Mary was united in marriage to Richard Eugene Aberer at Steelville, Missouri on October 27, 1951 and to this union three children were born. Mary retired in 1993 after 20 years of dedicated service from Briarwood Nursing Home as a cook. She was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cuba. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, raising flowers, camping and was a Girl Scout Leader in the Cuba area for many years. What she truly enjoyed most was spending time with her family, friends and spoiling her grandchildren. He was employed at Huzzah Valley Resort. Estel was raised in the Pentecostal Faith. His hobbies included bowling, camping and being a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and wrestling. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry Gray and Roy and Allie Britton; his father, George Carey; and two brothers, Clayton and Dempsey Carey. Dwain Croom Dwain Croom of Sullivan, Missouri was born on January 9, 1940 in Lynn, Arkansas to Sherill E. and Martha C. (Adams) Croom and passed away on August 20, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 72 years, 7 months and 11 days. Dwain was united in marriage to Barbara Jones on July 2, 1957 in Batesville, Arkansas. Dwain was a welder and inspector by trade. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing, and always had a story about the one that got away. He was a representative for the White’s Metal Detectors for over 18 years traveling the United States. He field-tested one of the first Classic I.D.’s detector on the market. Dwain found many treasures through the years with his metal detector. He obey the gospel at an early age of 15 and was baptized in the Strawberry River in Lynn, Arkansas. He served his Lord through his life having served as Deacon in Afton, Missouri, under the leadership of the well known evangelist Eugene Sewell. Dwain and Barbara, help build the congregation at the Quartzside, Arizona where they attended for 20 years. They worshiped with the St James Church of Christ for 18 years when Dwain’s health permitted. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherill and Martha Croom. He is survived by his wife of the home, Barbara Croom of Sullivan, Missouri; two sons, Lionel W. Croom and wife Theresa of O’Fallon, Missouri and Phillip E. Ned honorably served in the U.S. Army and had worked for 39 years as a chemist for P. D. George Paint Co. After retirement, he and Emma eventually settled in Sullivan to be near family. Bill Harrison Bill Harrison of St. James, Missouri, formerly of Cuba, Missouri, was born May 15, 1924 at Joiner, Arkansas and passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012 at St. James, Missouri at the age of 88 years. Bill retired in the 1970’s after many years of being a Farm Labor Contractor where he was in charge of 1,500 employees working six months a year in Michigan and six months a year in Florida picking produce. After retiring Bill moved to New Mexico, where he lived for many years, before moving to Missouri to be closer to his family. In his spare he enjoyed rabbit and coon hunting. On November 23, 1946 she was united in marriage to Roland Head. Elaine was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was dedicated to her family and loyal fan of St. Louis Browns and Cardinals, who she followed her entire life. Ted, as he was known, worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT) for 38 years as a Construction Engineer. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, a life-time member of the NRA and would travel to Wyoming and Montana on hunting trips. He was a member of the Christ Chapel in St. Clair, Missouri. Raymond J. “Bud” Wishon Raymond J. “Bud” Wishon was born January 29, 1931 in Rolla, Missouri to Raymond A. and Elsie M. (Borlisch) Wishon and passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Homestead Health & Rehabilitation Center in Garden City, Kansas at the age of 81 years. Bud was a retired fertilizer Ag. chemical sales representative for Helena Chemical Co. Bud was well known by all as “The Children’s Story Man.” He took children to “The Land of Peppermint Seas,” “Chewing Gum Trees,” and other fantasyland places for many years. Bud began his agricultural career in the Garden City area in 1951. He has lived in the Garden City area since. On December 18, 1947 he married Opal A. Kingston in Rolla, Missouri. During the past 58 years, Bud worked for the Garden City Co-op, Garden City Farm Center, Blicks Agri Farm Center, Maxima Corp. and Helena Chemical Company where he retired in 1996.  He enjoyed gardening, traveling, camping, fishing with his family, and hunting with his neighbors and friends. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren and as a lifetime deacon of the church he served on the deacon board for years. He was active in 4-H and served on the Finney Co. 4-H Council Board. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Elsie Wishon; son, Fredrick Wishon; daughter, Wilma J.
