Myrtle Marie "Tiny" Farmer Myrtle Marie "Tiny" Farmer of Bourbon, Missouri was born on August 25, 1931 to Carl G. and Myrtle M. (Stotler) McGeorge in F lat River, Missouri and passed away on August 10, 2018 at the age of 86 years. In 1953 Tiny married Clyde R. "Duck" Farmer, one month after his release from a Prisoner of War Camp. Tiny was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and attended the Bourbon UMC every week, missing rarely for the 40+ years they lived in Bourbon, Missouri. She enjoyed reading and embroidery. Tiny was often the life of the party, dancing and singing. In her later years, she became part of a duo, along with her dear sister Jennie Lou, who would entertain at select pre-rehearsal wedding parties. Never the wall flower, she liked making people laugh and lived by the motto - "If you can't have fun, then it isn't worth doing." Lyda "Lydia" Fast Hyde Lyda "Lydia" Fast Horse Hyde was born in Poplar, Montana on October 16, 1956 and passed away on July 29, 2018. At three years old she and her sister Danna came to live with Roberta and Harold West of Chinook, Montana She went through school in Chinook and graduated in 1974 from Mountain View High School in Helena, Montana. Lyda and Don were married in Chinook, Montana on June 23, 1979. Lyda and Don were called by the Lord to the mission field. They sacrificed all material goods, leaving friends and family to serve. They smuggled bibles into China hoping the border guards would not check their packs. They served in the Philippines for years working with the poorest of the poor on the garbage dumps. They moved back to Havre, Montana and then moved to Missouri to care for Roberta West. Roberta had family in Viburnum, Missouri and chose that area for retirement years. It was there that Don worked and Lyda cared for Roberta. Don worked at Doe Run Company until he became ill in 2015. She was preceded in death by her son, Isaiah in January 2015; and her husband, Don, in October of 2016. She is survived by her sister Danna Burns and Arle Loholf; nieces, Shannon Hewkin and Roberta Schmidt; daughter-in-law, Tina Hyde; granddaughter, Roxanna Hyde; other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place and a service in her memory will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2018. Scott Arthur Kean Scott Arthur Kean of St. James, Missouri was born in St. Charles, Missouri on October 6, 1963 to Walter and Eveyln (Mathena) Kean and passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at the age of 54 years. Scott proudly served in the United States Army. On December 12, 2015 Scott married Jeannie Walker. They moved just out of town and enjoyed "country living". He enjoyed feeding the deer and watching them come to eat, sitting on the porch and having morning coffee with Jeannie. They were always together, not because they had to be, but they truly enjoyed each others company. In the spring they couldn't wait to get outside and plant gardens, both flower and vegetable. They nurtured and tended the vegetable gardens and were proud to share the fruits of their labor with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Evelyn Kean. She worked at Convey Shoe in Cuba, Brown Shoe and later retired from Gibbs Care Center in Steelville, missouri after 25 years. Sharon married David Leslie Sr. on October 1, 1971 in Steelville, Missouri. She attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Sharon was an avid Cardinal baseball fan. Charles Gerard "Chuck" Ruggeri Charles Gerard "Chuck" Ruggeri of Rolla, Missouri was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 16, 1953 to Angelo Mario and Eva (Schultz) Ruggeri and passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the age of 64 years. On June 18, 2016 he married Tina Devine. He was a U.S. Naval veteran having served on submarines in the early to mid 1970's. He earned a Master's degree from the University-Missouri-Rolla, now Missouri S&T, in Chemical Engineering. He founded and operated the Cuba Paint Co. in Cuba, Missouri for many years. When he located to Rolla, Missouri he owned and operated a building construction Co. "One Man and a Toolbox." He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rolla, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his father, Angelo Ruggeri; and a brother-in-law, Tom Imlay. Southard of Maries County was born at High Gate, Missouri on August 3, 1929 to Parm Vernon and Eva (Woodruff) Southard and passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018 at the age of 89 years. He was a 1946 graduate of Belle High School and an Army veteran of the Korean War, stationed in Germany and working in Army I ntelligence. During his vigorous years, Southard was many things but notably he was an American and local historian of merit. He was a close friend and confidant of noted Belle High School History Teacher Bryce Jett, whom he met with frequently and the two liked to talk about history. It was Jett who told Southard that Asa Pinnell is considered the Father of Maries County, a distinction that was important to Southard and he helped mark the spot where Pinnell is buried. Southard recalled riding in the back of a wagon as a child and his grandmother telling him the place they were passing by was Squire Asa Pinnell's homestead on Lanes Prairie. It was called Double Chimneys because of the large chimneys at each end of the building. Southard compilation of the history of High Gate, Missouri stands as a life's work. The Southard family operated the Old Mill Store in High Gate for over 30 years of continuous service to the community. The store sold supplies of all kinds but also was a meeting place in High Gate. Southard had respect for the older structures and mourned the destruction of the old school house in High Gate and the Baptist Church there. He had many interests and hobbies including coon hunting, arrowheads, collecting antiques with a special interest in antique lamps, which he repaired. He and Iris were charter members of two nationally known lamp organizations, The Aladdin Kings and the Miniature Lamp Club. Iris, too, was an antique expert, especially with dishes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Parm and Eva Southard; his wife, Iris (Keeney) Southard on July 13, 1994; a brother, Wallace Southard; one brother-in-law, Ivan Baumgartner; and a sister-in-law, Geneva Southard. Paster Nolan Hugh Stogsdill Pastor Nolan Hugh Stogsdill of St. Clair, Missouri, and formerly of Bourbon, Missouri, was born on November 30, 1934 at Couch, Missouri to Wellie and Mae (Rice) Stogsdill and passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the age of 83 years. Hugh married Eunice Simpson on May 31, 1952 in Mammoth Springs, Arkansas. Hugh retired from General Motors in 1992, after 30 years of dedicated service. He was ordained to preach the Gospel in 1963 and over the years he served as the Pastor of Meramec Heights Free Will Baptist Church in Valley Park, O'Fallon Free Will Baptist Church, Gray Summit Free Will Baptist Church and Bourbon Free Will Baptist Church. Hugh was a member of Christ Chapel Free Will Baptist Church and he enjoyed wood crafting, fishing and watching wrestling. He loved to read westerns especially Louis L'Amour, as he was his favorite. He wrote a book that is in publication named Mountain Home Sunrise. He also has a second one ready for publication. He had a wood shop in his garage and made things for his family and sold some of his things he made. He was very creative with the things he made. He loved camping, adventures, animals, cockatiels and finches and animals. He had two dogs named Jasamine and Ozzie. He also like to do gardening and cooking. Dorothy married Willis Wilkinson on July 6, 1941 at Perryville, Missouri. Dorothy worked in retail and at the Cuba Shoe Company for several years. She would later become the co-owner of Sew & Sew Fabric Shop and G&W Heel Lift in Cuba, Missouri. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading and doing needlepoint. She was a longtime fan of baseball and NCAA basketball. Dorothy was a lifetime member of the Cuba United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Della Ritchie; husband, Willis Wilkinson; one son, Carl Wilkinson; two grandchildren, Arthur B.
