
A Memorial funeral service was conducted Saturday, August 21, 2010 at
Meramec State Park.
Arrangements under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home of Sullivan,
Missouri.
Virginia Francine Darrough
Virginia “Ginny” Francine Darrough of Cuba, Missouri was born Monday,
March 8, 1943 at St. Louis, Missouri to Zelmer and Charlotte (nee Bock)
Easley and passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Cuba, Missouri at the
age of 67 years, 5 months and 9 days.
Ginny was united in marriage to John G. Darrough and to this union two
children were born.
Ginny retired in 2003 from Bussman in St. Louis after 38 years of
dedicated service. After retiring they moved to Indian Hills. Ginny
enjoyed playing bingo, traveling to Oklahoma, Tunica and Las Vegas to go
to the casinos. But what she enjoyed most was spending time with her family
and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Zelmer and Charlotte Easley;
sister, Barb Simon; brother, Ricky Easley; sister-in-law, Doris Darrough;
brother-in-law, Chuck Darrough; other relatives and friends.
She is survived by her husband, John of the home; two children, David
Darrough of Valley Park, Missouri and Christine Houston of Byrnes Mill,
Missouri; five grandchildren, Andy Wallace, Jamie and Jessica Darrough,
Ian and Jonathan Houston; one sister, Sandy and husband Bill Mullins of
St. Louis, Missouri; two brothers, Larry Easley of Moscow Mills, Missouri
and Billy Easley of Defiance, Missouri; brothers-in-law, Jim and wife Jan
Simon of Wildwood, Missouri, James and wife Marge Darrough of Warrenton,
Missouri, Joseph Darrough of Belridge, Missouri, Irl Darrough of Cuba,
Missouri and Bruce and wife Cindy Darrough of Wildwood, Missouri;
sister-in-law, Karen Darrough of St. Peters, Missouri; other relatives
and friends.
Private services will be held at a later date.

Mary Anna Dodson
Mary Anna Dodson was born March 25, 1940 in Desloge, Missouri to Joseph and
Lena Margrite (Hart) Hamm and passed away Friday, August 20, 2010 in
St. James, Missouri at the age of 70 years.
Mary was united in marriage to Charles Lee Dodson Sr. on April 17, 1959
and to that union two children were born.
Mary was a member of the First Assembly of God in St. James, Missouri. She
was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. She ran her own daycare Mary’s Little
Lambs, drove a school bus for handicap children, and worked as a
developmental assistant at the Rolla Regional Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lena Hamm; sisters,
Alma, Melba and Faye and brothers, Harold and Donald.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Lee Dodson Sr. of St. James,
Missouri; daughter, Leanna Willams and husband Dean of St. James, Missouri;
son, Charles Lee Dodson Jr. of Rolla, Missouri; sister, Edith Alice Walston
of Collinsville, Illinois; grandchildren, Adam Davis, Seth Davis and
Brittany Dodson; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 23, 2010 from 5-7 p.m. at James &
Gahr Mortuary in Rolla, Missouri.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at James & Gahr
Mortuary in Rolla, Missouri with Rev. Mick Thrasher officiating.
Interment was at the Flat Grove Cemetery with full military honors.

Clarence L. Falloon
Clarence L. Falloon of Hermann, Missouri was born in Bourbon, Missouri on
February 27, 1929, Mayburn and Bessie (Reeves) Falloon and passed away
Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at his home at the age of 81 years.
He married Deloris “Dee” L. (West) on July 7, 1950 at Salem, Arkansas.
He was a self-employed carpet installer and he proudly served in the U.S.
Navy during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mayburn and Bessie Falloon.
He is survived by his wife, Deloris; daughter, Cindi Benz and husband Dave
of Edmond, Oklahoma; son, Allen Falloon and wife Sharon of Villa Ridge,
Missouri; two sisters, Marie Miller and husband John of Labadie, Missouri
and Lula Yarbrough of Union, Missouri; brother, Paul Falloon and wife Violet
of Bourbon, Missouri; two grandchildren, David Nadler and wife Shelly and
Matt Nadler and wife Amy; two great grandchildren, Allison and Blaine
Nadler; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Wednesday, August 18, 2010 from 4-8 p.m. at Toedtmann &
Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann,
Missouri at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2010 with Ben Grosse
officiating.
Burial at the Falloon Family Farm, Hermann, Missouri.

Rita Ann Verkamp Hertfelder
Rita Ann Verkamp Hertfelder of Las Vegas, Nevada was born September 30, 1933
in St. James, Missouri and passed away August 12, 2010 at the age of 76
years.
Rita practiced Catholicism.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Julie Verkamp; brother,
Bernard Verkamp; sister, Margaret Verkamp Wilson and daughter, Regina
Hertfelder Bradley.
She is survived by a son, Greg Hertfelder; daughter, Katrina Hertfelder
Souza; grandchildren, Courtney Bradley, Kyle Bradley, Amanda Moore, and Soda
Souza; Rita’s dog, Naja, also held a special place in her life; other
relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Saturday, August 21, 2010 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
at the St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary followed by a Memorial
Mass at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Interment was in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in St. James,
Missouri.

Rosa Medlock Jackson
Rosa Belle Medlock Jackson of Houston, Missouri, was born May 25, 1928 to
Joseph and Zella Snow and passed away August 14, 2010 at Birch Tree Place
Nursing Center at the age of 82 years.
She was married to Vernon Lee Medlock and later married Vernon Lee
Jackson.
She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She attended
the Houston Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Zella Snow; husbands,
Vernon Medlock and Vernon Jackson and siblings.
She is survived by her children, James Medlock of Muncie, Indiana, Ann
Yarber of Birch Tree, Missouri, Ron Medlock of Cache, Oklahoma, Shirley
Ferrell of Richmond, Missouri, Denny Medlock of Licking, Missouri, Sandra
Dunigan of Licking, Missouri, Ervin Medlock of Success, Missouri, Mike
Medlock of Cuba, Missouri, Scott Medlock of Plato, Missouri, Amy Christ of
Cabool, Missouri; step children, Mike Jackson and Lisa Owens of Aurora,
Missouri, James Jackson of Springfield, Missouri, and Katy Carter of West
Plains, Missouri; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; other relatives
and friends.
Services were August 16, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Evans Funeral Home, Houston,
Missouri with Bill Villapiano officiating.
Pallbearers were Ron Medlock, Denny Medlock, Kenny Ferrell, Mike Medlock,
Ervin Medlock and George Christ.
Interment in the Mitchell Cemetery, Licking, Missouri.

Norvel Ray Payne
Norvel Ray Payne of Leasburg, Missouri, was born on December 17, 1938 to
James Payne and Martha Thomas and passed away August 16, 2010 at the
Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan at the age of 71 years, 7 months
and 30 days.
Norvel was a member of the Christian Family Fellowship Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Martha Payne and a
sister, Dorothy Boyer.
He is survived by a son, Billy Payne of Iberia, Missouri; daughter, Wendy
Barnhart and husband Larry of Iberia, Missouri; three brothers, James
Payne of Cuba, Missouri, Harvey Payne and wife Johnny Sue of Farmington,
Missouri and Bobby Payne and wife Terry of Farmington, Missouri; sister,
Wilda Payne of Farmington, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, August 20, 2010 at 2 p.m.
at the DeClue Chapel with Bro. Jim Payne officiating.
Interment and final prayers held at Caledonia Methodist Cemetery.

Potosi, Missouri.
Elsie Francis Pearce
Elsie Francis Pearce of St. James, Missouri was born on October 7, 1924 to
Luther T. and Florence (Vulgamore) Peters and passed away on Wednesday,
August 18, 2010, at the Phelps County Regional Hospital in Rolla, Missouri.
She was 85 years, 10 months and 11 days of age.
She was preceded in death are her parents, Luther and Florence Peters an
one brother, Robert Peters.
She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Christen and husband David of
St. James, Missouri; one son, Joseph Pearce and wife Rina of Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Brandon, Steven, Shannon and Glen; other
relatives and friends.
Visitation was from noon till time of memorial service at 2 p.m. on
Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James,
Missouri.
Memorial services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2010
at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri with Aaron Jeffers
officiating. Music was provided by Don Davis.

Rosie Bell Shivers
Rosie Bell Shivers was born in Indian Creek, Missouri on June 13, 1919 to
Jessie James and Lillie (Owens) Lamkey and passed away August 15, 2010 in
Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 91 years, 2 months and 2 days.
Rosie was united in marriage to Archie Shivers on July 26, 1936 and to
this union five children were born. Rosie and Archie celebrated 51 years
of marriage before his death in 1987.
She was a member of the St. James Assembly of God Church where she attended
for over 40 years before her failing health moved her to her daughter,
Imogene’s home in Sullivan, Missouri, where she than attended the Sullivan
Assembly of God Church.
She taught Sunday school at the St. James Assembly of God Church for 37
years and knew the most important part of her job was to teach the first
and second grade girls the word of God. Rosie worked at the Missouri
Veterans Home for 25 years she retired in 1986.
Rosie loved reading her Bible everyday; she enjoyed walking, cooking for
her family and friends, and gardening. Rosie loved growing flowers and
always had a nice big vegetable garden she shared with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Lillie Lamkey; husband
Archie; son, Archie Shivers Jr.; brothers, Austin, Ralph, Samuel, Clifford
and Christopher Lamkey.
She is survived by her children, Edward Shivers and wife Sue of New Haven,
Missouri, Lloyd Shivers and wife Doshia of Potosi, Missouri, Nola Conway of
Springfield, Missouri and Imogene Hammack West of Sullivan, Missouri;
grandchildren, Charlene Hammack, Carl Hammack, Courtney West, Angie
Kormeier, Brian Conway, Donnie Conway, Lisa Conway, Rosemary Smith, Dianna
Shivers, Junior Shivers, Eddie Shivers; sisters, Evelyn Warren of Potosi,
Missouri and Annie Middleton of Maryland Heights, Missouri; 30 great
grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren; other relatives and
friends.
Visitation was held Tuesday, August 17, 2010 from 4:30-8 p.m.
Funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the
Assembly of God Church in St. James, Missouri with Reverends Mick Thrasher
and Kyle Phillips officiating.
A graveside service was held at 1:30 p.m. in the Sunset Hills Cemetery in
Potosi, Missouri.

Harold James Stroupe
Harold James Stroupe of Steelville, Missouri was born Sunday, April 6, 1947
in St. Louis, Missouri to Harry and Maude Stroupe and passed away
August 19, 2010 at the age of 63 years.
He worked for Industrial Wire Products in Sullivan, Missouri for over 20
years and was a proud member of the Teamsters Local 688. He enjoyed life
with his family on many unforgettable hunting and fishing trips.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Maude Stroupe; three
brothers, Joseph, Frederick and Michael Stroupe; brother-in-law, Richard
Holmes; other relatives and friends.
He is survived by his family, Raymond (Mary) Stroupe of Barnhart, Missouri,
Linda (Richard) Heflin and Debra Christopher, all of Cuba, Missouri, Kenneth
Stroupe and Mary (Joseph) Storey of Steelville, Missouri; sister-in-law,
Linda K. Stroupe of St. Louis, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was at 1 p.m. Monday, August 23, 2010 at Jefferson Barracks
National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri with full military honors.

Bessie “Juanita” Vaughn
Bessie “Juanita” Vaughn of Owensville, Missouri, formerly of Cuba, Missouri,
was born November 17, 1918 in Leasburg, Missouri to Sample Austin and Bessie
Mae (Halfaker) Orr and passed away Thursday, August 19, 2010 in Owensville,
Missouri at the age of 91 years.
Juanita was united in marriage to Wiley V. Vaughn on June 16, 1937 in
St. Louis, Missouri and to this union two daughters were born.
Juanita retired from Big Three Motors in Warrenton, Missouri as a
Bookkeeper. She was a parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church and later
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was a former member of the O.E.S.
Chapters in Warrenton and Cuba. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, serving
others, pinochle and was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award from the
Cuba Senior Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sample and Bessie Mae Orr; her
husband, Wiley; two brothers, Sam and Jewel Orr; other relatives and
friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Roxana and husband Dean Brueseke of
Sullivan, Missouri and Darlene and husband Herman Smith of Orangeburg,
South Carolina; four grandchildren, Erin and husband Cody Sassmann of
Owensville, Missouri, Michael and wife Megan Brueseke of O’Fallon,
Missouri, Beth Draco of Hickman, Tennessee and James Smith of Orangeburg,
South Carolina; six great grandchildren, Tucker, Boden, Claire, Alexandria,
Zan and Tori; friend and companion of 25 years, Bernard J. McGuire of
Owensville, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held on Friday, August 20, 2010 at 10 a.m. at
Gasconade Manor 1920 Nursing Home Rd. Owensville, Missouri with Chaplain
Joey Peyton, officiating.

Missouri.
