MO Local Obituaries for the Week of September 6, 2007 Rosemary Long Rosemary Long, of Viburnum, Missouri, formerly of St. Louis, Missouri, was born December 24, 1922, the daughter of Harry and Leticia Bredemeyer and passed away on August 25, 2007 at Stonecrest Healthcare in Viburnum, Missouri at the age of 84. She was married to Oliver Harding Long in 1941 and he preceded her in death on February 3, 1982. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia Long and Jeanette Long. Rosemary is survived by one son, Robert Long of Viburnum, Missouri; one daughter, Beth Cowick of St. Louis, Missouri and four grandchildren. Private burial will be in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri. Arrangements were under the direction of the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, Missouri. Deborah Sue Umfleet Deborah Sue Umfleet of Cuba, Missouri was born November 29, 1962 at St. Louis, Missouri to Tommy and Evelyn (nee Butts) Smith and passed away Sunday, September 2, 2007 at the age of 44 years, 9 months and 3 days. Debbie was united in marriage to John Umfleet on October 1, 1989 at St. Charles, Missouri and to this union one daughter was born. Debbie was loved by family and extended family at Cuba Manor during her battle with Huntington’s disease, which she had for over 10 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Michael Smith. She is survived by her husband; one daughter, April Umfleet; step-father, John G. Thomure of Farmington, Missouri; grandmother, Lorraine Butts of Cuba, Missouri; one aunt, Ellen and husband Rich Fahr of O’Fallon, Missouri; one uncle, Richard Butts of Salem, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Graveside service was Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 1 p.m. at the Sligo Cemetery, Sligo, Missouri with Brother Allen Teal officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri Walter I. Wadsworth Walter I. “Pete” Wadsworth of Cuba, Missouri formerly of Hazelwood, Missouri was born June 25, 1939 in Manor, Pennsylvania to the union of Irving and Eva (Clinebell) Wadsworth and passed away August 30, 2007 in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 68 years, 2 months and 5 days. He was united in marriage to Eileen Secrist on January 28, 1966 in Youngstown, Ohio and to this union two sons were born. He retired from the Hazelwood Fire Dept. after 34 years of faithful and dedicated service. He was a member of Firefighters Local No. 2665 and Cuba VFW Post Gun Club. He enjoyed camping and spending time on the computer. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of the home; two sons, Michael Wadsworth and special friend Trinda Batson of Villa Ridge, Missouri and Glenn and wife Sharon Wadsworth of Virginia Beach, Virginia; one brother, James and wife Toshiko Wadsworth of North Carolina; two sisters, Shirley and husband Paul Haubrich and Claudia and husband Sal Patchell all of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren; one step-grandchild; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. Memorial service Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at 7 p.m. at the Lodge of Meramec Valley Camp Resort, Cuba, Missouri. Arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
