MO Local Obituaries for the Week of August 26, 2015 Zelma Mae Callahan Zelma Mae Callahan (nee Turnbough) of Davisville, Missouri was born September 13, 1924 at Dillard, Missouri to Thurber Edward and Lillie Bell Sellers Turnbough and passed away Monday, August 17, 2015 at the age of 90 years, 11 months and 4 days. On August 15, 1952 she married Lavondel "Vondel" Lee Callahan and to this union one child was born. For several years, Zelma took care of her mother and babysit many children in the St. Louis area. After her mother passed away, Zelma and Vondel moved from the city to a farm that they had purchased on Hobo Road in Davisville, Missouri. She and Vondel were faithful members of the Center Ridge Pentecostal Church. Zelma was like a church "mother" of many little ones throughout the years. She worked at the Ozark Cafˇ, Spare Rib Inn, Viburnum Inn and then Brown Shoe Company where she worked for 10 years until her retirement in 1987. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thurber and Lillie Turnbough; her husband, Vondel; infant daughter, Judy Mae; three brothers, Willard Turnbough, Jake Turnbough and Bill Turnbough; one sister, Wilma Todd and husband Riley; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom Callahan, Rainey Callahan, Wilma Callahan and Norman Callahan and wife Louella. She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Rosalene Turnbough of Davisville, Missouri and Kaye Turnbough of Steelville, Missouri; special friends and caregivers, Marshall and Tammy Martin of Cherryville, Missouri; special "adopted" grandchildren, Kevin Martin and wife Alex and Jennifer Martin, all of Davisville, Missouri; special "adopted" great grandchild, Marshal Martin of Davisville, Missouri; brothers and sisters-in-law, Willis Callahan and wife Geraldine of Steelville, Missouri and Imogene Callahan of Rolla, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Coleman and Pastor Harrison Brown officiating. Special music of a Medley of Songs and "I Won't Have to Worry Anymore" was sung by Bob and Carol Coleman accompanied on piano by Shirley Brown. Committal prayer and interment were in the New Dillard Cemetery, Dillard, Missouri. Casket bearers were Terry Martin, Henry Martin, Dan Halbert, Clifford Todd, Marshall Martin, Dwight Brown, Dwayne Brown and Delbert Callahan with Junior Callahan and Clyde Pyatt as honorary casket bearers. Copling was born Janaury 28, 1953 to Benjamin T. and Mary Petty Copling and passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the age of 62 years. Larry was recently baptized on November 22, 2014 and was a member of Community Baptist Church of Lebanon, Missouri. He loved fishing, hunting and working on vintage cars. He was employed by Detroit Tool and Emerson Copeland of Lebanon, Missouri. He was a great co-worker and classmate. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Mary Copling; and a brother, Jim Copling. He is survived by his sister, Patricia Copling Nord and husband Scott; niece, Hunter of Owensboro, Kentucky; other relatives and friends. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Community Baptist Church with Pastor Allen Reeves officiating. Burial was in the Lick Creek Cemetery at Cuba, Missouri. Freda A. Fuchs Freda A. Fuchs of Highland, Illinois was born June 1, 1921, in Oak Hill, Missouri to Ollie C. and Nellie D. (Simpson) Souders and passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015 at the age of 94 years. Freda was united in marriage to James T. Fuchs on April 11, 1941. She was a 75-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 228, St. Louis, and Home Chapter 313, St. Louis, Missouri and VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 5694, Highland, Illinois. Freda was born and raised in Oak Hill, Missouri. She graduated from Cuba High School and graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Freda taught school briefly before moving to St. Louis, Missouri. She worked for Lockwoven Company for many years. She and her husband moved to Creve Coeur in late 1940s, and later moved to Highland, Illinois in 2009 to be near her daughter. She enjoyed growing flowers, taking care of her garden, sewing, quilting, hand or fancy work. She was a very dedicated person and always tried to do her best. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Nellie Souders; and husband, James on October 10, 1990. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon R. Hargus of Highland, Illinois, step-son, Donald I. Fuchs of Owensville, Missouri; sister, Pauline Bell of Highland, Illinois; step-grandchildren, Darin J. Fuchs of Owensville, Missouri, Dale W. Fuchs of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Dawn R. Beverly Kay Grouns Beverly Kay Grouns of St. James, Missouri was born in St. Louis, Missouri on September 7, 1964 to Rodney and Constance (Martin) Grouns and passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 at the age of 50 years. After graduating from high school Beverly went to nursing school where she would earn her R.N. license. She was a caretaker by nature, so this was assuredly the right course for her. She not only loved her profession she excelled at it. Beverly was faithful in the Lord and loved singing and writing gospel music. She was also a great storyteller who loved to make her family and friends laugh. Her laugh was so infectious by the time she would get done with the story everyone in the room would be laughing. She also loved the river, so much in fact her familys nickname for her was River-Bev. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rodney and Connie Grouns; daughter, Annie; and sister, Diana Brown. Joyce Marie Look Joyce Marie Look of Rolla, Missouri was born to Frank David Olmstead and Katherine Marie Anderson Olmstead-Carlisle on January 19, 1937 in Spokane, Washington and passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the age of 78 years. Joyce attended a one-room country school, in Onion Creek, Washington until the sixth grade. She then transferred to Northport High School, in Northport, Washington, where she graduated in 1954. After graduation, she worked six years as a telephone operator supervisor with Southwestern Bell in Spokane, Washington. Joyce married Ernest Dean Look on April 25, 1959 and to this union three children were born. In 1974, Joyce and Ernie moved their family to Rolla, Missouri. Joyce served as the Director of the Happy Hours Day Care Center in Rolla, Missouri for 28 years, until she retired in 2007. Joyce loved and served the Lord and was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Her hobbies included reading and studying the Bible, gardening and scrapbooking. The greatest gift she left each of her children are the photo albums she worked on, documenting the lives of each family throughout the years. She loved attending church, the grandkids sports events and school activities. She also touched the lives of so many other children with her work at the daycare center. One of her greatest accomplishments was in 2004 when she was able to overcome a long battle with breast cancer. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Frank Olmstead and Katherine Olmstead-Carlisle; stepfather, Jack Carlisle; two brothers, Don Olmstead and wife Charlotte of Northport, Washington and Jimmy Olmstead and wife Jo of St. Joseph, Missouri; brother-in-law, Fred Look of Colville, Washington. Seabaugh of Jefferson City, Missouri was born on April 6, 1947 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Richard E. and Margie G. (Holmes) Seabaugh and passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the age of age 68 years. Garry was married on April 13, 1968 in Cuba, Missouri to Joyce Marie Busbey. Garry graduated from Cuba High School in Cuba, Missouri and in 1977 received his associate's degree in heating, ventilation and air conditioning from Linn State Technical College. He served three years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict and was honorably discharged on January 31, 1968. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Garry was employed as a salesman of welding supplies and accessories for over 30 years until ill health forced his retirement on February 11, 2013. During those years he worked for Forney Industries based out of Fort Collins, Colorado and retired from K.T. Industries based out of Sheldon, Iowa. Garry always enjoyed visiting and meeting people all around the state. Garry was part of the Assembly of God faith and also a past member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. During his free time, Garry enjoyed golfing with friends, hunting, and fishing. In his younger years, he spent many summers playing softball and going on an annual snake hunting trip to Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Seabaugh; his step-father, Dr. W.J. Ward, Jr.; and one sister, Glenda Seabaugh. Donna June Ziegler Donna June Ziegler of Dittmer, Missouri was born in Grubville, Missouri on January 4, 1928 to William Earl and Rita Lucille Lee (nee Weber) and passed away August 10, 2015 at the age of 87 years, 7 months and 6 days. On January 4, 1957, she was united in marriage to Oliver Edward Ziegler, known to many as Ollie. Donna was a Christian and 30-year member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Grubville, Missouri. During her working years, she was employed as a laboratory technician for Mallinckrodt Pharmaceutical Company in St. Louis, Missouri, retiring after over 25 years of service. During her younger years, Donna had been an active member of the church and was always there to lend a helping hand at church dinners and to make apple butter. She had enjoyed sewing and in later years, quilting with the ladies at church. Her daughter and granddaughter were her pride and joy and enjoyed hearing of their many accomplishments as they showed and raised horses. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Rita Lee; husband, Ollie Ziegler; son-in-law, Dr. Ron Pappan; and two brothers, Wendel and Kenneth Lee. Garry Kenneth Williams Sr. Garry Kenneth Williams Sr. of St. James, Missouri was born on December 6, 1960 in Phelps County to Fred and Emily Elizabell Elms Williams and passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the age of 54 years, 8 months and 5 days. Garry loved to work on cars, he did many frame off restorations. He enjoyed restoring cars to their original beauty. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharge in 1980. He was stationed in Fort Riley, Kansas where he served as a Cannon Crewman, receiving decorations of an Expert in Hand Grenade and Expert Marksman with an M-16 Rifle. After his military career, Garry worked for the St. James Ambulance Service under the leadership of Rich and Barb Wirz. He is survived by two sons, Gary Kenneth Williams Jr. of Rolla, Missouri and Allen Cale Williams and fiancˇe Samantha Marie Brinker of St. James, Missouri; one daughter, Michelle Louise Williams of Rolla, Missouri; three brothers, Eddie Williams of St. James, Missouri and David and Mark Williams of Rolla, Missouri; one sister, Joyce Check of Springfield, Missouri; six grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
