MO Local Obituaries for the Week of August 28, 2002 Lillian "Pearl" Crowder Lillian Pearl Crowder nee Baker was born on April 17, 1916 in Camp Sherwood, Louisiana to Robert Baker and Adelia Grote Baker. She departed this life on Friday, August 16, 2002 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. at the age of 86 years, 3 months and 30 days. Lillian moved to Hinch, Mo. when she was a small child, and attended school there. On March 4, 1949 Lillian Pearl Baker was united in marriage to Joel Franklin Crowder at the home of Melvin Enloe in Crawford County, Mo., and to this union four children were born. Since her marriage Lillian lived and worked on the Crowder family farm. She enjoyed the outdoors where she raised chickens, and loved to garden. She also enjoyed sewing and quilting. Lillian attended Trinity Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Franklin Crowder; her parents; two brothers, Eugene and Robert Baker; one sister, Kate Spicer; two brothers-in-law, Earl Thomas Crowder and Marvin Robert Crowder; and mother-in-law, Viola Valentine Crowder. Those who remain to mourn her passing are her children, Wayne Alan Crowder and wife Marge of Pullman, Washington, Anita Mary Crowder of New Castle, Delaware, Robert Franklin Crowder of Cuba, Mo., and Fay Katherine Pellicciaro of West Chester, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Pauline Farris and Bobbie Mercer of Cuba, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Ruby White of Hawthorne, California; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends, all who will sadly miss and fondly remember Lillian Pearl Crowder. Visitation was 5-9 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2002 at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, Mo. Funeral services were 2 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2002 at Hutson Funeral Chapel in Cuba, Mo. with Rev. Delmar B. Hutson officiating. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Cuba, Mo. Pallbearers were Clark Baker, Jim Britton, Kenny Crowder, Scott Heintz, Stanley Jost, and Jim Reed. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association and/or the Arthritis Foundation. All arrangements were under the direction of Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Mo. Jerry Douglas Easler Jerry Douglas Easler of Cuba, Mo. was born on July 14, 1952 at Owensboro, Kentucky to the union of James A. Easler and Theresa (Vance) Easler and passed away suddenly on August 20, 2002 at the Missouri Baptist Hospital, Sullivan, Mo. at the age of 50 years, 1 month and 6 days. On November 27, 1971 Doug was united in marriage to Diana Prince at Berkley, Mo. They have been happily married for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his father James A. Easler, and one brother Johnny Easler. On July 16, 1969 he entered the Army of the United States of America and served in the Viet Nam conflict. He was honorably discharged on July 1, 1975. Doug was a member of the Word of Life Fellowship Church of Sullivan, MO. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a zest for life that will be sadly missed. Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life are his devoted wife Diana Easler; two sons Doug Easler, Jr. and Jacob Easler; two daughters Sarah Blunt and husband Brandon and Becky Easler; mother Thrersa Kirkman; mother and father-in-law Owen and Mickey Prince; two grandchildren Kailee Brinson and Cole Blunt. Five brothers, Gene Easler and wife Sherry, Matt Easler and wife Pam, Steven Easler and wife Brenda, Timmy Easler and wife Cindy and James Easler and wife Diane; one sister Peggy Huckstep; brother-in-law Owen Prince, Jr.; two sisters-in-law Sharon Cunningham and husband Jim and Stephanie Turner and husband Jeff; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends. Doug was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, good friend to all who knew him and will be sadly missed. Jerry Douglas Easler was in state at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Mo. where funeral services were held on Friday, August 23, 2002 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Terry Palmer officiating. Interment was in the Jefferson Barracks Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo. All arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Mo. Craig Dorian Oliver Craig Dorian Oliver was born Febraury 13, 1966 in St. Louis, Mo. to Michael James Oliver and Linda Lee Ossana, and departed this life on August 16, 2002 as the result of a motorcycle accident at the age of 36 years, six months, and three days. Craig was a graduate of Troy Buchanan High School and the University of Arizona in Tucson. He was a member of the Troy, Mo. Chapter of DeMolay Masonic Lodge. He received salvation May 2, 1980 and was baptized August 24, 1980. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool, bowling, music, biking, travel and making new friends. He played Little League baseball as a child. Craig was employed by the Davis Construction Company. His son, Michael John Oliver, preceded Craig in death, as well as his paternal grandparents, Carmen and Reeney Oliver, and his maternal grandfather, Livio Albert Aldo Ossana. Those who remain to mourn his passing are his loving mother and stepfather Linda and Michael Leninger of Steelville, Mo.; special friend Tamara Parrett of Steelville, Mo.; two daughters Hannah Paige Nevills and Heather Rose Nevills of Washington, Mo. One brother Joseph E. Balling of Troy, Mo.; one sister Jennifer L. Balling of Piggot, Arkansas; two aunts, Diana Lynn Ossana and Gina Michelle King of Tucson, Arizona; one uncle, Albert A. Ossana, Jr. of Holiday, Florida. Two nieces Taylor and Alexandra Balling and one nephew, Kameron Kraig Balling; his maternal grandmother Marian Yvonne Anyan Ossana of Oro Valley, Arizona, and many more relatives and friends who love him, miss him and will fondly remember Craig Dorian Oliver. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2002, at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Mo. Funeral service was held 11 a.m. Monday, August 19, 2002 at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Mo., with Reverend Delmar B. Hutson officiating. Pallbearers were Michael Leninger, Joseph Balling, Robert Crader, Jim Davis, Shane Hunt and Justin Davis. Burial was in the Gibbs Cemetery east of Steelville, Mo. All arrangements were under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Mo. Timothy "Tim" Michael Smith Timothy "Tim" Michael Smith of Cuba, Mo. was born on February 5, 1968 at Fort Rucker, Alabama to the union of Dairl Smith and Mary Kathryn (Zuehl) Smith and passed away suddenly at his home near Cuba, Mo. on August 15, 2002 at the age of 34 years, 6 months and 10 days. On November 12, 1998 Tim was united in marriage to Melissa Taylor at Steelville, Mo. Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life are his loving wife Melissa Smith; three children, Dalton, Kyla and Tabatha Smith; parent Dairl and Kathy Smith; one sister Amy Hope other relatives and many friends. Tim was a devoted husband, loving father, son, brother, good friend to all who knew him and will be sadly missed. Memorial services for Timothy "Tim" Michael Smith were held on Monday, August 19, 2002 at 4:00 p.m. at the Freewill Baptist Church, Cuba, Mo. All arrangements under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Mo. Rosella Marie Ware Rosella Marie Ware of Bourbon, Mo. passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2002 at the age of 80 years. Mrs. Ware was born on January 8, 1922 in Cuba, Mo. to Ben and Georgia (Fleming) Chapman, and has remained a lifelong resident of the Bourbon and Cuba area. On June 27, 1939 she was joined in marriage to Estel R. "Bud" Ware at Steelville, Mo., and to their union six children were born. In addition to serving her family as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, Marie worked diligently at the Circle Inn Malt Shop in Bourbon for over 25 years. She enjoyed crocheting, working with flowers, and was well known for her delicious, baked pies. Marie was a follower of the Baptist faith, and will be cherished and remembered as a strong yet sweet person. She is survived by three sons, Leonard Ware and wife, Tammy, Robert Ware, and Lawrence Ware, all of Bourbon; three daughter, Berniece Quinton and husband, Dale, of West Fork, Arkansas, Elaine Steuernagel of Bourbon, and Kat Rigas of Sarasota, Florida; one sister, Dorothy McWilliams of Bloomfield, New Mexico; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Ware was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2002 from the Eaton Chapel in Bourbon with Pastor Harold Harrison officiating. Interment was in Delhi Cemetery. Visitation was from 5­9 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2002 at the Eaton Chapel in Bourbon.
