Carl married Betty C. Morris. Carl worked as a carpenter and dry wall installer for many years before his health began to decline. He spent hours reading his bible. Carl was an amazing guitarist. He could play anything you wanted to hear, especially songs from the old church hymnal. In his younger years, they did lots of camping and Carl did some woodworking. For the last few years Carl enjoyed solitaire on the computer. What Carl enjoyed most was traveling to Cuba, Missouri for family reunions or just to be able to sit around and visiting with all his siblings and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruth Bridgeman; two brothers, Wayne and Johnny and wife Teri Bridgeman; one sister, Lola Mae Holland; one daughter, Pam Palmer; one son, Delbert Bridgeman; and one brother-in-law, Bob Morris. Vincent Patrick Culleton Vincent Patrick Culleton, known to some as Vince and to others as Vinnie, of Dittmer, Missouri (formerly St. Louis, Missouri) was born in St. Louis on April 24, 1953 to Thomas and Genevieve Mary Culleton (nee Wobbe) and passed away at the age of 64 years, 4 months and 3 days. Vince was a Christian, having been baptized in the Catholic faith at a young age. Vince had attended special school until he was 20 and he held a special place in the hearts of all he came in contact with. After his mother passed, Vince made his home with his sister Eileen and her family. He loved playing video games, helping around the house and coloring. Vince was passionate about taking pictures and arranging them in albums and if anybody in the family was looking for a certain picture, they would ask Vince. Purple was he favorite color. Kathleen was his best friend and they had great times together. Vince was especially happy when he got to go to Six Flags and ride the rides. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Genevieve Culleton; and one brother, Leo Jones. He is survived by three sisters, Eileen Dittrich and husband Pete of Dittmer, Missouri, Mary Ann McKechnie of Hyannis, Nebraska and Catherine Askew of St. Louis, Missouri; four brothers, James Culleton of St. Louis, Missouri, Michael Culleton and wife June of Cuba, Missouri, John Culleton of St. Louis, Missouri and Thomas Culleton and wife Shari of St. Louis, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Paul Douglas Embry Paul Douglas Embry, of St. James, Missouri was born on March 27, 1938 to Mason and Opal Embry in Hardinsburg, Kentucky and passed away on August 22, 2017 at the age of 79 years, 4 months and 26 days. Paul was a retired Air Force Master Sergeant with over 20 years service to his country. Paul was very proud of his military career, as was his family. He also was a retired United Mine Workers of America coal miner (Electrician/Mechanic) with over 41 years union membership. Paul, affectionately known as "Poppy" to his granddaughters, moved to Missouri in 2003 to be closer to family. Although he always considered himself as being from Kentucky, he had grown to love Missouri, its scenery, and friendly people. These things reminded him so much of "home." He is survived by two sons, David J. Embry of St James, Missouri and Earl D. Embry of Cloverport, Kentucky; five granddaughters; other relatives and friends. Frees Margaret F. Frees was born on September 9, 1927, in Brooksville, Mississippi to Marion and Lucy Hines and passed away on August 30, 2017 at the age of 89 years. She was raised in Brooksville, and that is where she met her husband, who was from Redbud, Illinois, but was in Mississippi helping on his family's farm. On July 2, 1945, she married Rodney A. Frees and they settled in Owensville, Missouri (Jake Prairie). They had a dairy farm early in their marriage. Later they raised crops, hogs, and cattle. She was a very good cook, with fried chicken and mashed potatoes being her specialty. She was also an excellent seamstress, making and mending many of her family's clothes. Her hobbies included gardening, fishing, and piecing beautiful quilt tops together to give away to her family. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She also enjoyed visiting with her neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Lucy Hines; husband, Rodney A. Frees; daughter-in-law, Rita Frees; and brothers, S.J. ""Jiggs" Hines, John Hines and Larry Hines. She is survived by her sons, Rod E. Patsy married Terry Daily Manley on April 17, 1959 in Waterloo, Illinois and to this union 10 children were born. Patsy loved Kipling, Dickens, Norman Rockwell and countless other sources of art, music and literature. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Anna Moore; and brothers, Wayne Moore and John Moore. Shirley Louise Mathenia Shirley Louise Mathenia of St. James, Missouri was born March 21, 1936 at Harrah, Washington to Clarence and Lillian Kennings Robinett and passed away August 25, 2017 at the age of 81 years. She was united in marriage to Ed Mathenia. Shirley was a worker, she and her family owned and operated the Elm Restaurant in St. James, Missouri for many years. She worked many hours in the VFW Women's Auxiliary, but still found time for her family. She and her husband Ed loved to travel and were able to enjoy many adventures together. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lillian Robinett; husband, Edward in 1996; one daughter, Terri Marks; one brother, Don Robinett; and one sister, Patricia McRoberts. (Steffen) Hamilton on January 29, 1923 in Cuba, Missouri and passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the age of 94 years. Helen was united in marriage to Joseph Michalik on April 10, 1943 in Cuba, Missouri. Helen was truly the "rock" of her family and she spent her life taking care of her home and family. She was an excellent baker and cook, especially her cinnamon rolls, bread, coffee cakes and chicken and dumplings. Helen held the honor of being the oldest member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Cuba, Missouri where she had been an active member for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Anna Hamilton; husband, Joseph Michalik; one grandson, Tommy Hughes; and three brothers, George, James and William Edward Hamilton. Leroy Aloise Schatz Leroy Aloise Schatz of Sullivan, Missouri was born on February 17, 1936 at Spring Bluff, Missouri to Richard and May (Johan) Schatz and passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the age of 81 years. He served his country in the United States Marines Corp from January 26, 1957 to January 26, 1959. He married Virginia Eggers on April 17, 1958. She passed away on December 12, 1989. He later married Patricia Kocinski in May of 1991 and together they blended their families. Leroy was employed by John Fabick Tractor Company for many years and eventually retired from there. He was baptized into the catholic faith and was a dedicated member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Masonic Lodge #69 A.F. and A.M. and Sullivan I.O.O.F. Lodge #156. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and May Schatz; spouses, Virginia Eggers Schatz and Patricia Kocinski Schatz in on October 21, 2014; his son, Michael Schatz; and eight siblings, Richard and Josephine Schatz, James and Ruth Schatz, Herbert and Katheryn Schatz, Gertrude and Bill Newman, Francis, Lawrence and Allen Schatz. Marvin Leverne Thompson Marvin Leverne Thompson of St. James, Missouri, formerly of Vienna, Missouri, was born on February 27, 1943 in Vienna, Missouri to Ray R. and Lucille E. (Fisher) Thompson and passed away August 15, 2017 at the age of 74 years. Marvin attended school at Flat Top School. On September 2, 1961 he married Anna (Williams) Franks and to this union, three children were born. He later married Lois Hawkins Thompson. Marvin had been a minister for most of his life and at the time of his passing was the pastor of Trinity Pentecostal Bibleway Fellowship Church in St. James, Missouri. He had been employed in timber work, had worked at Quaker Window, Freeburg, Missouri, and ABB in Jefferson City, Missouri, when he retired. Marvin enjoyed preaching, hunting, fishing, and being around those he loved. He loved listening to Jimmy Swaggert and singing God's praises, and going to Bibleway Youth Camp meeting at Doniphan, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Lucille Thompson; sister, Dessie Mae Thompson; brothers, Leo and Charles Thompson; and two grandsons, Anthony and Joshua.
