Kathleen Bick
Kathleen (Quann) Bick of Cuba, Missouri, formerly of St.
Louis, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 26, 2005 at the age of
54 years.
Beloved wife of Cort Bick, of Cuba, Missouri; dear
daughter of Loraine (Alewel) Quann, St. Louis, Missouri; step-mother
of Clayton, Charles and Andrew Bick; dear sister of Sharon Turner of
Cuba, Missouri, Sherry Lincoln, St. Louis, Missouri; half-brother
Raymond Quann, Bridgeton, New Jersey; five step grandchildren, other
relatives and many friends.
Memorial service for Kathleen Quann Bick will be
conducted at 6 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2005 from the chapel of
the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri.
Gathering of family and friends from 5-6 p.m. Thursday,
September 1, 2005.
Neil G. Christopher, Jr.
Neil G. Christopher, Jr. of Cuba, MO was born on
Wednesday, April 30, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri to Neil G.
Christopher, Sr. and Lauretta Mae Mauzzy Christopher. He passed away
suddenly on Thursday, August 25, 2005 at the age of 58 years, 3
months, and 25 days.
Neil was a Broker Associate for Century 21 Friends Real
Estate in Cuba for the last eight years. He was a member of the
National, Missouri and South Central Association of Realtors. He
earned the following designations: GRI (Graduate of Realtors
Institute), ABR (Accredited Buyers Representative), and CRS
(Certified Residential Specialist). He was a member of the Injoy
Christian Fellowship Church, Leasburg, Missouri where he attended
faithfully and taught a Sunday School class.
Neil loved his family, and especially spending time with
his children and grandchildren. His hobbies were raising horses,
horseback riding and working on his homeplace.
He is survived by his wife Gwen Christopher of the home;
son Neil G. Christopher, III and wife Nancy of Cuba, Missouri;
daughters Lauri Sanders and husband Kevin of Cuba, Missouri; Brenda
Grant and husband Chris of Bethesda, Maryland, Bobbi Jo Meyer and
husband Mike of Cuba, Missouri and Brandy Howdeshell and husband Don
of St. James, Missouri.
Mother-in-law Betty Todd of Cuba; brothers Geoff
Christopher, Bruce Christopher and wife Debbie all of Cuba,
Missouri; and sister Fran Albright and husband Ralph of St. Louis,
Missouri; brothers and sisters-in-law Becky Hutson and husband Bryan
and Mike Todd all of St. Louis, Missouri; Michelle Todd of Leasburg,
Missouri, and Teresa Smith and husband Morty of Steelville,
Missouri; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild; nieces,
nephews, cousins and many friends,
Visitation was at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri
from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2005.
Funeral Services were Saturday, August 27, 2005 at 7
p.m. at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri with Rev. Mike Potter
officiating.
All arrangements under the direction of Hutson Funeral
Home, Cuba. Missouri.
Alice Mae Glaese
Alice Mae (Rector) Glaese, 71, passed away peacefully at
home Saturday evening the August 27, 2005, surrounded by her family.
She had fought a valiant battle with breast cancer for nearly 13
years.
Alice was born March 20, 1934 in Cuba, Missouri to
William Martin Sr. and Anna Adele (Hamilton) Martin. She was
married to Harold (Bud) Rector Sr. on August 15, 1950, and to this
union was born six children. Bud passed away on June 6, 1988. Alice
married David Glaese on January 1, 1990.
Alice was employed by Farmers Home Administration as
well as serving as a dedicated homemaker.
Alice was a Christian and faithful member of South Haven
Baptist Church in Springfield. Her happiest times were spent with
family and friends playing games, playing the piano, and listening
to gospel music. She will truly be missed for her quick wit and
sense of humor.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Bud, and two
brothers, Fred and George Martin.
Alice is survived by her husband David Glaese, her
sister Nell Davis and husband Elwin of Mechanicsville, Maryland; a
brother William Martin Jr. of Alton, Illinois; six children, Linda
New and husband Steve, Peggy Gwennap and husband Gene, and Harold
Rector all of Springfield, Missouri; Diane Lanning and husband Randy
of Howell, New Jersey; Darlene Patterson and husband Charles of
Rolla, Missouri; and Marty Rector and wife Jill of St. Louis,
Missouri; one stepson, Todd Glaese and wife Kay of Jonesboro,
Arkansas.
Also surviving are ten grandchildren. Chris New and wife
Tara; Stephanie Marzen and husband Jeremy; Josh Gwennap and wife
Kayla; Sarah Gwennap; Johanna and Heather Lanning; Anna, Grace and
Julia Rector; and Kara Glaese.
Visitation services were Tuesday evening August 30, from
7-9 p.m. at Greenlawn South Funeral Home in Springfield, Missouri.
Funeral services were Wednesday, August 31 at 10 a.m. at
South Haven Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri. Graveside
services will be held at 4 p.m. at Meramec Hills Cemetery in Cuba,
Missouri.
Sister Mary Frances Kulage SSND
Sister Mary Frances Kulage SSND, age 102 years, died at
Chatawa, Mississippi on August 3, 2005. She was a former teacher and
principal at the Holy Cross Catholic School in Cuba, Missouri. She
served from 1940 to 1943.
A native of St. Louis, Missouri, she entered the School
Sisters of Notre Dame in St. Louis, Missouri in 1925. At her
religious profession she took the name "Sr. Mary Henry," but later
returned to her baptismal name.
She was a religious Sister for 76 years. She taught in
schools in Missouri, Iowa, Louisiana and Texas.
In 1990 she came to St. Mary of the Pines at Chatawa,
Michigan where elderly and infirm SSND Sisters have a residential
care center. She continued her volunteer services, and was a lector
and Eucharistic minister there until her 99th birthday.
Her funeral Mass was held on August 8 at St. Theresa
Church, Chatawa.
Burial was in the SSND Cemetery at St. Mary of the
Pines.
Jeanette Mary Martin
Jeanette Mary Martin, nee Becker, of Cuba, Missouri was
born on December 8, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of
Fredrick Becker and Geraldine Seals Becker and passed away on
Saturday, August 27, 2005 at Phelps County Regional Medical Center
at the age of 57 years, 8 month and 19 days.
Jeanette was united in marriage to Donald Martin on
January 21, 1967 in St. Clair, Missouri. Three sons Bob, Scott and
Donnie Martin were born to this union.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Those who survive to mourn her passing from life are her
loving husband of 38 years Donald Martin, three sons Bob and wife
Becky of Robertsville, Scott and wife Cindy of St. Clair, Missouri
and Donnie and wife Shelia of Cuba, Missouri; one brother Fred and
wife Linda Becker of Leslie, Missouri, one sister Patricia Vernitte
of St. Charles, Missouri; mother-in-law Eva Lee Martin and 10
grandchildren.
Jeanette worked for the food service department of the
R-13 School District in St. Clair before moving to Cuba six years
ago and is a member of the Cuba Freewill Baptist Church.
Jeanette was a wonderful homemaker, devoted wife, loving
mother, grandmother, and good friend to all who knew her and will be
sadly missed.
Visitation was held Tuesday, August 30 from 3-9 p.m. at
Britton Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was held 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 31 at
the Britton Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri. Interment was held in
Midlawn Memorial Gardens, Union, Missouri.
