Brand of Steelville, Missouri was born on Monday, July 2, 1962 in Newport News, Virginia to the union of Joe Richard Brand and Charlotte Martin Brand. He passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at the age of 44 years, 1 month and 28 days. As a child, Kelly made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized at the Assembly of God Church, Steelville, Missouri. After graduating from high school, he worked several years as a union painter in local #2341 of St. Louis, Missouri. Kelly enjoyed hunting and fishing as hobbies. He also liked to ride his motorcycle and most of all was fascinated with collecting Native American Indian artifacts. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Floy Brand, Hazel Hutson and Fred Martin; and father, Joe Richard Brand. Those who remain to mourn his passing are his mother, Charlotte Brand Pope of Cuba, Missouri; children, Zachary Brand and Whitney Brand of Chase Mills, New York; brothers, Kerry Brand and wife Nita, Kenton Brand and Kyle Brand, all of Steelville, Missouri; grandmother, Martha Wright of Steelville, Missouri; aunts and uncles; seven nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; cousins; and many friends who will sadly miss and fondly remember Kelly J. Brand. Visitation was held Saturday, September 2, 2006 from 5-8 p.m. at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri. Funeral service was held Sunday, September 3, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Barry Ivie officiating. Special music of "Blessed Assurance" as sung by Patty Ivie Elmore and "Somebody's Praying" sung by Jeff Wilson. Burial was at Cherryville Baptist Cemetery, Cherryville, Missouri with pallbearers Tommy Bouse, Larry Smith, Rick Martin, Brian Ivie, Alan Pitts, Brent Booker and David Booker. Claude Saunders Chapman Claude Saunders Chapman, 92, formerly of Cuba, Missouri, passed away at his home August 17, 2006 in Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Lou Saunders Chapman of Cuba, Missouri and a sister, Mary Schukwerk of St. Louis, Missouri. Saunders is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Kathryn F. Chapman; daughter, Marta Clarson and husband John; son, Michael Chapman, all of Houston, Texas. Brothers, Bill Chapman and wife Juanita of Jackson, Tennessee, Ben Chapman and wife Audrey of Roseville, California; sister, Thelma Libhart of Rolla, Missouri. Grandchildren, Ben, Elly and Dan Clarson; sister-in-law, Alice Ruth Ebbs of Arlington, Virginia; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Memorial services were held August 22, 2006 with Rev. Don Kidd officiating. Saunders will be remembered by the many students he had while teaching in several one-room schools around Cuba, early in his life. Catherine M. Coleman Catherine M. Coleman nee Schmidt of Steelville, Missouri was born on Sunday, November 13, 1921 in Nokomis, Illinois to Henry Frederick Schmidt and Francis Ferder Schmidt. She passed away at Gibbs Care Center in Steelville, Missouri on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 17 days. Catherine was married to Glenn E. Coleman in St. Louis, Missouri on November 27, 1946. They made their home in Dolton, Illinois where she worked as a secretary and retired from Chicago and Eastern, Illinois Railroad. After retirement they moved to Steelville, Missouri where she was active in the Eastern Star, American Legion, VFW-Ladies Auxiliary, Moose Lodge of Rolla, Missouri, Steelville Presbyterian Church and secretary for Maramec Spring Trout Association. Her hobbies were crocheting and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn; brothers, Eugene Schmidt and Henry Schmidt; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Coleman. Those who remain to mourn her passing are her special nephews, David Schmidt and wife Colleen of Steelville, Missouri, Dale Schmidt and wife Debbie of Jefferson City, Missouri; niece, Dana Schmidt of Steelville, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Schmidt and Mildred Booker, all of Steelville, Missouri and Mabel McCarthy of Union, Missouri; brother-in-law, Haskell Coleman and wife Letha of Windsor, Colorado; cousins; other relatives and friends. Goldie Cecelia Fay Gibson Goldie Cecelia Fay Gibson (nee Hubble) of Cuba, Missouri was born on July 10, 1943 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of William D. and Lucille (nee Helenschmitt) Hubble and left from this life on Monday, September 4, 2006 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 63 years, 1 month and 24 days. Goldie Fay was a member of Faith Chapel of Cuba, Missouri. She enjoyed reading her Bible and watching the TBN Channel. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, companion and friend to many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Goldie Fay is preceded in death by her parents, William and Lucille Hubble; husband, Dale Gibson; one son, Howard O. Fry III; three brothers, Edwin and Ervin Bollinger and William L. Hubble; companion of 14 years, Thomas Hamilton; and a host of other relatives and friends. Those who are left to mourn her passing from this life are her loving sons, Zeno and wife Tonya Fry of Cuba, Missouri and Jerry Stasiak of Cuba, Missouri; two sisters, Wilma June Weathers of Herculaneum, Missouri and Shirley Brown of Beach Park, Illinois and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Loretta Turnbough Loretta Turnbough, 70, of Steelville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2006 at Phelps County Regional Hospital in Rolla, Missouri. She was born Friday, May 8, 1936 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Jessie "Nute" and Alberta Rodgers Martin. Loretta was united in marriage to Cubert Audry Turnbough on December 19, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri and he preceded her in death on June 27, 1997. Those left to mourn her passing are her son, Wade Turnbough and wife Carol of Owensville, Missouri; two daughtes, Rhonda and Robin Turnbough, both of Steelville, Missouri; five grandchildren, Jonathan, Ryan, Quinton, Emily Turnbough and Brittany Smith. She will be remembered for being a very dedicated mother to her children. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 29, 2006 in the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Coleman officiating. Special music of "Amazing Grace" and a medley of songs were sung by Bob and Carol Coleman. Serving as casket bearers were Quinton Turnbough, Bob Coleman, Bill Bennett, with committal prayers and burial in the Steelville Cemetery.
